Chapter 1 - The New beginning

This is where everything began, where existence was found and became contradiction. Where it all begins

The World of Ovalis – Expanded Lore

Ovalis is a layered and spiritually-charged realm, forged from echoes of forgotten energies and ancient cosmic decisions. It is a world where spiritual forces, called The Loom, flow through unseen dimensions and etch their will onto the bodies and souls of the living.

Power is not earned simply through strength, but through scars, rituals, and the ghosts of ancient beings—creatures that once ruled the skies, now reduced to spectral parasites clinging to mortal hosts. The very essence of power here lies in a spiritual contract that turns ambition into curse.

The Ages of Ovalis

1. The Age of Chaos

Before time was charted or maps were drawn, there was only chaos. All beings, realms, and dimensions collided in an eternal storm of hunger, conquest, and spiritual fire. The world was raw, untamed, and shaped by the Tear of Shadow, a cosmic drop that birthed immense power and equally deep ruin.

The Tear allowed beings to tap into Loom energy, but at great risk—it reshaped them, twisted their bodies, and often erased their humanity.

Power flowed like blood, and wars were waged by titanic spirits and beasts of living void.

No laws governed reality; only dominance and ruin.

2. The Era of Sages

After the ruinous chaos, came the rise of the Sages, led by the ancient race of the Voidborn (Faraghiyun)—pale-skinned, white-haired, black-eyed beings of immense spiritual affinity. Among them ruled the twin sages: Raim and Adnalmanu, believed to be sons of the one who descended from the Tear of Shadow—a being known only as The One Who Wasn't.

These twins structured reality into five major races:

The Celestials (Samah) – godlike beings who ascended and left the earth.

The Silent Ones – order keepers who act as spiritual regulators.

The Haijon – peaceful, isolated dwellers of hidden lands.

Humans – adaptable and mortal, later rulers of the Seven Empires.

The Voidborn (Faraghiyun) – cast into a dimension akin to hell after they grew too dominant.

The Celestials, once equals to the Voidborn, banished them after their pride and hunger grew uncontrollable.

The world was divided into dimensions and layers, each with its own laws, as the Celestials disappeared into higher planes.

3. The Dawn Era

In the present, the legacy of the ancient ages still lingers. The spiritual systems once regulated by the Sages have begun to unravel. Signs of Voidborn resurgence appear—tiny, invisible spiritual creatures, remnants of Voidborn essence, have begun escaping their prison dimension. These micro-creatures infect human hosts before dying, leaving behind marks—spiritual sigils that grant the host immense power.

If the creature dominates the host, it turns them into a raging beast with great strength but no control.

If the host overcomes the creature, they gain control of the ability and imprint, becoming a Markbearer, a wielder of forbidden Loom energy.

However, these marks are dimensionally unique—they cannot be transferred or shared. Each spirit mark is exclusive to the host's spiritual body and will burn away or kill those unworthy.

The Loom – Power System

The Loom is the spiritual essence of the world—an ethereal network of cosmic threads that weaves through all life and reality. It manifests differently among the five races:

Celestials manipulate time and space.

Voidborn absorb and mutate Loom from others.

Silent Ones regulate, seal, or rewrite Loom structures.

Humans harness Loom via tools, rituals, or inherited marks.

Each Mark is like a cursed gift—whispering temptation, threatening identity, but unlocking godlike strength.

---

Major Races of Ovalis

Humans – divided into:

Purebloods – ordinary mortals, rulers of empires.

Djinn – spiritually awakened with minor elemental influence.

Ifrits – fire-blooded hybrids with destructive potential.

Shayatin (Devils) – humans who have willingly bonded with rogue Loom marks, gaining chaotic powers.

Voidborn – the exiled race of spiritual aristocrats, now reborn as unseen parasitic entities. Once regal and divine, now cursed and fragmented.

Celestials – ascended beings, worshipped as gods, untouched by mortal suffering.

Silent Ones – masked entities that act as guardians and judges of the Loom balance. Few see them. Fewer survive the encounter.

Haijon – peaceful, semi-reclusive, with deep knowledge of the Earth's inner Loom. Their homeland remains hidden to most.

Themes and Story Potential

A cursed protagonist inherits a dying Voidborn mark and must decide: succumb to the beast inside or bend it to his will.

Ancient ruins whisper secrets of the Tear of Shadow and the return of The One Who Wasn't.

Civil wars among human empires erupt as more markbearers emerge.

The Silent Ones begin eliminating all Loom anomalies—protagonist included.

The last descendant of Raim or Adnalmanu may be alive... or already taken.
