Chapter 48 - The Trap is Set
The rain pours down in sheets, drenching the city as Jack, Chris, and Marcus sit in the van parked across from Lisa's office building. Chris adjusts the camera lens, focusing on the entrance.
"You really think Frank is going to crack?" Chris asks, his eyes never leaving the screen.
"He's scared," Jack says, his jaw clenched. "And scared people make mistakes."

Inside the office, Frank paces nervously, sweat beading on his brow. He checks his watch, then his phone. No reply from Lisa. His breathing quickens. The walls feel like they're closing in.
Suddenly, the door swings open. Lisa steps in, her expression icy. "You called me."
Frank swallows hard, forcing a smile. "Lisa... I... we have a problem."
"You mean you have a problem," Lisa corrects, stepping closer. "What is it, Frank?"
"Someone's watching me," Frank blurts out. "They know about the offshore accounts, the smuggling, everything."
Lisa's eyes narrow, her jaw tightening. "And how would they know that?"
"I don't know!" Frank says, his voice breaking. "I swear, I haven't said anything. But if they know, then we're all –"
Lisa slaps him across the face, the crack echoing through the room. Frank stumbles, clutching his cheek.
"You idiot," Lisa hisses. "Get your act together. You're not the only one they're watching."

In the van, Chris watches as Frank and Lisa's interaction plays out on the monitor. "Did she just hit him?"
"Yeah," Jack says, eyes dark. "She's losing control."

Lisa storms out of Frank's office, slamming the door behind her. Frank sinks into his chair, his face pale. He pulls out his phone, dialing a number with shaking hands.
"Hello? It's me," Frank whispers. "I need protection. Now."

Meanwhile, Lisa walks to her car, dialing Derek. "We need to talk," she snaps. "Jack is getting too close. It's time we take him out – permanently."
Derek's voice comes through the line, tense. "Leave it to me."

Jack watches as Lisa's car speeds off. "She's on the move."
"Do we follow?" Chris asks.
Jack shakes his head. "No. Let her think she's in control. For now, we stick to the plan."
Marcus raises an eyebrow. "And what's the plan?"
Jack's eyes harden. "We're going to force Frank to testify against her."
