KINGDOMS - THE MUSICAL

A Play Inspired by the Holy Ghost. Story by Sopein Deborah & Tiolúwanimí (written by Tiolúwanimí's hands)

FADE IN:

PROLOGUE:

The Stage is dimly lit and silent. A light focuses on Duncan as he approaches the stage with a rolled scroll in his hand. He stands down stage and cries out with a loud voice.

DUNCAN

Hear ye! Hear ye! Hear this prophecy. A prophecy of years to come, Two kingdoms exist, the Kingdom of Lumina and the Kingdom of Carnalia. Soon, very soon, One will be destroyed by the other. And the Kingdom that stands will reign forever and ever. Hear now and run, run to the Kingdom that will stand forever.

🥁🎺🎹🎻

In a musical order.. The people on stage begin to stomp their feet and raise their voices. Some stone the town crier.

The uproar increase.

They leave.

ACT 1

SCENE 1

PERSON 1

Stop telling fables. What could possibly go wrong?

Hear me.

No!

Listen to me.

DUNCAN

PEOPLE

(stomp their feet in unism)

DUNCAN

PEOPLE

(stomp their feet in unism)

No!

DUNCAN

Come with me.

PERSON 1

I have mansions here, why would I ever leave.

PERSON 2

I found the love of my life. We will grow old here together. The people leave the stage one by one still singing No! Jack remains on stage.

I will go with you.

JACK

The stage is set as a palace dining hall. A rectangular table sits at the center with 3 chairs by it's le and right. A tall shelf with books sits at the up le of the stage while a small bar counter is set at the up-right of the stage.

An array of finely dressed chefs mount the stage in an orderly fashion. Each one holding a tray of delicacies. They place them on the table. Musicians mount the stage taking their positions to make fine and so music.

Lord Fredrick comes on stage welcomed by the music. He has His seat as 4 finely dressed gentlemen come on stage. They bow to Him as they have their seats. The seats to Lord Fredrick's le and right remain empty.

Duncan, chest puffed in pride, approaches the stage from the Audience and the tone of the music changes to welcome him. Lord Fredrick stands in honor, the 4 sons follow suit.

Duncan goes down on his knees and his head bowed in honor before Lord Fredrick. Lord Fredrick rests his right hand on his shoulder.

LORD FREDRICK

Duncan my son, welcome home. You have done well and made me proud.

Lord Fredrick embraces Duncan as he rises. I failed you.

DUNCAN

LORD FREDERICK What makes you think that?

DUNCAN

I set a target of a 100 people father. They all didn't listen to me, they are all

blind! There's no need for this party you are throwing.

LORD FREDERICK

Duncan! That's all nonsense. Just one person is enough to throw a party for. I

am proud of you and that is all that matters.

Duncan remains sad.

Duncan proceeds to the table, his brothers greet him mostly with hugs and handshakes than bows.

HENRY

Duncan Duncan You've done it again. Congratulations.

Duncan is obviously displeased.

HENRY

Well-done brother. We all are glad with you.

They move to have their seats.

The chefs fill all 5 cups with wine. Lord Fredrick rises immediately with His cup held above his head.

LORD FREDRICK

A toast! to Duncan, my son and to a New citizen of our Kingdom.

All toast.

They have their seats as they feast and converse with one another.

Jack walks onto the stage unnoticed. He looks around fascinated by the scenery. Everyone notices Jack. All heads turned to him.

DUNCAN

You're the one I brought here. Aren't you?

JACK

I am, I'm sorry if I interrupted in anything. I was too excited to wait to finally

meet Lord Fredrick.

DUNCAN

Yes, it's fine, just wait, He will adress you soon. We are in the middle of an

important function.

Jack makes to leave. Lord Fredrick rises and speaks.

Let him come.

LORD FREDRICK

Duncan face spells confusion. Jack pauses.

DUNCAN

Never mind Father, he will be going now.

Duncan motions to Jack to leave. Jack makes to leave.

LORD FREDRICK

I insist. The feast should include the new citizen. Aer all, he is the reason we are celebrating.

Jack pauses. Francis hands him a plate and a cup of wine.

DUNCAN

He is the reason we are celebrating? I thought we were celebrating me?

LORD FREDERICK

Yes! But equally for the return of someone like him who was lost but is now found.

Lord Fredrick looks to Jack with a beaming smile.

LORD FREDRICK

What is your name?

JACK

Jack.

🥁🎺🎹🎻

LORD FREDRICK Welcome to your new Home where Love unites us all.

They musically introduce Jack to the Kingdom values and basics. Duncan is seen frustrated by the shi of attention and as they sing, he leaves.

LORD FREDRICK

Now let's raise another toast to Duncan.

🥁🎺🎹🎻

The music ends abruptly as Lord Abaddon comes on stage with two guards behind him.

LUKE Abaddon! You are not invited here.

LORD ABADDON It's a meeting for sons, isn't it?

Lord Abaddon sees Jack.

Jack, isn't it?

LORD ABADDON

Let him speak.

LORD FREDRICK

LORD ABADDON

I am here for what is mine. I was robbed in broad daylight of my citizen. Where is Duncan? He is the one who did this.

JACK How do you know my name?

LORD ABADDON

I know all those who belong to me though they may not know me. I am your Lord and you will return to my Kingdom!

He is going nowhere.

FRANCIS

Lord Frederick shoves Francis aside and speaks directly to Lord Abaddon.

LORD FREDERICK

He has chosen where he belongs, you do not have the power to choose for him.

Go, the same way you came.

LORD ABADDON

You know me too well to give up without a fight. I will hunt him down.

LORD FREDERICK

I have put my mark of protection upon him. Nothing shall by any means hurt

him.

LORD ABADDON

I see you have found a new favorite. I won't need to return here, he will return

to me, where he belongs. Lord Abaddon storms out of the stage.

LORD FREDRICK

Thank you all, my sons, for being present. I love everytime we spend together

and I hope that soon enough, we will celebrate more on your accounts. We will meet soon to discuss further.

They all leave and the chefs clear the table.

ACT 2A

SCENE 1

Francis comes on stage, he picks a book from the shelf and settles on a seat to read. Jack and Duncan come on stage. Jack hastens his steps to meet up with Duncan.

JACK

There are so many books written by Father, are we meant to study all of them?

Are they all laws we're to follow in this Kingdom? Duncan searches the book shelf, ignoring Jack's questions.

Duncan scoffs.

JACK

When you read these books, how long did it take you to find your path in

them?

DUNCAN

Give me a break from your questions please, I will answer you some other

time.

JACK

I want you to please teach me how you do these things so that I can one day be

like you.

