Chapter 1 - Chapter -1 Authors notes

Please give this fic a chance

Rewriting this because looking at the numbers…this drops off about half of my potential audience.

I'm a new writer, so go easy on me. When starting this story, it went very different to how I planned it, certain story stuff was written horribly so I'll be writing the first couple of chapters again.

The plot centres around Michael Sandro (now named Shin), a regressor who was down on his luck before being gifted the system as he died. This is a gamer fic as the name suggests, but some functions take a backseat for character related stuff instead.

Now I shall explain the system as it was from the story start, more functions were added later so don't worry if you don't like what you see right now. Expect more of these 'Author notes' chapters in the future.

There are 8 main stats.

Strength (the user's raw power behind attacks not including chakra)

Vitality (The health and stamina contained in the player's body),

Chakra (The maximum capacity the user holds for chakra),

Chakra Control (CC) (The efficiency in which chakra is converted from stamina/chakra to techniques)

Luck (The chances of receiving rarer items from occasional lotteries and landing hits on vital points of the opponent's body)

Intelligence (The player's ability to make calculated and smart decisions under pressure and the ability to retain information)

Willpower (The player's ability to stand against any obstacle no matter how tall. This also improves the user's ability to exert their will over others in the form of KI (Killing Intent))

Charisma (The user's ability to persuade, convince and entertain others)

System Functions

Monthly lottery: A monthly event where the player can roll for certain items like techniques, scrolls, money, stats, clues for puzzles and even special quests.

Quests: The user will receive quests with exp and stat points as rewards. Rarely will titles be given for quests and usually are given for actions like 'Jinchuriki' which would be received after sealing one of the 10 bijuu inside of yourself or with the help of a partner.

Special quests: These quests are rarer than the regular and are issued by the system itself. An example of what could be a special quest is "Hunt down and kill Kisame Hoshigaki of the hidden mist" see how it says kill instead of defeat? These quests may have ramifications to the main story like Itachi pairing up with an OC or a non-canon rogue shinobi that may be boosted to fit S rank status. These quests will have far higher rewards than a normal quest which could include anywhere between a new bloodline to an entirely new system function like extra title slots.

Titles: At the start of the story 1 can be equipped and changed instantly. You can win more slots through the lottery or through special quests. Titles give boosts to starts or experience gain at the cost of having restrictions for the boosts for example 'Bloodthirsty' may give +20% to all damage against opponents you intend to kill. Powerful talents may come with drawbacks like "Poisonous chakra" All chakra attacks can inflict a poison debuff on the enemy with the drawback being you can't exchange or give chakra without first purifying it which would take a long time.

Skill tree: A very powerful function of the system, every main level gained will give you 1 'skill point' that can be used on your skill tree. The skill tree can provide passives, active skills, titles, system functions, stat boosts, etc.

Raid quests: The last of my planned features is the raids. The user will be transported to a pocket dimension containing holograms of any people you have over 60 reputation score with. These holograms will help you fight the strengthened boss from the main story or side stories. For example, you make a good impression on the Raikage A and perform several acts of heroism for the village so you have 60 reputation score with him, you open the menu pick "Nagato" as your selected boss and you will be teleported to the battlefield. Once a raid is complete hours - seconds real time would have pass so 30 minutes means half a second. If you fail a raid you cannot retry for 1 month without using a raid ticket from the lottery.

Levels

A main level is gained for every 5 levels you earn across your skills. Each main level gives you 5 stat points to put in and 1 skill point to use on your skill tree, they can be distributed however you want. Skill vouchers gained from lotteries also increase your level.
