Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

LYON'S POV

The ride back to the pack house was quiet, it was difficult for me to tell what was going on in her mind but what was for sure, she was in pain.

"Are you alright?" I suddenly asked yet there was no response from her until we finally arrived at the pack house.

Cassidy stormed right inside like she was familiar with the place and knew exactly where she was going.

"Where is my room?" That was the first question she finally asked and I pointed her upstairs to the room opposite mine, Cassidy stormed upstairs and once she was in her room, she slammed the door shut.

"She doesn't look like she is going to be an easy one to handle, are you sure about this?" Mason asked while he had been staring at her all this while in disbelief

"She said she can heal my legs"

"And you believed her?" He asked curiously, I swirl the wheel around, that way Mason could finally see how I feel.

"She knows things Mason, she knows that I have been shares of the company, people don't just know things like that, unless they are blessed by the moon goddess"

"As much as I want to believe that, I would suggest you don't get your hopes up, there are several things that we don't know about her yet and until we are certain of this informations, she might just be a spy sent by your stepmom"

He explained and but I ignored his words and wheeled myself up the stairs. I stood at the center of the hallway, staring at her room with curiosity, it was so hard to know what was in her mind and the only way that I could find out was having a conversation with her.

I gently placed a knock on the door, but as soon as I did, I instantly regretted it. I was just about to retire back to my room when the door swung open.

Cassidy stood before me wrapped in just a towel. But I froze right that instant, not because of how beautiful her skin was radiating but rather as a result of the bruises that filled her skin.

"What—- what the hell happened to you?"

"It's what happens when you don't have a mother to speak on your behalf and you grew up fighting all your battles alone"

Even though she was speaking about herself, yet her words felt like I was the one that she was referring to.

I could feel that connection with her, our pain was the same like it was fate bringing us together.

"Trust me, I have been there all my life and I know what that feels like. I was just about to go to bed and decided to check up on you"

"I am hungry!" She blurted And I was stunned for a moment.

"What!"

"I haven't had anything to eat all day"

"Oh, I see. The cook doesn't come until tomorrow but I could ask Mason to make you something really quick"

"Is there any noodles I can quickly make myself?"

"Oh, sure you can find that in the kitchen"

"Thanks" She remained cold, like she was still in shock regarding what had happened, as she retired back to her room, I also knew that it was time to go back inside even though I knew that I was never getting even a wink of sleep prior to my trauma after my accident.

The next morning, I got up from bed all sweaty, having to deal with all the nightmares and the trauma. I finally got up from the bed and did not bother trying to sleep again.

I soaked myself for a long while in the tub, once I felt more relaxed, I forced myself out of the tub back to my wheelchair and right then, I heard the door open.

"Alpha, you already had your bath?" He looked stunned knowing that he had been the one assisting me in having my bath, but I was going to be getting married today and now, I needed to learn how to handle some certain task.

"Yes I did, come help me get dressed" without hesitation, he went over to the dresser where he picked up a dress for me and as soon as I was fully dressed, we strode downstairs but one of my guards had that disappointing look on his face, that could only tell me that my step mother was at it again.

"What is it this time?" I gently asked, knowing that no matter the situation she chose to throw at me, I was going to stay calm.

"The Queen has stopped the chef from coming over to make you breakfast, she also insisted that you will have to start doing the cooking yourself"

A frown spread through his lips as he explained the situation.

"What. First she takes everything away from him and now she wants him to starve to death!" Mason sneered filled with anger yet I remained calm even though I knew that none of my men had ever been to the kitchen and they all had no knowledge about the basics of making a meal.

"Don't worry, I am here now. I will do the cooking!" A voice suddenly spoke from behind, it was Cassidy all dressed up in a white straight gown.

I had no idea how.li g she had been listening, but as she walked towards us, there was this smile on her face that only showed that she was more cheerful than yesterday.

"You know how to cook?" Mason asked with his eyes wide open, watching her walk to the kitchen.

"Trust me, my meals would be the best that you are ever going to have" she expressed playfully as she winked at me, but I ignored her and wheeled myself back to the living room knowing that this crisis had been sorted out even though I knew that there was more coming our way.
