Chapter 70 - War Plans

Galen patrolled the southern part of the town and saw the immigrants following the base farmers to the farms in an orderly manner.

Seeing that he didn't need to direct them, he went to the town hall to summon his generals and discuss his next plan with them in advance.

As soon as he entered the courtyard of the town hall, Amor walked up to him with a hesitant look. Galen didn't pay much attention to his expression, but asked him to send guards to summon Omar and Fadir's teams for a meeting.

Amor suppressed the words that were on the tip of his tongue and went outside to order the guards to notify each team separately. The prince's order was important, and he could always ask the prince separately after the meeting.

At the same time, Galen asked Gandalf to go to Thistlefur Valley and bring Aragorn over. In fact, the distance from Hamerfall to Thistlefur Valley wasn't far, only about two hours away, but Galen didn't like waiting, and the Archmage's teleportation was faster, so why not use it?

While waiting in the town hall, Galen saw a dozen boxes placed in the corner of the hall. He walked over and opened them, and saw that they were coins, including gold, silver, and copper coins.

This should be the funds transported with the immigrant team. Most of them were copper and silver coins. Galen took six thousand gold coins and prepared to give the remaining coins to Hamon, the logistics director, for the three thousand Highland soldiers' salaries and equipment maintenance, and other expenses.

To be honest, Galen could now be considered a rich man, even a nouveau riche. He carried more than two hundred thousand gold coins, and the Origin Heart's resource column also had five hundred thousand units of gold recharged from the kobold ancestral property.

According to the thinking of real-time strategy games, resources should be used to churn out troops and research technology. Otherwise, if the enemy launches an A-move, you'll have resources but no troops to fight back, and you'll easily be wiped out.

In his previous life, when Galen first came into contact with Warcraft and StarCraft, he often made such mistakes, developing technology step by step, with thousands of resources in hand, but without churning out troops. He was defeated by the opponent's early rush and had no gaming experience.

This was also the main reason why he switched from playing against others to playing single-player games.

Now Galen's barracks were running at full capacity, consuming the gold produced by the mines. Most of the resources in the resource column were reserved for building branch bases. While the Stormwind Kingdom could still resist the Orcs for four or five years, this precious time must be used to build a good foundation.

Why does it feel like I'm playing a defense game, with a five-year countdown, and I'm going around hunting monsters to build branch bases, collecting resources to build troops and defense towers, and then when the time comes, a large wave of red monsters will swarm out?

Time is tight, and the task is heavy!

The enemy army will arrive on the battlefield in five years, please be prepared!

I'm thinking nonsense again!

I need to get down to business.

Sitting in the main seat, Galen connected to the Origin Heart.

During these two months of waiting, Galen went out to play during the day, and connected to the Origin Heart in the hotel at night, remotely replenishing the farms in Hamerfall, increasing the number of farms to one thousand, and then silently watched the progress bars of the various barracks training soldiers, eventually falling asleep during the progress bars.

In these two months, more than eight thousand six hundred new farmers were added. Galen gradually added them to the one thousand completed farms in Hamerfall, and also added them to the work teams in the mines and lumber yards.

The eight barracks increased by seven thousand six hundred and eighty people in two months, which was close to the number of a legion. After this combat plan was completed, Galen planned to build a new legion under his command.

I haven't thought of a name yet, but when the time comes, I must choose a high-end, atmospheric, and classy name, one that makes people feel awesome as soon as they hear it.

And there weren't as many other types of troops. After upgrading to a level-two main city, the training time for the unlocked troop types was very long, almost one day per troop.

The two workshops in Kobold Valley produced sixty new airships. Sixty priests and wizards were trained in other places. The Gryphon Aviary had stopped operating. Galen didn't plan to train Dragonhawk Riders in the next few years, and only trained eighteen for reserve.

The mortars were being produced in the Minas Tirith workshop. Currently, the gun mounts and supporting shells could equip forty-two squads, which might be useful for attacking Witherbark Village.

When the time comes, let Gandalf go to Minas Tirith and bring the newly trained troops. He himself would set off from Hamerfall, and the troops stationed at the branch bases, would dispatch nearly two legions, totaling fifteen thousand troops.

Ah ha, these two months weren't wasted, they cured my fear of insufficient troops.

Just as Galen was in a state of reverie, the key members of the Scarlet Flame Legion's various thousand-man teams had arrived and were waiting for Galen to start the meeting.

Galen glanced at the audience. Everyone above the rank of squad leader was present, so he announced the official start of the meeting.

First, let me introduce the new member of the Scarlet Flame Legion, Hennie. He will lead a three-hundred-man squad under the command of Gandalf the mage.

Through Galen's direct promotion of Aragorn to the captain of the thousand-man team last time, Aragorn's ability was obvious to all later. Everyone had already discovered that their prince had a very high eye for talent and was very good at employing people.

So the dozen or so people present didn't have too many objections and congratulated Henney one after another.

Alright, now let's report on the situation in the past two months in turn. Amor, you start first.

Amor commanded Gandalf's thousand-man team north of Hamerfall, as well as the cavalry team stationed in Varrokal to the south, which was equivalent to being responsible for the entire defense of Hamerfall.

He stood up and said, "Hamerfall has been harassed by small groups of trolls from the north in the past two months. They retreat after a single strike and don't engage in prolonged battles. I suspect they are from the Witherbark tribe in the Hinterlands, and their purpose is to investigate the specific situation of Witherbark Village to the south."

"Yesterday, ten thousand immigrants from the royal capital have all arrived and have begun to be arranged to enter the city. Currently, Harmon of the Logistics Department is in charge of this matter."

"That's all!"

After Amor finished speaking, Aragorn stood up immediately and said, "There have been difficulties trying to infiltrate from the north and south directions of Kobold Valley, most of whom have been captured by my department. Since a troll scout successfully broke through from the south last week, this infiltration has stopped."

Aragorn looked ashamed.

"I suspect that a troop has been hidden in the mountains to the north, but the Alterac Mountains are covered with dense forests, which is conducive to the movement of forest trolls, and my troops are insufficient to conduct a search. Please, Your Highness, issue the next instructions!"

Omar and Fadir were stationed in the south, and nothing major happened to them in the past two months. They only stood up to report on the training routine.

"It's not your fault that the troll scout broke through, Aragorn. As the saying goes, guarding for a long time will inevitably lead to loss. You only have a thousand people, and the Alterac Mountains are too big. It was within my expectations that the news of Witherbark Village would reach Shadra'nor early."

"The time is ripe. We are now strong and well-equipped. We have let Witherbark Village, this piece of fat meat, go for too long. This time, we will bring it under the rule of Stromgarde!"

Everyone was waiting for Galen to say this. The people under Galen, except for Amor and the two base heroes, the oldest was a former member of the guard, who was only in his early thirties. This was a golden age, and military exploits were what they were looking forward to.

Especially Varrokal, who was named by Galen again, was the most excited. He had been touring Dalaran with Galen for two months and was bored to death. Not complaining was already because of his loyalty to Galen.

"When the immigrants in Hamerfall have completed their settlement, it will be the time for us to attack. Amor, the adjutant, will stay for a while to discuss the battle plan with me. The rest of you go back and prepare to depart at any time!"

"Meeting dismissed!"
