Chapter 1 - WELCOME TO HELL: Chapter 1 The Plague: Day 163

I had a dream, that I was back at home in the country. Everything was so bright and beautiful. The birds were chirping, the tall pines swaying in the breeze, the wildflowers in bloom. I was at home, my place of peace. Then everything faded to black, next thing I know, all of the trees were ablaze. My family lying bloodied and dead on the ground, I started to sob as I stood over their bodies, "No, god no, not again" I awoke to my teammate shaking me "Echo get up..." "ECHO, GET UP!" They shouted. I sprung up out of my cot, "What's wrong? Did we have a breach in the barn Kelsey?" I asked. "No" She replied. "You were crying in your sleep so I thought I would wake you up". "Oh" I said. "Well, thanks I guess". "So, are we going out for supplies today Echo?" Kelsey asked. "Yes, we are. Grab your gear and hop in the truck, I'll be out shortly." I replied Kelsey walked out of the small barn to the truck as I got up and walked to the dresser and grabbed a simple white Tee and some cargo pants and my backpack that's full of medical supplies, food, drinks, knives, and etc. Then I walked to our weapon storage and picked up a spiked bat and a 9 mm pistol. I then walked out of our small base, It was a simple barn we slept in for the night. I picked up my cot and rolled it up before I tucked it away in my bag. I walked out of the barn and jumped in the passenger side of the truck while Kelsey was in the driver's seat. "Ready to go?" She asked. "Yeah, ready whenever you are" I smiled. We took off in the truck headed out for supplies. We stopped at a gas station to fill up on gas and loot the gas station at the same time, I grabbed snacks and drinks while Kelsey filled up the truck. Then we hopped right back in and continued our journey. How did this all start you may ask. Well let me tell you the story, the story that changed my life forever.
