In the year 4056, the world was suddenly filled with fears when a catastrophic creation called "The Devourers" - a monstrous being born from a failed experiments of the scientists - began attacking and destroying everything in their ways. Humanity began clinging to any methods of survival with half of humanity gone in an instant for just twenty years of the devourers appearance so humanity decided to go into hiding. One hundred years later after the devourers ruled the world, a global phenomenon suddenly emerged, a sudden flash of light known as the "system" proclaimed the selection of "Apex Warriors" - warriors chosen by the Architects to be their champions - thus it became the sense of hope to humanity. Apex Warriors were given a unique and strong powers by their own Architects, a power that could rival the devourers thus humanity began fighting back. Thousand years later, humanity live in balance with their technology improving and many people were chosen as an Apex Warriors. Everyone hoped to be a chosen Apex Warrior but not for Kael. Kael lived a miserable life. His father favor his brother more, due to his brother being the son of his lover, and cast aside by his father when his brother became a chosen Apex Warrior by the Architect of Light. Having nothing left to fight on, Kael was ready to end it all and he was in a brink of his death when a sudden light emerged in front of him. 〔 Congratulations! The Architect of Misery found you interesting and chose you as his champions! 〕 Kael: Eh? 〔 The Architect of Misery grants you the power of Immortality!〕 Kael: ....... Ehhh?!?! Kael who was dumped by life was given a chance to redeemed himself by being an Apex Warrior. His problem? He really wanted to die but the Architect of Misery gave him immortality. Now, he's an immortal, and utterly miserable Apex warrior, constantly trying (and spectacularly failing) to kill himself while hunting Devourers. Will he accept this power or will this be a curse for him forever?