DUNCAN

Like me? I've not found any and you won't be the first.

Duncan leaves the stage, shoving Jack aside. Jack makes to leave, he halts on hearing Francis' reassuring voice.

FRANCIS

Volume 11 of the book. I am reading it the 5th time now.

JACK

What is it about? And Where do I start?

Francis moves to the shelf, franctically searches through the shelf of books.

FRANCIS

There is a need for you to first know the basics of this Kingdom but more

importantly, you must be filled with the knowledge of who you are now.

JACK

Who I am now? Last time I checked, I'm still the same person.

FRANCIS

You grew up from Infancy in the Kingdom of Carnalia. In the same, you will

learn the ABC's and the 123's like you have just been born again here. It is a change in identity and not just location. You need training in this new identity and this is why Father has placed you under Duncan.

JACK

I honestly wish it was someone else, maybe you. I even spoke to Father about

it. Francis chuckles lightly.

FRANCIS

Duncan will come around, hopefully. He's just always task-oriented because in

true sense, there is a lot of work to be done here. Speaking of which, there's a meeting in a few minutes.

JACK Francis wraps his arms round Jack's shoulders.

Thank you.

What's a brother for?

FRANCIS

They smile.

Francis returns back to his seat.

Timothy, Henry, and Luke come on stage and take their seats on stage. Luke notices Francis.

LUKE

Francis, i could see you were quite busy. What for?

FRANCIS

Oh nothing much, just helping a brother out.

LUKE (cheerful)

Hmm.. Hello Jack. You can sit with us. Feel at home. Jack sits on Duncan's seat.

HENRY

Have you started reading the books, have you started getting involved in..

LUKE

Brother, let him breathe. Those things will come naturally as he feels at home.

Timothy finally speaks in a bold, wise voice.

TIMOTHY

He must however not be too relaxed. Fruits can rot if they are le alone, can't

they?

JACK

Pardon me, I heard there is a meeting soon, am I allowed to be a part of it.

Silence.

The brothers become curious.

Why if I may ask?

Silence.

JACK

Am I not allowed to? I have friends and family still over there, I couldn't

convince them to come with me but I can't cut ties with them.

HENRY

Family is important, we visit ours too. But while you do not cut ties with the

people, you must cut ties with the lifestyle you le behind.

JACK

Oh that's not a problem, it's just friendly, harmless visits I take.

FRANCIS

We are concerned about you that is why we say these. If you indulge your

former life, you will fall back there. So, as you go for your harmless visits, be mindful of associations and the people.

HENRY In my opinion, Don't go at all.

FRANCIS

There are people he must miss over there. But you have been taken into a new

path that requires your full focus.

TIMOTHY

There are a lot of things there that can easily tempt you. I'll advise you to only

go when entirely necessary.

JACK

You have nothing to worry bout, I assure you all.

JACK

Last question please. "Son of the month", I saw this in the hallway. Whatever

does it mean?

LUKE

This Kingdom is not without it's rewards and as Sons we are each rewarded but

not equally. We are all loved equally but rewards are earned from responsibilities.

Francis sighs.

FRANCIS

Of course! This is one of the most important things here, Fellowship with

family.

HENRY

Jack, I don't want to believe you were the one I saw at the borders of the

Kingdom.

I? When?

JACK HENRY JACK

HENRY

(confidently)

Oh yes! That was me.

FRANCIS

I, from example have been very up and doing. He has said well-done 14 times today already.

HENRY

That's impressive but not beside someone who has never missed fellowship for

the past 69 days.

LUKE

The one who tends to the matter of citizens is the one who really gladdens

Fathers heart. I am on my way to converting my 15th citizen already.

JACK So it's like a competition.

HENRY

Not at all! We just keep one another accountable.

FRANCIS

Well, I have converted 10 citizens so far.

Henry sighs heavily, turning away from the conversation.

Silence.

FRANCIS No hard feelings Henry.

HENRY

That's not my forte. I have shaky hands and feet for that. And that's why He has

never entrusted such in my hands.

FRANCIS

Definitely not! We all started out somewhere.

JACK

I will also do my best to recieve well-done's, attend all fellowships and convert

citizens to the Kingdom.

FRANCIS

We are always here to help whenever you need it.

Lord Fredrick is welcomed into the stage with the sound of music. The sons rise to take their bows. They all have their seats.

Lord Fredrick smiles at Jack's presence.

LORD FREDRICK It's a great joy to see you here my son.

Jack bows.

Timothy places a book from the shelf before Lord Fredrick.

LORD FREDERICK My sons, I have a burden.

They all incline their ears. Lord Fredrick pulls out a white envelope with a gold seal on it.

LORD FREDRICK

The heart of one who I desperately love so much cries out for freedom from

the Kingdom of Carnalia. I will be giving this task to...

JACK Lord Frederick, I would love to go.

Henry.

LORD FREDRICK

Lord Fredrick hands Henry the letter. Jack's countenance drops.

LORD FREDRICK

Find her and bring her into my Kingdom. As for you Jack, if you want to step

up to responsibility, you will handle little matters for now. Lord Fredrick walks to Jack to hold his shoulders.

LORD FREDRICK

Be encouraged, this is all you need for now. Just to dwell in my presence.

Thank you all for being here. Before we leave, I would like for us to take a moment to once again welcome Jack.

Two guards come on stage with a change of dressing for Jack. They clothe him.

LORD FREDRICK

Not because he did something but because he is my son and he is here. I

remember when each of you first stepped foot here, and looking at you I am glad at your growth. In some time, we will look back at this day and celebrate.

They all clap with warm smiles. Jack has his seat. Lord Fredrick places a ring on his finger.

LORD FREDERICK

I am putting my seal on you, nothing shall by any means hurt you. You are

mine.

Duncan comes on stage and is shocked at the happenings. He approaches Jack with an unfriendly look.

LORD FREDRICK Welcome Duncan we were just celebrating Jack.

Oh, what for?

DUNCAN (sarcastic)

LORD FREDERICK

Like I have said, his presence here is worth celebrating.

DUNCAN

Oh I can see that is why he is seated where I should be.

The guards block Duncan form Lord Fredrick

LORD FREDRICK

You do not speak to me that way. You will respect my authority over you. No

Kingdom can stand in division. If you have an issue, you meet me to discuss it.

DUNCAN

Oh! How fast have I been replaced, how fast have I been turned to a villain. If

things cannot have proper order, I might as well leave.

Duncan bursts out of the stage. Francis and Henry follow behind calling his name. Lord Fredrick bows his head in sadness.

LUKE

We actually need to get more chairs.

