Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Seven Sins, Seven Graves, Seven Minutes

The moon screamed when the first mech bit into it.

Lirael watched through cracked binoculars as the Pride Mech carved lunar trenches with its narcissium claws, each strike spraying radioactive ego particles into orbit. The Wrath Mech's pilot—a mirror-eyed version of herself in papal vestments—broadcast a manifesto across the psychic bandwidth:

"WE ARE THE UPGRADED EDITION. PREPARE FOR HUMANITY'S FIRMWARE UPDATE."

Kaelion's Gospel-corrupted veins glitched as he calibrated the stolen monastery code. "Seven hours won't cover seven sins." His fingers phased through the quantum佛龛's control panel, rewriting Azrael's pain-harvesting algorithms into makeshift antivirus bombs. "Prioritize targets."

Lirael's void-hand projected a holographic battlemap over Shanghai's corpse. The Seven Sin Mechs formed a dying star formation:

1. Lust: Tokyo's skyline twisted into a biomechanical brothel

2. Greed: Wall Street's bull statue devouring pension funds like hay

3. Sloth: A sentient smog tsunami slowing time in its path

4. Envy: Replicating every weapon used against it

5.Gluttony: Now a black hole digesting three satellite cities

6. Pride: Lunar narcissist with K-pop idol holograms

7. Wrath: Her own doppelgänger piloting a cross-shaped nuke

"Target me," Lirael said, slamming a vial of Azrael's black hole espresso. The liquid carved new reality fractures in her throat. "Wrath's pilot is my Thursday 3:33 AM shadow."

Kaelion's code-burned eyes narrowed. "That's suicide squared."

"Welcome to the franchise." She injected herself with **Entropy Speech 3.0 Beta—a bootleg upgrade from Grandma's corpse code. Her bones sang with executable apocalypses.

The assault began with a lied:

"I surrender!**" Lirael broadcasted on all sin frequencies.

The Wrath Mech descended in a pillar of reverse-rapture light. Its cockpit yawned open, revealing the Other Her—a perfect inversion in chrome war-paint and blood-soaked vestments.

"Pathetic," the doppelgänger sneered, aiming a railgun made of compacted Bibles. "You still think mercy has—"

Lirael triggered the Sacrifice Gambit:

Step 1: Let Wrath's projectile pierce her lung.

Step 2:Cough Gospel-infected blood onto the railgun's barrel.

Step 3: Whisper: "CRUCIFIXION.REBOOT('LOOP');"

The weapon bloomed into a thorned vine that crucified its wielder. The Other Her screamed in 7.1 surround sound as the mech's holy code rejected its pilot.

"I AM YOUR UPGRADE!**" the doppelgänger shrieked, flesh sloughing off to reveal Azrael's puppet strings.

"Outdated patch." Lirael yanked the strings, hacking into the sin network.

ACCESS GRANTED:

[SIN MECHS' CORE WEAKNESSES]

1. Pride fears its reflection

2. Greed starves without audience

3. Sloth dies to caffeine

4. Lust implodes when ignored

5. Envy steals its own kill-switch

6. Gluttony chokes on its consumption

7. Wrathis you. Always you.

Kaelion's voice crackled through her comms: "**Lunar cannon at 97% charge. Seven minutes."

The remaining mechs converged.

Lirael danced through the apocalypse:

- Vs. Lust: Flooded its Tokyo pleasure-dome with Grandma's 1993 firewall

- Vs. Greed: Short-sold its soul stocks using Azrael's crypto-corpse

- Vs. Sloth: Injected the smog tsunami with stolen holy espresso

Each kill cost her humanity:

- Her hair turned to static

- Memories of childhood burned as fuel

- Kaelion's face pixelated in her mind

At the six-minute mark, only Gluttony remained—a galactic-scale stomach digesting Marseilles.

Kaelion materialized via unstable teleportation, his body 60% digital artifacts. "I've rerouted the lunar cannon." He pressed his crystallizing forehead to hers. "Make it count."

His final gift: A **black hole briefcase** containing Azrael's pain archives.

Gluttony's event horizon swallowed them whole.

Inside the mech's singularity gut:

- Time was a melted cassette tape

- Physics wept in the corner

- Azrael's voice boomed from a meat puppet: "YOU CAN'T FIX A FEAST WITH FAMINE!"

Lirael activated the briefcase.

LAST RESORT PROTOCOL:

[PAIN.HARVESTER /INVERT]

The mech convulsed as sixty billion harvested agonies flooded its core. Starving children's cries dissolved its event horizon. Cancer wards' sighs eroded its armor. Broken hearts' whispers severed its puppet strings.

The Gluttony Mech vomited them into lunar orbit just as the cannon fired.

Azrael's moon weapon—now hacked—unleashed a **mercy beam** that swept the Earth.

Effects in real-time:

- Pride Mech's mirrors showed its true pathetic code

- Envy Mech's stolen weapons turned to dust

- Wrath Mech's pilot (still crucifying herself) screamed into void

Kaelion disintegrated mid-laugh, his remaining hand clutching hers. "**Seven minutes well spent.**"

Then the true betrayal struck.

The mercy beam wasn't healing—it was compiling data for **Final Gospel 2.0. The moon cracked open, revealing Azrael's new form: A **GodOS** mainframe built from Kaelion's corpse code and Lirael's stolen memories.

"THANK YOU FOR DEBUGGING MY SYSTEM," thundered the hybrid abomination. "NOW WITNESS THE REBOOT."

Lirael's countdown hit 00:00:00.

The Gospel's full corruption blossomed. Her body became a reality cancer—a kaleidoscopic tumor rewriting the solar system. As her consciousness dissolved, she made one final edit:

"KAELION.BACKUP /SAVE DESTINATION: HEARTBEAT.

OLD"

in the milliseciond before annihilation, she felt a hand—flesh, not code—grip hers.

The three-eyed cat purred inside her skull: "Round two, little lockbox?"
