Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The warm sunlight streamed through the windows of the Katsuragi household, casting a cozy glow over the breakfast table. Katsuragi Kokoro, a tall and handsome high school freshman, sat between his mother, Katsuragi Eniko, and his little sister, Katsuragi Yui. The aroma of freshly cooked rice and miso soup filled the air, mingling with the sound of sizzling bacon.

Eniko smiled as she watched her children eat. "Kokoro, Yui, are you both excited about going back to school? Especially you, Kokoro, it's your first day of high school!"

Kokoro looked up from his breakfast, his black eyes slightly hesitant. "Yeah, I guess so. I'm a bit nervous."

Yui, who was busy munching on a piece of toast, suddenly piped up. "Hey, big brother, I'm sure you'll make lots of friends... just like you did in middle school." Her tone was laced with sarcasm, and she giggled mischievously.

Kokoro's face reddened slightly as he shot his sister a glare. "Hey, that's not funny, Yui. I had friends... sort of."

Eniko chuckled, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Oh, Kokoro, don't mind Yui. You'll do just fine in high school. You're a smart boy."

Yui snickered again, her ponytail bouncing as she shook her head. "Yeah, sure, big brother. You'll probably spend the whole year alone in the library, reading books."

Kokoro's patience snapped, and he playfully tossed a piece of bread at Yui. "Shut up, Yui!"

Yui squealed, her eyes widening in mock horror. "Big brother's attacking me!"

The siblings began to bicker, their voices rising as they playfully argued over whose more stupid between them (Authors Note: they are both stupid so no readers need to think too hard) . Eniko watched them with a warm smile before intervening.

"Okay, okay, that's enough. You both need to get ready for school. No fighting at the table."

The siblings reluctantly stopped arguing, their faces still flushed from the argument. Eniko handed them each a of their own bento. "Don't forget your bento, and make sure to eat something healthy during recess."

Kokoro and Yui nodded in unison before quickly finishing their breakfast. They headed to their respective rooms to prepare for school, the sound of rushing water and laughter filling the air as they took each bathroom at the first and second floor showering and brushing their teeth.

Twenty minutes later, the Katsuragi siblings stood outside their front door, dressed in their school uniforms. Kokoro adjusted his tie, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness about his first day of high school. Yui, on the other hand, looked like she owned the world, her confidence radiating from every pore.

"Let's go, big brother," Yui said, grinning mischievously. "We don't want to be late on our first day."

Kokoro rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "You're the one who's going to make us late, Yui."

"Remember you two be careful out there, always prepare a pen in your pockets so you can protect yourself from strangers" Katsuragi Eniko the siblings mother said with a hint of worry present on her face.

The siblings nodded at their mothers ridiculous protectiveness and set off towards the train station, the morning sun casting long shadows behind them. As they walked, Kokoro couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation about what the new school year had in store for him.

As they walked to the train station, Kokoro adjusted his red and white striped tie again, making sure it was perfectly centered. His dark-colored suit-style uniform, complete with a crisp white shirt and dark pants, he was excited to wear it for his first day of high school. The formal attire made him feel more mature, and he hoped it would help him make a good impression.

Yui, on the other hand, looked adorable in her dark-colored sailor uniform, the classic Japanese girl's school attire. Her tie was a simple yet elegant knot, and her dark skirt fell just above her knees. She had her hair tied up in a neat ponytail, and her bright smile lit up the morning.

As they walked to the train station, Kokoro's tall stature and handsome features drew more than a few admiring glances from the older crowd. His dark hair and dark eyes seemed to captivate the attention of the passersby, and some of the older women couldn't help but steal glances at the young high school freshman. Yui, on the other hand, was getting her own share of attention, with older women cooing over her cute and petite features. Her dark hair and dark eyes sparkled as she walked alongside her brother, and her sailor uniform seemed to accentuate her youthful charm.

The siblings were aware of the attention they were receiving, and they exchanged teasing remarks as they walked. "Hey, big brother, you're quite the celebrity already," Yui said with a giggle, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

Kokoro rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "Shut up, Yui. They're just looking at us because we're new students."

Yui snickered. "Yeah, sure, big brother. Or maybe it's because you're just so handsome."

Kokoro's face undettered by the teasing compliment, he playfully nudged his sister. "Stop it, Yui. You're making me blush."

"What are you talking about big brother!? There's not even a single speck of red in your cheeks!!

The older women around them couldn't help but smile at the siblings' banter, and some of them even stopped to watch them walk by. One of them whispered to her friend, "Look at those two, they're just adorable! The boy is so tall and handsome, and the girl is just precious."

Yui overheard the comment and grinned mischievously at Kokoro. "See, big brother? We're famous already."

Kokoro chuckled and shook his head. "Let's just get to school before we're late, okay?"

As they approached the train station, the siblings quickened their pace, their laughter and banter filling the air. Despite the attention they were receiving, they seemed to be enjoying each other's company, and their playful teasing only added to their charm.

As they arrived at the train station, Yui's eyes scanned the platform, and her face lit up with excitement. "Kokoro, look! My friends are here!" She waved enthusiastically at a group of girls in the same middle school uniform as her.

Kokoro smiled and nodded. "Go ahead and catch up with them, Yui. I'll be fine."

Yui's eyes sparkled with mischief. "Are you sure, big brother? You can join us if you want."

Kokoro chuckled. "I think I'll pass. Besides, it's safer for you to be with your friends. You guys can look out for each other."

Yui grinned. "Don't worry, big brother. I'll take care of myself. You just make sure not to get lost on your first day of high school."

Kokoro playfully rolled his eyes. "I'll try my best."

As Yui joined her friends, she turned back to Kokoro and teased, "Don't be lonely after I'm gone, big brother!"

Kokoro suppressed a smile and shook his head, trying to appear annoyed. "I'll survive."

With a final wave, Yui disappeared into the crowd of middle school students. Kokoro pulled out his phone and started playing a game, immersing himself in the virtual world.

As he waited for the train, the platform began to fill up with students in various school uniforms. Some wore the same middle school uniform as Yui, while others wore the same high school uniform as Kokoro. The crowd was a mix of different schools and uniforms, but Kokoro didn't pay much attention, too engrossed in his game.

Finally, the train arrived, and Kokoro quickly boarded it, his eyes scanning the crowded cars for an empty seat. He spotted one and swiftly made his way towards it, relieved to have secured a seat for the ride to school.