Timothy hits Luke on his shoulder.

LUKE

What? That would have avoided all these conflicts.

Go aer your brother. They part and leave the stage.

LORD FREDERICK

ACT 2A

Scene 2

Lord Abaddon comes into the stage in a fury. He stands with a frown on his face and his hands lain on the table.

6 men come up the stage together and they remain standing. Lord Abaddon puts on a sarcastic smile at their sight.

They have their seats.

LORD ABADDON

Welcome! Wonderful sons of mine. Have your seats and feel at home.

LORD ABADDON Oh, you actually had your seats.

Their gestures show confusion between the two options.

GYLE

Do you want us to be on our feet Lord?

Lord Abaddon laughs to himself. Gyle leans to Harry who seats beside him.

GYLE (whispers)

What does he want us to do?

Lord Abaddon makes a loud bang on the table startling them all.

On your feet! They rise immediately to their feet.

LORD ABADDON

LORD ABADDON

Have you seen the recent census? And how many citizens we have lost.

Duncan comes on stage with bold step, his presence causes a stir among the sons of Lord Abaddon. They retreat in fear of him, but Duncan boldly takes his seat.

Lord Abaddon stands up to him.

LORD ABADDON

What are you doing here? Haven't you taken more than enough of my people?

DUNCAN Hold your peace! I come in peace.

Confusion fills the air, no one is comfortable enough to sit. Lord Abaddon breaks the silence.

LORD ABADDON

You never come here in peace. It's either you take my people with you or you

leave a mark. Again I ask, why are you here? Duncan laughs soly. He adjusts himself pridefully.

LORD ABADDON

Or are you finally tired of that wretched Kingdom?

(loudly)

Let's welcome our guest properly.

Two women holding trays food and drinks showcase (probably in a musical form) before Duncan, He doesn't budge.

DUNCAN

Those don't interest me, I'm here for a more serious business.

GYLE

What makes you think you have a seat or a say here?

DUNCAN

I have what you need.

GYLE

What could that be?

LORD ABADDON (to Gyle)

Silence!

(to Duncan)

Speak.

DUNCAN

Have you ever had a thorn in the flesh? For all of you here, you have tried to destroy sons of the Kingdom but your reach is limited because of His

covering. I know what that covering is and I can help you. I want just one thing, that you get rid of the thorn in my flesh, Jack.

LORD ABADDON Why should we trust you?

Duncan laughs sarcastically. He starts to speak soly slowly raising his voice in rage to a peak.

DUNCAN

Do you know what it's like for your place to be taken? All that you have worked for all your life to be taken by one who doesn't deserve it?

LORD ABADDON Familiar story.

🥁🎺🎹🎻

Lord Abaddon tells his story angrily in a song.

DUNCAN

If my works are underappreciated, I'd rather put it into better use.

Lord Abaddon laughs loudly in sheer satisfaction.

DUNCAN

I know my Father. He always protects his sons with a covering so you won't harm them.

LORD ABADDON

Tell me more.

DUNCAN

It is most definitely a piece of clothing on him.

LORD ABADDON

I never knew you had this in you. I like this!

He laughs hysterically. He then pinpoint Gyle out.

Music stops

🥁🎺🎹🎻

LORD ABADDON

You! You have been useless to me, Duncan will have your seat, you can bring a potty or something to sit in the next meeting.

LORD ABADDON

(to Duncan)

I will offer you the finest place to stay and all pleasures you could ever think of here in my kingdom. For now feel at home, tomorrow by sunset we meet to discuss more in details.

Lord Abaddon leaves the stage with his hands on Duncan's shoulder, they walk side by side. The other sons leave.

ACT 2A

Scene 3

Jack comes onto the stage walking head on to the bar side.

Williams walk with a lady as he flirts with her. As he walks towards Jack he halts and stops to stop him.

They share a hug.

Jack! Williams!

WILLIAMS JACK

WILLIAMS

Look at you now! You're wearing ice? This must cost a fortune!

Williams examines Jack's ring finger.

JACK Oh, that's really important.

WILLIAMS

Come, get me a drink! How long has it been? You've le for days now without

coming to visit.

JACK

I'm so sorry, I have been engaged over there. We have important meetings and

all.

WILLIAMS (yawns)

Jack! Come on! That sounds boring.

JACK

It's actually not, I'm getting to know a lot of things of life I could never have

seen here. You should come. Williams laughs his heart out.

WILLIAMS

You know me too well, I'm very fine here.. The ladies, the food, no laws I don't

have to be like "Oh Father I want to go pee, is it in the book of the law?" Williams laughs in mockery. He grabs 2 bottles and hands one to Jack. Jack shakes his head.

WILLIAMS

Oh you're sober now? I mean I cannot leave all these. This is my life, I live and

die here.

JACK

I mean, the fact that you come to my new Kingdom doesn't mean you can't

always come here.

WILLIAMS (laughs)

Oh you want to live two lives. You're hypocritical. You think they'll let you.

JACK

It's not "two lives" as you see it. I'm just living, no matter where I choose to

hang out,I know where home is.

WILLIAMS Whatever you say, Bills on you.

JACK You need to get a life.

The Bar corner of the Stage fills up with waiters and customers.

Williams chugs the bottle down as he socializes with the people hanging around.

Jack plays humble on a seat at a corner.

Celesta enters and she immediately catches Jack's attention.

A public dance begins and everyone joins in except Jack whose gaze is fixed on Celesta. Drunk Williams pulls Jack forcefully to enter the pool of dance.

Jack and Celesta switch and become dance partners.

CELESTA

What's a fine gentleman like you doing in a place like this?

JACK

What's a fine young lady doing in a place like this?

CELESTA

I have many troubles, I come here to unwind. You didn't give a response to my

question.

JACK

I'd say I came here to unwind as well.

And?

I'm terribly late for a meeting with my Father. Celesta retreats from dancing with him.

CELESTA

Hmm.. You're not from the Kingdom of Lumina are you?

JACK

Forget I said anything. What might your name be?

CELESTA

That's not something I give out easy. I just met you

Celesta blushes as their eyes stay together.

CELESTA

I'm sorry, I should be on my way as well.

Celesta hurries out of the stage. Jack calls out to her.

JACK

Hey, hold on. I didn't get your name.

Williams comes to Jack drunk to stupor. He blocks Jack from reaching Celesta.

WILLIAMS

I finished the 5th bottle Jack, the bill is all on you.

He laughs hysterically. Jack shoves Williams aside to find Celesta, to no avail. Disappointment fill his face. The waitress approaches them with a frown, her hands held out to receive her due pay.

Jack's eye meet his wristwatch.

