Chapter 1 - The Fragment Of Me

A Novel by [NASKILABOT]

Chapter 1: The Breaking Point

The battlefield was quiet now. The war had ended, but the wounds it left behind would never heal.

Leon lay on the cold ground, his body barely clinging to life. Blood pooled beneath him from the deep stab wound in his back. His vision blurred, and the only thing he could see was the woman he had sworn to protect his wife, Serena.

But she wasn't looking at him.

She was tending to her friends, her hands shaking as she wrapped their wounds. Her eyes, filled with worry, never once turned to him.

Leon tried to speak, but the pain was unbearable. His fingers dug weakly into the dirt, trying to reach for her, but he knew she wouldn't come. She never wanted to marry him. To her, he was nothing but a bastard, a beggar, an annoyance. She had only agreed to the marriage to ruin his life.

And now, she had gotten what she wanted.

Leon's breathing grew shallow as darkness crept into his vision.

Then,

A deafening explosion tore through the sky.

A surge of energy erupted from within him, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. The power shattered into fragments, each piece vanishing into the unknown.

Serena and her friends turned, eyes wide as they saw Leon collapse completely. His body lay motionless.

But they weren't alone anymore.

A figure emerged from the shadows, his presence radiating pure rage. His eyes burned red, his aura thick with malice.

A voice, eerily familiar yet terrifyingly foreign, echoed through the air.

"You did this to us."

Serena's breath caught in her throat. The figure smirked, his expression filled with bitter amusement.

"I am his anger. And I will make you all suffer."

The nightmare had only just begun.
