Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6 Sanctum Arcanum

"+100 +50 +50..."

Listening to the system's beeps, Ressa asked, "System, is it possible that this crystal ball is broken? How did it break? Its quality is too poor!"

"Ressa, could it be that your talent is too great? The crystal ball couldn't withstand it, so it shattered. The last person who broke a crystal ball was the Archmage of the Crown."

"What? So I'm really a genius? I can be as good as him in the future?"

Hearing this, Ressa was thrilled. Didn't this mean she could also become a famous magician with a high status someday?"

"That's for sure!" The system was just as surprised. I didn't expect my host in this life to be so gifted. It seems there's hope this time.

"Healer Paul, may I know what type of magic do I belong to?"

"That one requires another tester, this one will be tested for you tomorrow by the headmaster of Sanctum Arcanum."

"Okay, thanks."

Early the next morning, sunlight poured into Ressa's room through the window.

"Ressa, get up! We're going to Sanctum Arcanum today to test our abilities!"

The system completed its daily task of waking Ressa up, just like always.

"Let me sleep a bit more... I was so excited yesterday I didn't fall asleep until midnight. Just five more minutes."

"Don't sleep! Don't you want to take the test? Don't you want to find out what your magic type is?"

Hearing those words, Ressa immediately opened her eyes, just as her maid knocked on the door.

"Lady Ressa, are you awake?"

"I'm awake, come on in."

Once everything was ready, Ressa had expected only her mother to accompany her, but she was surprised to see Theodore and Gabriel in the carriage as well.

"Are you coming along?"

"Of course! It's a shame we missed it yesterday. I want to see it again this time! I dropped it on the ground before, and it wouldn't crack, but Ressa, you just touched it, and it exploded!" Gabriel said excitedly, looking forward to it even more than he had been to his own test at school earlier.

The Rector of Sanctum Arcanum had received the news yesterday and immediately activated the fastest portal, shortening a journey that would have taken a day to just three hours. When they arrived at the school's entrance, the headmaster and teachers were already waiting outside the carriage.

"Mother, are we late?" Ressa asked, surprised, as she looked at the rector already standing there, thinking they had arrived late.

"I guess they were waiting to meet you. Let's go."

Seeing that the main character of the day had finally appeared, the Rector of Sanctum Arcanum, Magnus Dellingray, greeted the Countess with a smile.

"Welcome, Ressa. I'm the Rector of Sanctum Arcanum, but you can call me Rector Magnus. These are the teachers of the various magic faculties. I've heard about your talent and wanted to see which magical faculties you would awaken. Is there any in particular that you're interested in?"

"Hello Rector Magnus, if possible I would like to have ice magic!" In the original world every time she saw those characters with superpowers in the films, she herself fantasised that if she had superpowers as well, she wanted an Ice one, just as powerful as Elsa in the movie named Frozen, Ressa's eyes glowed when she thought about it.

"Haha, if it's ice magic you're awakening to during your downtime, then welcome to join us! I'm Elowen Virelle, the director in charge of ice magic."

Seeing the smug look on Director Elowen's face, the other department heads couldn't help but feel irritated. After all, every director present wanted Ressa to be their student.

"Ressa, hello! I'm the director of Light Magic. We're here to..."

"Ressa, why don't you consider us for Spell Magic? It's so much fun here. You can..."

"Get out of my way! Spell Magic is something every faculty learns by the fifth year, and it's still ours! Ressa, you don't know what you're missing in Alchemy..."

"Summoning magic!" "Light magic!" "Rune magic!"

Except for the director of Natural Magic, the directors of the other departments were all scrambling to introduce their own sections to Ressa, trying to attract her. As for why the directors of Natural Magic were indifferent? That's because there was no need! They planned to directly demonstrate their magic to Ressa, or even send the most handsome boy from their department. They didn't believe they couldn't attract her, but it had to be said, the handsome guy might just be able to do it.

"That's enough, you guys! They're all Heads of the Magic Departments, what do you think they look like? Ressa, don't mind them, they're just too excited. Come on, let's go and do another test first."

"Okay, Rector Magnus."

Seeing this scene, Ressa's family members felt proud of her, especially the Countess. Although she appeared breezy, she was practically bursting with pride and wanted to tell the world how amazing her daughter was—no one could compare!

Arriving at The Arcane Hall, Ressa saw that this was the place where talents and magical attributes were tested. Usually, it's only open for new students each year, but it's been specially opened today because Ressa is special.

Seeing a mirror in the middle, Ressa curiously asked, "System, what is that mirror for?"

"This is Aetherglass. It's a device that can test which magical attribute you belong to. All you need to do is stand in front of it, and it will reveal the result in the mirror. It's just a bit bad-tempered, so don't let it scold you."

"Cursing me? System, do you think the mirror will break?" Hearing the system's words, Ressa thought that if the mirror dared to curse her, she would definitely break it. After all, with so many magicians around, it wouldn't break if it were dropped.

"Don't worry, Ressa. Someone smashed it once before, and it was Headmaster Magnus who fixed it. That's why its temper isn't as bad as before."

"Really? Then I'm relieved." Ressa looked at the mirror in the center with great interest.

Rector Magnus had already received a reminder from Healer Paul and the Countess, so he wasn't too surprised. The other teachers, however, were shocked when they heard Ressa talking with the system. Though they were all department heads and had seen many things, this was the first time they had encountered someone who could hear another person's heartbeat.

Reigning in their shock, everyone present now looked eagerly at Ressa, waiting for her test result. "Ressa, place your hand on this crystal ball, just like yesterday."

Once she did, the crystal ball exploded, and at that moment, the eyes of the crowd watching Ressa grew even more intense with admiration.

"Now, step in front of the mirror and do nothing but stand." Aetherglass had the ability to explore other people's minds, and if it dared to say anything bad, Ressa would smash its mind. It surely knew that, so there was no need to worry about how to seal its mouth shut.

Aetherglass didn't say anything. When Ressa stood in front of it and saw that it was the little fool from Earl Evans' family, it had wanted to tease her. However, when it heard her thoughts, it immediately shut up. Even though it could be restored if smashed, it still hurt a little during the process. So, it was better to know when to hold back.

However, it soon realized that Ressa's mind contained something it couldn't see, along with a vague aura of magical power emanating from it. This surprised it greatly; it was the first time in thousands of years it had encountered something like this. The magical attributes of the person in front of it were also completely new to it.

A few seconds later, the crowd saw a few words slowly appear in front of their eyes, reading...