Oh my, it's five minutes to midnight.

JACK CELESTA JACK

JACK

Oh Williams.

Jack places his wristwatch on the waitress' hand.

JACK

This is all I have on me, you can sell it it's worth a lot.

The waitress examines and admires the watch. Jack helps Williams up on his feet. Jack hurries back to the waitress. She hides the watch.

The time please. She conservatively checks it.

JACK

Jack runs off the stage.

WAITRESS 20 minutes past midnight.

Oh my! I'm so late

JACK

WILLIAMS (drunk)

Hold on, who's taking me home? Everyone else exit the stage. The waitress, helping Williams out.

ACT 2A

Scene 4

Lord Fredrick mounts the stage with his sons (Timothy, Luke, Francis and Henry). Timothy goes to the Shelf to get a book, he places it on the table before Lord Frederick.

LORD FREDERICK Thank you Francis. We will begin..

A young lady walks up to the stage with a paper in her hands and kneels. Paying no attention to the people on stage. She addresses Lord Fredrick directly and rapidly.

LADY Good day Lord Fredrick.

She opens the paper in her hands.

LORD FREDRICK Drop the "Lord", you can call me Father.

LADY

So, Lord Fredrick, my rent is overdue. I have to cater for my two kids seeing as

my husband refuses to be responsible..

LORD FREDRICK (interrupts)

Slow down please. Do you want to sit with me so we can talk?

LADY

Maybe some other time Lord Frederick, I have some chores to finish. I know

that you are a good Lord and you provide, that's why I remain in this kingdom. Please provide before the deadline which is tomorrow. Thank you.

She gets up hurriedly and drops the paper into a post box by the stage. She leaves in a flash.

COLLINS

At least she stayed her longest today, 5 minutes!

LORD FREDRICK

There's so much I want to tell her but she's too clouded by her worries.

Lord Fredrick returns back to His seat. He inhales and exhales deeply.

LORD FREDRICK

There's much work to commission to you my sons, so that my people will know me.

Pause.

LORD FREDRICK

Back to our discussion, I have told you that all these books I have written and placed over there are available to you. They are for you. In those volumes, I have written about you my sons and everyone who are my people and will be my people. I encourage you to take more time to study these books and present any question to me.

Jack hurries in gasping for his breath. He stands by a corner.

JACK I'm so sorry I'm late.

They communicate musically

🥁🎺🎹🎻

This is your home.

LORD FREDERICK JACK

ACT 2A

And why are you late?

LORD FREDRICK

JACK I went to see a friend.

LORD FREDRICK

In the Kingdom of Carnalia?, what business do you have there?

JACK It was nothing serious.

LORD FREDRICK

Sit, and let me tall you a story. There was a dog who grew up in a muddy and smelly swamp. That was all he knew until a kind man came, gave him a bath and brought him home. What do you think will happen if he goes back to the swamp? If he hasn't understood the worth of His clean home, he will play in the muddy swamp again and become like his old self. It all depends on where you set your heart. Though you may pay visits, I want you to dwell here until you are sent there with a purpose. Do you understand?

I understand.

🥁🎺🎹🎻

Scene 5

Henry comes on stage, with an envelope in his hands, he paces anxiously about the stage.

JACK

Hello Henry.

Henry does not notice Jack. He keeps pacing about the stage.

Henry jolts.

Henry.

JACK

HENRY

Oh hi there Jack. How long have you been here?

JACK

Long enough to know that all is not well with you.

HENRY

I don't know how I will go about this. I never thought I could ever be this tense

about a task. I've handled many other tasks for Father but this one is just different. I keep remembering everything I had to go through over there, the fear will not let me take a feet back there.

Hmm.

JACK

HENRY

I have a lot of trauma associated with that place. I think I should open up to

Father.. but we already talked about this, it's not a good idea. Maybe I'll just delay it until He gives someone else.

JACK What if you has some sort of help?

HENRY To get over the trauma?

JACK To fulfil the task given to you.

Oh.. Any ideas?

HENRY

JACK

I have lived my life, up to this moment in the Kingdom of the World and I

know every nook and cranny like the back of my hand. I am proposing that..

HENRY

No no no, bad idea, you have no idea what it is all about, you are to be learning

form us even.

JACK

All I am doing is simple. I look for the person, link you together, and you carry

on the serious business from there. You were going to wait till time passes and Father reassign the task, as you wait, I will carry on with what I plan and you have nothing to lose on both sides.

HENRY

Hmm.. It doesn't sound too shallow. Alright I will trust you just because this

looks like my best option. Henry hands the Letter to Jack and they leave the stage.

Act 2A

Scene 6

Williams comes on stage to the bar side and sits between the two ladies. He talks with them as they blush. Jack comes on the stage with the letter in his hands. Williams looks shocked to see him.

WILLIAMS

Shouldn't you be in one of your fancy meetings learning rules and regulations?

JACK

It's not that deep Williams, I can always come here to hang whenever I choose.

Being in the other Kingdom doesn't limit my freedom.

Jack keeps shaking his head in disagreement.

would see her again.

Ooh a lady it is!

I just want to talk with her, nothing deep.

WILLIAMS

Have a drink?

JACK No! I don't drink anymore.

WILLIAMS Oh where has your freedom gone now?

Williams laughs mockingly, the two ladies join him.

JACK

Well, have you seen this lady about this tall, fair with brown hair, I was hoping I

Hmmm..

The main reason I came is to find the person on this letter.

WILLIAMS You're on a mission now I see.

JACK I am only helping a brother.

WILLIAMS JACK WILLIAMS JACK

WILLIAMS

Williams collected the envelope. Jack leans in to see as Williams opens the envelope and slowly reads the content out.

WILLIAMS

What is in it?

To Celesta.

That's the name I'm looking for. Any idea?

WILLIAMS ( jokes)

Is there a prize money for the one who finds the missing girl.

Don't be ridiculous.

JACK

JACK

WILLIAMS

Well, the name does ring a bell and I can help you..

JACK

I know there's something in it for you.

WILLIAMS

Of course! My drink bills' on you for a month.

No! Williams.

JACK

WILLIAMS

Come on! You're literally wearing a fortune on your ring finger.

No response.

One week?

Two?

JACK

JACK

WILLIAMS Okay, goodluck finding your girl.

WILLIAMS

Three weeks because we're brothers. Deal or no deal?

JACK Fine! Deal... You are unbelievable.

WILLIAMS Now you're talking.

Jack is immediately distracted by Celesta's entry on the stage.

Jack adjusts his cloth. He walks up to her and extends his hands.

JACK

Hello beautiful. It's a coincidence we're meeting again.

