EPISODE 1
" Babe, Babe.. I said yes , I said yes " Lilian shouted as she walked into her friend's apartment. She flung her bag on the bed inside her friend's one room self contained.
" It's a lie. It's a lie, Lily. I'm so happy for you. Oh God when ohhh.. Awnnn , my friend will soon be Mrs " Calista said admiring the glittering engagement ring on the finger of Lilian.
" This calls for a celebration. We need to party and celebrate this engagement" Calista said and brought out a bottle of wine which she hid under her bed. She brought out two glass cups and kept them on the fancy side stool inside her room. She popped the wine and they began to drink.
Lilian was so happy that she was going to get married to the man of her dreams. But on the contrary, her friend wasn't happy for her at all. Oscar was also her dream man. The fact that it was her friend Oscar chose over her was a bitter pill she couldn't swallow. Both Lilian and Calista celebrated the engagement but Calista was far from being happy for her friend. Lilian picked up her phone and called Debbie telling her about her engagement and where she was enjoying herself with Calista. Deborah asked Lilian to give her some minutes and she will be there with them.
It took quite a few minutes and Deborah walked in. She hugged Lilian in excitement and then took her glass and gulped down the juice it contained.
Deborah, Lilian and Calista were best friends. They had known each other for a while. But Deborah was always busier because of her work. She worked in an office unlike the others who weren't yet employed.
" Lily is finally going to leave the market soon. She won't be tagged as available anymore. She's going before us " Deborah said filled with emotions. Then she hugged Lilian once again.
" I hope I'll be the next in line " Deborah said with a smile.
" I know you both will follow suit , we all are going to be Mrs. No one is to be left behind" Lilian said nodding her head and smiling.
A few weeks later, wedding preparations had started. Lilian needed help getting some things and sending them to her fiance's house. She called Calista to come give her a hand. Calista was happy because she had gotten the perfect opportunity to reach out to Oscar who had been beyond her reach for a while due to the way her friend always protects him whenever they were together.
Lilian left to do some shopping with Calista. When they were still in the market, Calista began to make gestures suggesting she suddenly fell sick. Lilian asked her to go back home and take some drugs but she insisted she was going to help her out with the shopping before going back.
After a while, Calista left for Oscar's house with Lilian. They kept what they had bought and Calista crashed on the sofa pretending to be seriously sick.
" ohhhh. .... " Calista said softly placing her hand on her head.
" What is happening? Is the sickness getting worse? Is it malaria? " Lilian asked with so much care in her eyes.
" No , no. I forgot the bag I was carrying inside that shop " Calista said and held her head with her hands.
" It's okay, Calista. I'll go get the bag and also get you some drugs okay? " Lilian said. She then walked into the room and told Oscar her friend was lying on his sofa which she was sorry for. She told him she had to get something she had forgotten in the market and would be right back.
When Lilian left, Calista was surprised that Oscar didn't even care to check up on her. She stood up and then went towards his room. She adjusted her clothes and pushed her bra so her cleavage would be seen. Then she knocked on his door.
Oscar opened the door slowly.
" Good afternoon , Oscar "
" Yes, Good afternoon Calista. How can I be of help? He asked with a mild smile."
" Please, can I get a glass of water and some Panadol from you? My head aches so much " Calista said with a bedroom voice.
" Wait a bit " , Oscar said and closed his door. He then came out with a pack of Panadol tablets. He handed them to Calista.
" You can take water there inside the kitchen." Oscar said pointing towards the kitchen.
As Calista took the para from Oscar, she walked a bit and then fell with a thud which attracted Oscar's attention.
" What happened? Are you sure you are really okay? Oscar asked trying to help Calista up.
He carried her and placed her on his sofa. But Calista didn't let go of his arms.
" Please stay with me. I feel safe in your arms " she said and held him closer to her exposed cleavage.
" What are you doing Calista? What do you think your friend will say when she walks in and see us in this position? " Oscar asked raising his brow!.
" You don't know who Lilian is. If you really know what she has been doing behind your back, you won't even go ahead with this marriage. I just love you so much and don't want to see you in pain when you find out who truly Lilian really is. " Calista said.
" Enough!!! , you don't talk about my wife to be in such accusatory tone. Don't let me walk you out of my house " Oscar said and walked into his room. Then he shut the door. He wondered what Calista was really talking about. He trusted Lilian and loved her too. He was sure Calista was just jealous of her friend.
A few minutes later, Lilian walked in with the little bag Calista had forgotten at the market and some drugs. She asked Calista to take some drugs but she said she was already feeling better and would be on her way back home.
When Calista left, Oscar wanted so much to tell Lilian what her friend said behind her back.
" Baby, are you cheating on me? " Oscar asked Lilian.
" Where is that coming from? You know I love you so much and can't even think about it. " Lilian said with a smile.
" I love you too. That's why I want to spend the rest of my life with you " Oscar said and then opened his arms for Lilian who lay inside them.
Days rolled in their orders till the wedding day of the two lover birds.
Oscar was all dressed and inside the church. His wife to be came a bit late but was looking so ravishing and stunning in her wedding gown.
The sermon was going on and Oscar's phone kept vibrating. He didn't want to bring his phone out but the continuous vibrations indicating messages trooping into his phone got him curious.
He took out his phone and saw over 30 messages from an unregistered number. Oscar's countenance changed as he kept looking at the content of the messages sent to him. He stood up abruptly looked at the priest in charge.
" I'm so sorry, I can't continue with this marriage. It's cancelled" Oscar said with an almost teary and annoying voice.
He turned, looked at Lilian and walked out of the church in quick steps.
Lilian immediately stood up and tried to follow Oscar. She couldn't understand what was really going on. She stepped on her wedding gown and slipped. She fell down and Oscar didn't even care as he left the premises in his car.
