A girl between two worlds

She froze in place, her eyes staring at the motionless specter, but its presence filled the room with an eerie chill, as if the air had grown heavier. She tried to scream, but couldn't. Something about him wasn't terrifying, but familiar… as if she'd seen him before, in a distant dream, or in a corner of an obliterated memory. He took a step closer. His footsteps weren't audible, but he got closer. Then, for the first time, he spoke. In a voice like an echo: "It's time, Saraab." Her eyes widened. She was shocked. Who are you? He looked at her and smiled. "I am you and you are me." He was hiding, as if he were a key to something she'd never understood. But this being… knew. "Who am I?" He whispered, "I am a part of you... and the other part is in a world waiting for you." In an instant, the walls disappeared, the ground melted beneath her feet, and her room turned into a vast void, scattered with lights, whispers, and memories. She fell. But she wasn't afraid... for the first time, she felt that she was falling toward the truth. Then suddenly, the fall stopped. She opened her eyes and found herself standing in a place that didn't resemble the earth... or the sky. A violet light filled the horizon, and voices spoke a language she didn't know, but understood. A few steps away, there was a large mirror. But what was reflected in it... wasn't her image. It was someone else. It looked like her... but his eyes were completely black, and his smile didn't belong to this world. Then he looked at her and said, "If you cross over... there's no coming back for you."