CELESTA

Oh hello Jack, I don't believe in coincidences. I believe everything is planned out by a superior figure.

Williams walk of of the stage with the 2 ladies.

Celesta blushes faintly.

Celesta replies sharply.

JACK Wisdom and beauty go very well.

JACK

I agree. How did you get my name, I don't remember mentioning it.

CELESTA

You did, while we danced the other night.

JACK Oh really? I never got yours.

CELESTA I won't give it out just yet.

🥁🎺🎹🎻

CELESTA

I don't believe names define one's identity.

JACK

You never reply directly. Alright then, What is your identity?

CELESTA

I come from a small home, would I call it a home? I never really knew what love meant. As a young girl i always desired a mother to comb my hair and tell me of how beautiful I am. Someone to call me "a prized flower"

Why not?

JACK

JACK

We are more alike than you imagine, I was lost in a place I thought was always my home. Until I found what identity truly meant.

CELESTA

That is what distinguishes us, I will never find mine. I am lost between a lady who is to submit to authority, some days, I just want to be free. Other days I want to be loved. You can call me a lost girl or for short, Esta.

🥁🎺🎹🎻

Their hands end up together and their eyes lock gaze.

Esther. Celesta makes to leave.

JACK

Jack grabs her back by her hands, keeping her from leaving.

CELESTA I'm so sorry I have to leave now!

JACK Where are you always hurryin to?

CELESTA Tomorrow, we'll see again.

JACK Please stay.

Jack fondle her hair. Celesta face spells worry.

You don't understand. She breaks off from him.

CELESTA

CELESTA

(voice raised)

I must leave now!

Celesta runs off. Jack pauses, throws a fist to the chair and leaves the stage.

ACT 2B

Scene 1

Lord Abaddon's sons as well as Duncan come on stage followed by Lord Abaddon's. He's furious.

She's still not here.

LORD ABADDON

GYLE No my Lord. She isn't.

Lord Abaddon's pauses. He vents on Gyle holding him by his collar.

LORD ABADDON

Did I ask for your response? Am I that blind to see that she isn't here?

GYLE I'm sorry my Lord.

Celesta hurries in and to her knees she pleads.

CELESTA

I'm so sorry, I was with him and I lost track of time, this will not happen...

Lord Abaddon cuts her with his voice raised.

LORD ABADDON

Quiet! Excuses! I don't want to hear them? The one thing I want to hear is

progress. Tell me..

CELESTA (stammers)

I have gotten to know him and...

LORD ABADDON

Was that the task given to you? To know him. Do you think that in all our books

here, we do not know enough of him? What he likes, his weaknesses, his favorite food? You think we have not done that study. It seems you have become of no more use to me. Guards! Off with her head!

The guards seize her and as they drag her, Duncan halts them.

DUNCAN

Wait! Abaddon, I though you are known for your patience.

LORD ABADDON

You didn't hear wrong. I am excellent at patience.

DUNCAN

Then understand that she needs time. A woman's ways are subtle and gradual

till she gets into his heart.

Lord Abaddon closes in on Celesta placing his hand round her neck, she struggles for air.

LORD ABADDON

I am very patient! Three days. Three! That's all I have with you. Or I will make

your death so painful that you will remember it for eternity.

He throws her to a side and paces around the stage. Celesta remains on the stage crying and wallowing on the floor.

LORD ABADDON

You know how much I love you Celesta, no one can love you as I do. I gave you

your name, I gave you a home and I gave you a purpose. You could've been roaming the streets lost out there. You are nothing without me.

Celesta shis away as Lord Abaddon moves close to her.

CELESTA (sobs)

I just want to be free. I want to explore beyond the borders that you have made for me.

LORD ABADDON

There is nothing out there for you. You will never belong out there because you

belong to me. I can however give you one day to go.

Really?

CELESTA

LORD ABADDON

Just do my simple task, You will have your desire.

Excited, Celesta hugs Lord Abaddon. He smiles sheepishly, facing the audience. They leave the stage.

ACT 2B

Scene 2

Lord Fredrick comes on stage, He walks back and forth with his hands held at his back. Jack comes in to meet him as he bows.

Lord Fredrick sits.

Pause.

Have a seat.

LORD FREDRICK

LORD FREDRICK JACK

LORD FREDRICK

Rise to your feet.

You called for me.

Yes, like I have been for a week now. I haven't been seeing you around.

JACK

I was occupied with something that..

LORD FREDRICK

You cannot please me outside of my will and instructions to you. What have I

demanded of you that you are so busy with?

LORD FREDRICK

All I instructed you to do is not to miss the meetings we have so that you can

properly learn the ways of my Kingdom because you and all my children are co-heirs here. You will only exhaust yourself trying to please who is already pleased with you.

Lord Fredrick points to the bookshelf.

LORD FREDRICK Get me volume 7 of my book.

Jack gets up and looks to the bottom right.

LORD FREDRICK

You won't find it there.

Jack looks at the top right of the shelf. Lord Fredrick examines in patience.

JACK

Can I please know exactly where it is?

Keep looking. Jack searches frantically, he doesn't find it.

LORD FREDRICK

Pause.

LORD FREDRICK

Do you see the point I am trying to prove here? You are not familiar with my

books.

JACK

What is the point of books? How do they help in pleasing you?

LORD FREDRICK

I have written them for a purpose, not because you cannot directly approach

me but to build patience and character in searching things out. I have many things to tell you but I won't place it on a platter for you. As sons of this Kingdom, you must search it out. There's a lot of patience you need to learn, don't be in a hurry to do what I have not sent you.

LORD FREDRICK

The Top right, last column, the 3rd book on the first row.

Jack brings the book out of the shelf.

LORD FREDRICK

Before you stepped foot into this kingdom, I wrote about you in this book.

Read it and learn who you are, your authority as a son and what is required of you. I will see you in our next meeting.

Jack sits to read the book. Lord Fredrick walks off the stage.

A maid comes in holding a letter in her hand, she moves towards the mail box to drop it. Jack notices her.

No response.

JACK Esta.. What's your name again?

JACK Hey! What are you doing there?

MAID I came to drop a letter in there..

Ok

JACK

MAID

It was addressed from a lady named Esta. I just put the general mail here..

Jack rises from his seat. He moves towards the mail box.

Did you say Esta?

JACK

MAID

Yes sir.

Jack empties the mail box to find the particular one she dropped.

JACK

Why would you just drop it here? Not all mails are for Father. .

The Maid hurriedly leaves.

Jack opens the letter up and reads it content. He leaves the stage.

