Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: Uninvited Guest and the Talking Novel Drama

The next day, Nick and his wife made an unexpected visit to Greenland Villa.

As soon as they stepped inside, Queenie, Tracy, Alice—and even John—were struck speechless.

But the real shock came when their eyes landed on Marcia.

They froze in place.

They were stunned.

Because she looked so familiar.

She looked almost exactly like someone they all knew.

Their eyes darted back and forth between Marcia and Queenie.

The resemblance was uncanny—they were nearly identical.

For a brief moment, it felt like time stopped. And then, everything clicked.

The truth revealed itself without a single word.

Sure enough, when Nick and Marcia explained everything, Queenie broke down in tears. She could barely speak through her sobs.

It turned out that her real family was none other than the prestigious Yeats Family, one of the most powerful noble clans in New York State.

When Queenie had first met this couple, she'd been icy—aloof and emotionally distant.

And with good reason.

She had spent her entire life believing she ended up in an orphanage because her parents had abandoned her. To her, there was nothing more unforgivable.

She never imagined she'd one day stand face-to-face with them, let alone be expected to acknowledge them as her mother and father.

Twenty-five years of resentment was not something easily cast aside.

Even if they came bearing apologies, Queenie—who had been forced to grow up alone, discarded and forgotten—had no reason to accept them. No reason to forgive.

But then… she heard the whole story.

They hadn't abandoned her. They had believed she was dead.

She had been taken away, lost under tragic and mysterious circumstances. And for all those years, Nick and Marcia had mourned her.

That truth shattered the wall in Queenie's heart.

They had suffered too.

They had spent twenty-five long years in grief.

And now—reunited—the pain of the past could no longer hold back the flood.

The three of them embraced tightly and cried bitterly, as though trying to make up for the lost years through tears alone.

John, Tracy, and Alice watched in silence. Their expressions were complicated, mixed with joy, melancholy, and something unspoken.

They were happy for Queenie, of course.

But the moment stirred something deep in them—because they, too, had grown up as orphans in the Sunshine Welfare Center.

John especially felt conflicted.

Unlike most, he had the resources to uncover the truth.

With his control over the Seven-Two Intelligence Network—two-thirds of which operated internationally, and the rest within the U.S.—it would've been easy to find out who he and his sisters really were.

But he hadn't.

Five years ago, when he left the Taoist temple, his master—the old Taoist priest—had given him one final piece of advice:

"Leave it to the will of the heavens. The truth will come to you in time."

That was why John had never gone searching. He waited, just as the old priest instructed.

And now… watching this reunion unfold… he couldn't help but wonder:

Was it fate?

Had they all ended up in that orphanage together by mere coincidence—or had someone orchestrated it? Bound them together intentionally, for some greater purpose?

The more John thought about it, the more uneasy he became.

What role had the old Taoist master played in all of this?

What did he know?

It was a mystery, one that weighed heavily on John's mind.

Just then, a voice pulled him from his thoughts.

"Your name is John, right?"

It was Nick.

John looked up, startled. Nick's tone was firm but not hostile.

"Can we talk in private?" he asked.

John nodded silently.

They stepped outside the villa, into the cool air. Nick stood still for a moment, gazing at John as though trying to measure the man before him.

Finally, he spoke.

"I'll be honest with you."

John opened his mouth. "Uncle, actually—"

"Let me finish," Nick interrupted sharply.

John fell silent.

He had wanted to explain that it was his responsibility—his duty—to protect Queenie. But Nick didn't let him get that far.

His tone turned harder.

"I'm grateful for what you've done for her. I am. But from now on…" Nick paused, his gaze narrowing. "I don't want you getting entangled with Queenie again."

The words cut deep.

John stood still, unsure how to respond.

Nick's demeanor was protective, even aggressive—clearly acting as a father who had just found his lost daughter and wasn't ready to share her with anyone.

But there was more to this than paternal instinct.

There was a warning hidden in his words.

And John felt it clearly.

The conversation was far from over.
