Chapter 9 - chapter 9

As the Veyron team walked through the cave, they stumbled upon a strange door standing in the middle of the tunnel. It looked ordinary in size, but wave-like carvings wrapped around its surface, giving it a mysterious aura. The most eye-catching feature was the fire-shaped symbol engraved at the center, hinting at a hidden secret.

Roy: "Waaah!!!!"

Noa raised an eyebrow and looked at Roy.

Noa: "Why are you so amazed?"

Roy: "Look at that symbol on the door. It looks like an ancient fire symbol."

Glen: "Whatever it is, let's check it out."

Cris: "You guys go ahead. Eee… Ken and I will stay out here and keep watch."

Cris spoke while holding Ken's hand.

Ken: "Um, I want to come too."

Ken spoke as he gently pulled his hand away from Cris.

Noa: "Cris, are you sure you want to stay here alone?"

Roy: "Or did you change your mind?"

Roy looked at Cris with a mischievous eyebrow wiggle.

Cris: "I changed my mind. Let's go in."

Roy: "Oh yeah! Veyron, let's go!"

Roy shouted and raised his hand high. They all entered the cave and saw only a straight path ahead. They followed it until they reached the end of the tunnel, where a faint light peeked in through a small pipe-like hole. The light illuminated an ancient stone cabinet with a handle but no visible lock.

Noa: "What's this cabinet doing here?"

Roy: "Maybe this is where the spear is hidden. Let's open it!"

Glen: "Careful, Roy. It could be a trap."

Glen immediately pushed Roy's hand away from the cabinet.

Roy: "Okay, okay, I get it."

Roy pouted slightly from being stopped.

Ken examined the area and noticed footprints and a faint trail behind the cabinet, as if it had been moved recently.

Ken: "Hey, aren't these footprints fresh?"

Ken said while shining his light over them.

Noa: "Ken's right. Did someone else get here before us?"

Glen: "We don't know yet. Let's check it out."

Noa: "I'll handle this. You all get into defensive positions."

They followed Noa's lead and got into position, while Ken stood, fists raised like a boxer.

Noa: "Alright, here we go."

Noa began pulling on the handle, her eyes widening in surprise. She used all her strength—even both hands—but the door wouldn't budge.

Noa: "Eeeeeh… why won't it open? Guys, I need a little help!"

They all exchanged glances, then moved to help Noa pull the door.

"Eeeeeee… huaaa!"

Even with all their strength, the door wouldn't open. They ended up falling back as Noa's grip slipped.

Roy: "What is this cabinet?"

Glen: "Don't give up. Let's try again."

They stood up and tried once more. After numerous attempts, they were exhausted, but the cabinet didn't budge.

Roy: "What kind of cabinet is this? It doesn't even have a lock!"

Noa: "Yeah, that's weird."

Cris: "Maybe it's made of a special stone that requires a certain power to open."

Ken: "That's a good point. Let's look for clues."

Ken searched around the cabinet and spotted a strange circular symbol with scattered lines.

Ken: "Hey, check this out! There's a clue!"

Everyone gathered around him.

Roy: "Looks like a rotation puzzle."

Glen: "Let's try connecting the symbols."

Roy: "How about matching it to the fire symbol on the door?"

Cris: "Good idea."

They began rotating the pieces until they formed a fire symbol. Suddenly, the circular mechanism lowered and lifted a small bottle containing a rolled piece of paper.

Roy: "Oh yeah! We did it!"

Roy cheered, while the others smiled. Glen opened the bottle and read the paper aloud.

Glen: "This is a dangerous spear. If you wish to open it, use your spirit."

Roy: "That's it?! We've been using spirit this whole time!"

Noa: "Maybe 'spirit' is metaphorical, Roy."

Noa patted Roy's shoulder, trying to calm him down.

Cris: "But what exactly does it mean?"

Ken: "Given everything we've seen… maybe it means fire."

Noa: "Fire!?"

Noa raised an eyebrow.

Ken: "Yes, fire. The door had a fire symbol. Maybe only a fire-type Arclhos can open it."

Glen: "Ken might be right. Roy, can you do it?"

Roy: "Of course, I can!"

Everyone watched as Roy placed his hand on the cabinet's handle, closed his eyes, and channeled his fire energy into it.

Suddenly, red and yellow glowing patterns appeared from the top and trickled down the cabinet. Everyone watched in awe.

Click!

The door creaked open. Roy's eyes snapped open.