ACT 2B SCENE 3

Celesta comes up the stage, panic written all over her face, she paces. She adjusts her dress and sits. She pours out some wine into two cups.

A little while aer, Jack walks in to meet her. They share a hug. She hands him a cup. He gulps it in.

CELESTA

JACK

Jack drops the cup and makes to embrace her. Celesta stops him.

Jack leans into her, she gives him space.

You got my letter?

I missed you too.

No Jack, not today.

CELESTA

JACK Playing hard to get again?

JACK

What's wrong?

CELESTA

I just don't feel too good and I need us to talk.

Celesta sits motioning Jack to sit beside her.

JACK What do we need to talk about?

Celesta refills Jack's cup with wine. He drinks completely.

CELESTA How much you love me

JACK

If it is anything on me, It's this ring that he placed in my right hand. I have

taken the robe off but not this one.

Jack yawns, sleepy. Celesta draws his head to lay beside her, he sleeps off. She removes the ring on his finger and places it in her cup of wine.

She fidgets as Williams comes on stage.

WILLIAMS

Oh sorry, I thought I will find him here..

Williams turns around to check the person beside Celesta again.

WILLIAMS

JACK

What happened?

I came to ask a favor. I am in a huge debt.

JACK No no Williams No!

WILLAMS

My life may just be at stake here, these people are aer me!

JACK

I won't give you any money, you know how things work over there in my

Kingdom.

WILLIAMS

But you had all those money once you can do it again.

JACK

I've heard enough from you, take your leave please.

Celesta walks towards Jack pulling him to the upstage le. Williams keep himself busy by picking the glass of wine from the table.

CELESTA

Who is he? Please make him go away. I promised my friend that it would only

be you and I here.

He stops from placing it on his lips, he checks the inside, he removes the ring discretely and smiles to himself.

JACK I'll make sure he leaves.

Jack?

Jack jolts up, Celesta gets up as well.

WILLIAMS

Williams hides the ring in his suit.

Jack returns to Williams, he makes to leave already.

I'm leaving already. Williams examines Celesta.

WILLIAMS

Williams leaves. Jack stands confused.

You know him? Celesta fidgets and fails at hiding it

JACK

WILLIAMS

You didn't do bad though. Lord A's very own lap dog.

CELESTA

He's probably seen me around somewhere.

JACK

Lord A? What do you have to do with Lord Abaddon?

CELESTA

You are overthinking. Celesta tries to be intimate with him, he stops her.

JACK

There's something you are not telling me.

CELESTA (laughs)

There's a lot I'm not telling you! You think if you really knew me you would take a second look? You have everything perfect where you came from and that's why you are so confident. You seen the freedom here that is abundant in your home.

Esta?

Celesta. It's Celesta What?

JACK CELESTA JACK

CELESTA

You speak about Love? Your love is so flawed, I've had so many like you. Do you

realize what I desire, what is my deep cry every night, or you think I need you over me? You think that's what I need? I can assure you that men are abundant here and I have seen it all, but I am still cold and void inside. You do not love me neither do I Jack.

Celesta bursts into tears. She runs out of the stage. Jack paces, then he leaves.

ACT 2B

Scene 4

The waitress comes on stage, she cleans up her counter and arranges some bottles. Williams comes in and sits on the bench by the counter.

WILLIAMS

Get a life! Debtor. Williams slams a wad of cash on her counter.

How? Williams?

WAITRESS

WAITRESS

A bottle of your finest.

WILLIAMS

Are you going to ask questions or attend to me. I can always take the money

elsewhere.

The waitress immediately grabs it in awe. She gives him a bottle.

WAITRESS

Miracles do happen!

The Waitress goes on to attend to other customers coming in.

Jack walks in and immediately gets a bottle. Williams sees him and tries to hide his face but Jack goes to sit beside him.

Hello Willy

JACK

WILLIAMS

Jack! I didn't see you there! What on earth are you doing here. Hold on, with a

bottle?

Jack takes a sip of his bottle. He laughs hysterically.

WILLIAMS

Are you good?

Jack laughs even louder. Williams is more confused.

All other customers leave, the waitress begins sweeping the floor

JACK Celesta, have you found her?

Who's Celesta?

WILLIAMS

JACK The name on the letter, you fool

WILLIAMS Oh.. That task you were chasing.

JACK

That I was chasing? You said you knew her and that you will find her. I don't

know how and why I trusted you. Again and Again, you just prove you're so selfish!

WILLIAMS Did I say that I stopped my search?

JACK You're a crook and a liar.

Watch your words.

WILLIAMS

JACK

You knew her all along but you chose to let me on like a fool. To fall and be

obsessed with her.

WILLIAMS

I do not understand. Did you find her? Hold on the lady you were with. She's

Celesta? You're a joke.

JACK

WILLIAMS

There were times I got in trouble with Lord A that I saw her always with him. I

never knew her name was Celesta. Bro! You've finally found her! That's great news, go on and give it to her.

Jack removes the letter from his breast pocket. He stares at it as he speaks.

JACK

I am obsessed with her so much that I cannot let her go Williams.

WILLIAMS

I don't understand. If you give the letter to her, you get to have her in your

kingdom and close to you. You won't have to come here to see her.

JACK Have you heard about Holiness?

WILLIAMS Never heard of that. Is that a drink?

JACK

It is a culture in my Kingdom. We can do all that we desire here, but once she

learns about Holiness, Purity, Righteousness, it would conflict her interest to be with me. If I give this to her, things will never be the same between us.

Jack stands to his feet, expressionless.

WILLIAMS

I find it hard to understand your convictions Jack. You told me once that you

can be in both Kingdoms at the same time. How is that different for her? Where do you really stand?

JACK

I am torn between my choices. Henry and most especially, Father will be so

glad to bring her home, yet I don't want to lose her for myself. Jack sobs in grief on Williams' shoulders. He gets up again.

JACK

I cannot bear a moment without her.

Jack rips the letter up. He throws it angrily on the floor. The waitress scoffs silently and sweeps the paper pieces off.

ACT 3

This is bad!

WILLIAMS

Scene 1

Celesta comes up the stage, she calls unto Jack in a panic.

WILLIAMS

Unlikely advise coming from me, do the right thing.

Williams exits the stage.

Celesta struggles to construct her words. Jack silences her.

JACK

I can't imagine a day without you.

He touches her, she brushes his hands off.

Jack, please stay away from me

JACK I'm sorry I yelled at you.

CELESTA

For your own good please you need to leave and fast.

JACK

Why would I leave with you still here?

CELESTA

I mean it! Jack please leave. I've done something please.

Jack embraces Celesta. She sobs profusely.

