Yul couldn't understand why they were apologizing. So he asked to get some clarification, "What are you apologizing for?"
"We slept in your room without permission. It was actually the maids. They made us wait here, though I had asked for a room for Inu. I couldn't find Devin either to ask for help. Just get us another room and we will leave." Liya explained.
"And then what? You will sleep in another room on your wedding night and everyone can find out…? Is that what you want?" Yul walked to his bed and started removing all the decorations done for the wedding night. It was really an eyesore.
"No. I didn't mean that. You can get a room for Inu and then I can sleep with him saying he was afraid to sleep alone, and it would be a good excuse…" Liya tried to explain.
Yul wasn't listening to Liya anymore as he knew it wasn't going to lead anywhere. Instead he asked, "Did you two eat anything?"
Both of them hadn't eaten anything for the whole day. But she didn't want to eat anything from here either. So she lied and said that they did.
After finishing changing the bed cover Yul went to where Liya and Inu were still standing. He saw the finished jar of candies Inu was carrying earlier. So that must be what they had eaten.
"Even if you wish to starve, you should feed the child properly." Yul said looking at the jar. Liya sensed that he had found out the lie and looked down in guilt.
"You better change. There is dress in the cupboard." Saying this Yul went out to get some food. At first he thought about calling some servant to bring food. But then he changed his mind and went to get it himself.
Liya and Inu looked at each other without knowing what to do next. Then she thought about what Yul had said. No matter what the situation was, she shouldn't let her son stay hungry. Even though she had given some fruits to Inu earlier, he still lacked a proper dinner. So she decided to obey Yul.
Liya found clothes for both her and Inu in the cupboard. She could guess that Devin arranged everything. She took out a pair for Inu and went to wash him up.
When Yul came back with some soup and fruits for them, Liya had already bathed Inu and changed him into nightwear. Yul placed the food platter on the table near the sofa and asked them to eat.
Liya brought Inu and fed him the warm soup. Yul kept looking at them because Liya was still not eating anything except for the first sip she took to check the soup. "You should have some too, lest you faint like today." Yul said and went to change.
Liya didn't understand if Yul said it out of concern for her or because she almost embarrassed him today. Anyway she ate some after she made sure Inu had his fill and waited for Yul to come out of the wash room.
As soon as he came out after a bath and changed clothes, Liya stood up and went to the dressing table to show something to Yul. She said, "I have placed all the ornaments here. Do check it to see if anything is missing…" and waited for Yul to come and inspect it. She wanted to ensure that nothing was missing and she had returned everything properly.
Liya was actually making Yul surprised each moment by her naivety or was it stupidity? He didn't go to the dressing table, instead picked up the finished food platter and took it outside. Then he took a thick blanket from the closet and went to sleep in the couch.
While lying down, he said, "All those ornaments belongs rightfully to my wife, which you became. So just keep them if you don't want to wear, but don't take off the rings and my mom's bangle. They are a must as people will easily notice its absence."
Liya didn't reply to that as she didn't know what to say. She just looked at the ring on her foot which she had actually forgotten to remove and felt very awkward. Then she wore the white bangle and the ring with Yul's name again. She suddenly felt that they weigh a lot than it actually was.
Since Yul was already lying on the couch Liya made Inu to sleep on the bed without further talking. She made him sleep and then to change herself.
Yul was reading some financial reports on his phone when Liya came back from her bath in nightwear. For the first time he noticed Liya's hair. She was wiping her wet hair standing in front of the mirror on the dressing table. Water droplets were falling from her long black hair as she was wiping it using a towel with both her hands. She was wearing the white bangle on her left hand and seeing Liya from the side reminded him of his mother.
His mother also had long hair and wore that bangle on her left hand. Yul remembered how he used to watch his mother do her hair sitting near to her dressing table. Those were really some fond memories.
Yul was still watching Liya lost in his memories when Liya turned only to find Yul looking at her. Their eyes met and both retracted it suddenly. Yul went back to reading his report and Liya quickly went to sleep alongside Inu.
Inu was already asleep but Liya couldn't because of the presence of Yul. She tossed and turned on the bed. Yul could hear her restlessness but didn't ask anything.
Finally Liya spoke. She asked Yul, "When we will be leaving tomorrow?"
"Only by evening probably... Why the question?" He asked in return.
"I just wanted to know." She said.
"There is a morning prayer at the mountain temple which everyone has to attend. It will be around noon when we return. So I expect us to leave by the evening." Yul replied as he turned to look at Liya's direction.
Liya was also looking at him at that time and the situation became really awkward now. They both turned the other way without speaking anything anymore and tried to sleep.
While at the mountain temple, the high priest was still in his meditation while the younger monks were preparing for tomorrow's prayer. There was an old photo of a young man and two little girls, beside the prayer beads next to him. It was the same people Liya had seen in her vision.