JACK It's okay, we'll be alright

CELESTA

It was in the cup, I didn't find it again.

JACK You need to calm down.

CELESTA (stammers)

You don't understand! Lord Abbaddon..

Two guards walk on to the stage. Celesta, frightened releases herself from Jack. Jack stands confused. The guards seize him.

Celesta falls to her knees and weeps aloud.

Lord Abaddon comes on the stage with Duncan by his side and 2 other guards. A great smile is written on Lord Abbaddon's face.

Abaddon?

JACK

CELESTA

LORD ABADDON Finally, how long I have waited for this day.

Jack struggles with the two guards pinning them to the ground.

LORD ABADDON

Too bad you can't fight back, you have let your covering down.

Jack checks for his ring, his confidence falls as he realizes it's absence. The two guards overpower him immediately. Jack notices Duncan.

You!

JACK

DUNCAN

I always knew you would go back to you vomit. Prodigal! It was easy roping

you, Celesra here was very helpful.

Jack looks at Celesta. Celesta hides her face in shame as she sobs.

Lord Abaddon walks to Celesta and fondles her hair.

He grips her neck.

LORD ABADDON Celesta! I always knew you would make me proud.

However, because you almost made me run out of patience, the only thing I will give you as a reward is your life. We still have a lot to do together.

He releases his grip. Celesta gasps for air. She sobs even more. Lord Abaddon laughs wickedly.

LORD ABADDON

I finally have two of his most precious sons on my plate.

Lord Abaddon snaps his finger. The other two guards seize Duncan shocking to him.

What's going on?

DUNCAN

LORD ABADDON

You and I have a bad history, and I never forget a man's sins. You have cost me

over half of my Kingdom over the years, I will so enjoy torturing you and watching your Father's face when I do.

Lord Abaddon laughs loudly. They exit the stage.

ACT 3

Scene 2

At the Kingdom of Lumina, Lord Fredrick comes on stage to place a book in the shelf. Henry comes on stage fidgeting.

HENRY

Father, I must confess something to you.

Okay, walk with me. They walk out of the stage.

ACT 3

LORD FREDERICK

Scene 3

The sons of Lord Abaddon come on stage, excitedly waiting.

The troupe return to the stage. Duncan and Jack are tied down with their back skin bare. They are flogged to the pleasure of Lord Abaddon.

Lord Abaddon watches in utmost pleasure.

Jack and Duncan are le tied down in the stage. A guard stands and keeps watch over them. Celesta sneaks in with a bag, the guard stops her.

CELESTA

You stop me? I know how you sneak to steal from the treasury. Lord Abaddon

will be really interested to know.. He let her through to meet the captives.

Jack. Jack ignores her presence.

CELESTA

Celests sits by him.

CELESTA

Even I have not forgiven myself but I can't bare to see you this way. I brought a

little food and something to help with pain.

JACK

It was all my fault, There are two desires usually at war within me. One to

please my Father and the other to satisfy my lusts. As proximal as these two Kingdoms are to each other, their ways are not the same. One tends to my inborn desire and one to the new desire. I knew better than to give into my desires.

CELESTA

I wish I understood what you are saying. I also wish I can have the privilege to

see things over there. This place is all I've known. He deceives me again and again, he will never let me go. I am like you, tied down and in bondage.

JACK

This was why Father prepared a letter for you.

Celesta's face lights up in realization.

She lowers her tone.

What do you mean?

CELESTA

JACK

I've wronged greatly. Again, I have proven that I can't handle responsibility

even in small matters.

CELESTA

Being here for years, one thing I have seen is how Lord Abaddon is constantly

beaten black and blue by your Father. His power has no match.

JACK

I could use such power right now.

(loudly) That's it!

CELESTA

CELESTA

Write to Him, I will make sure it gets to Him.

Duncan breaks his silence with a laugh.

DUNCAN

How long do you think He will put up with your incompetence? It's cute that

you think you can run back home like a lost puppy.

JACK

For once I find truth in his words. I have cost my father so much

CELESTA

You have nothing to lose. Would you rather die here?

Celesta gives Jack a paper and pen, he begins to write. He hands it to Celesta. Lord Abaddon walk unto the stage. Celesta hurriedly hides the letter in her dress. She retreats.

What are you hiding?

LORD ABADDON

I just came to..

CELESTA (stammers)

LORD ABADDON

Keep quiet!

I have heard the prophecies and how tragic your end will be. Lord Abaddon is provoked, Celesta walks off with a sigh of relief.

LORD ABADDON

Quiet! I'd advise you both to begin your last prayers, it won't be long when I

will finally end you. Your deaths will be painful, shameful and slow. I will watch you die as I laugh.

Lord Abaddon moves to his seat and his sons begin to come in. They are served wine as Duncan and Jack are placed before them and beaten.

Loud cries of pain as well as laughter fill the scene.

Soon, Timothy and Luke march in and make a formation demanding their brothers.

TIMOTHY Abaddon! You have done enough.

LORD ABADDON

But the party just began, have your seat and enjoy the show.

Lord Abaddon drinks and laughs.

LORD ABADDON

You and I know that I have legal grounds to torture them. They have done so

many wrongs.

TIMOTHY

The punishment will be le to their Lord.

Lord Abaddon laughs really loud.

LORD ABADDON

Let them speak for themselves and tell you who their Lord is. Jack on one

hand, has been enjoying and living under the culture of my Kingdom engaging in all sexual pleasures and drunkeness.. Oh Duncan! He amazed me, on that day that he set foot in my kingdom to seek my help, he chose to submit under my Lordship. They were blind, they didn't realize and that's why I love ignorance! Are you not aware? The sons of Lord Fredrick pitched their tents here. Let me be, you have nothing against me.

LUKE

Brothers, You can choose to be free. The ball is in your court whether you will

go with us or not.

Duncan remains in a depressive position, his head faced down. Jack faintly cries out

JACK

If I can pray to my Father for help and He responds, how much more is He

able to save me from death in your hands.

JACK

I'd rather die in my Father's house than stay a moment here. I'd rather he slay

me than to die by your hands. I don't belong here!

Jack is whipped.

Speak!

Abaddon, you are a sore loser.

JACK

LORD ABADDON JACK.

LORD ABADDON (laughs)

Yet you came to dwell here.

JACK

I don't belong here!

Jack breaks free from his hold. He tries to run but he is pinned down by a guard.

JACK Let me go! I don't belong here.

Jack struggles to break free, his strength fails him. He manages to look up to his brothers and speaks with a fainting voice.

Help me.

JACK

His brothers attack the guards and a fight erupts each man with a sword. The sons of Lord Fredrick fight bravely overpowering the majority. The fight ends with a lot of men on the floor and Jack behind the sons of Lord Fredrick. Duncan remains on the ground.

JACK Duncan! Come with us.

DUNCAN I deserve worse than death.

LORD ABADDON Then let's get it over with.

Lord Abbaddon approaches Duncan with his sword and stabs him. Jack is stopped by his brothers from jumping at the scene.

JACK

No!

Lord Abaddon and his sons leave the stage, Duncan's body is carried out.

ACT 3

Scene 4

Lord Fredrick comes on stage, he stands to watch from afar. As he sights Jack coming from the far end of the stage, He runs to meet him.

Jack halts, he breaks down to the floor in tears as he prostrates.

They walk out.

Father.

JACK

LORD FREDRICK Rise up my son, I'm glad to see you.

He embraces Him and the guards bring new clothes to the stage. Lord Fredrick keeps looking on. Luke breaks the news.

LUKE

Father, we tried.

Lord Fredrick sobs loudly on Timothy's shoulder.

Jack's cloth is changed.

The other sons come on stage and attend to Jack. They hug him.

JACK

I don't deserve all this Father. I am overwhelmed. It should've been me dead,

twice I have failed you. Lord Fredrick embraces him.

LORD FREDRICK

None of you earned my love, I am your Father, it's my obligation to you.

However Jack, it is important that you stand. It is for your good that you remain obedient to me. You are not a child, I regard you as a son and you must take responsibility. You could've brought Celesta home if you were obedient to me.

JACK You knew about Celesta?

LORD FREDRICK

Henry came clean to me. You got distracted, I didn't send you in the first place.

JACK

I thought I could be here and there. I am deeply sorry Father.

LORD FREDRICK

I do not want your words of repentance but the actions that follow.

The other sons begin to leave one by one. Jack prostrates before Lord Fredrick

Lord Fredrick giggles.

JACK

I will walk in a way that will please you Father. I will stay here and not set foot

in that place again.

JACK Father, I mean my words.

LORD FREDRICK

I know son, however you may step foot there but your heart must not dwell

there. You are to dwell in this Kingdom where I will walk you into being that which I have planned for you. What do you think will happen to Celesta?

JACK

I don't know Father. Is there something I can do?

LORD FREDRICK

Those are the words I love to hear. Come let me tell you.

They exit the stage.

ACT 3

Scene 5

Lord Abaddon arrives furiously on stage. His sons avoid his burning eyes.

LORD ABADDON

Where is she?

Celesta is dragged into the stage by a guard. Lord Abaddon mal-handles her by throwing her repeatedly to the ground.

LORD ABADDON

You! You helped him escape didn't you? You will take his place tonight.

Jack comes on stage with 2 brothers.

LORD ABADDON Oh, back so soon? What a pleasant surprise.

Jack approaches Celesta with a letter. The two brothers hold Lord Abaddon's hands to his back, restricting his movement.

JACK

Your desire has always been to leave this place that you have always known as

home. There is a home for you in Peace, Joy and Eternity. Come with us now. Celesta is unsure, fear grips her at Lord Abaddon's loud laugh.

LORD ABADDON

Can't you see that she belongs here with me? Celesta, I brought you up, I gave

you everything that you needed without you paying a dime.

CELESTA

At no cost? It cost me my whole life in bondage to you!

LORD ABADDON

Oh! You raise your voice at me. You may have grown wings but they are clipped

so you cannot fly.

Celesta examines the letter handed in by Jack's hand, thinking to make a choice.

LORD ABADDON

What do you think they will think of you over there? You are filthy and used,

you have no use and no worth. That is why I picked you up and raised you here.

Celesta weeps at his words.

JACK

Celesta, where I am from, there is no condemnation of any sort. Look at me,

my father embraced me in my undeserving state. How much more you. You can experience true Love, not with me but with the one who authored Love. Say yes Celesta and accept this Truth. Your freedom is right in your mouth. Do you believe that all I say is true and do you accept it?

Lord Abaddon's guards come on stage, they fight with the 2 brothers releasing Lord Abaddon to run towards Celesta.

LORD ABADDON I will not allow you say it.

CELESTA

As she reaches to receive the letter, Lord Abaddon pushes Jack hard to a fall.

Yes Jack Yes!

You belong to me.

LORD ABADDON

Lord Abaddon grips her neck, staring intently in her eyes, watching her lose her breath slowly. She turns still as ice, he throws her body to the ground.

With a smirk on his face, Lord Abaddon halts his guards.

LORD ABADDON Halt! Let's see what will become of her now.

He laughs and leaves as his guards follow right behind. Jack sobs by her.

JACK

I should have been quicker to respond! It's entirely my fault.

LUKE

She said Yes Jack at least. Father would be glad.

They carry her body off the stage.

ACT 3

Scene 6

The sons of Lord Fredrick come on stage, Lord Fredrick comes on stage.

All chorus: "Yes Father"

LORD FREDRICK My sons, do you believe?

LORD FREDRICK In this Kingdom, there is no death but life.

Are they back?

LORD FREDRICK

FRANCIS

Not yet Father.

Jack and the brothers come with Celesta's body on stage. Lord Fredrick signals them to lay her on the table.

LORD FREDRICK

Is all hope really lost sons? Can the dead live again?

Murmurs amongst the sons.

FRANCIS

It will be wrong of us to say no because you have in recent times opened this

topic on healing.

LORD FREDRICK

Shall we put it in practice? It flows from me into and through you.

Lord Fredrick motions them to join hands, they form a circle around Celesta's body. All heads bowed except Lord Fredrick.

Celesta rises up with a deep gasp of air

Shock and jubilations fill the air as Celesta examines her surrounding.

Lord Fredrick wears a big smile as he beholds her. He opens his arms to her. Celesta examines herself instead.

LORD FREDRICK Celesta, my prized flower.

Uncomfortable, Celesta runs to a side of the stage. Jack walks up to her.

JACK

This is my home Celesta, these are my brothers and my father. You'll meet the

whole people soon. Celesta shyly waves her hands to them.

The brothers walk up to her individually introducing themselves and shaking hands. Lord Fredrick stands directly in front of her.

LORD FREDRICK It's okay Celesta, you are home.

He spreads his hands wide.

Celesta runs to accept his fatherly embrace. She sobs profusely.

CELESTA Jack! This is new, this Love.

JACK

You just touched the surface. I promise you.

Jack stands upright to say.

JACK

Bring a new dress, bring the best meat and wine, for my daughter has come

home!

FRANCIS

They all laugh as they embrace Celesta. Music plays as the curtains fall.

That's Father's line.
