Ayana needed an escape. School had drained her, and the stress was beginning to weigh on her smile. So, she packed a small bag and went to her brother Aziel's house for the weekend. The moment he opened the door, his familiar warmth washed over her like a comforting breeze. To help her unwind, he took her out for a casual night in the city—laughter, food, and freedom.
The next day, Aziel threw a celebration at his home. He had just secured a huge contract, and the victory called for music, drinks, and a lively crowd. Ayana dressed up in a simple black dress that hugged her frame and revealed the soft glow of her collarbones. A jade pendant sat just above her chest, catching the light as she laughed with her friends. Her skin shimmered like diamond, and she moved with effortless grace.
Across the room, Ebin and his friend Ulrik walked in just as she was speaking animatedly with her friends. They both froze.
"Who is that?" Ulrik asked, his eyes wide.
Ebin didn't answer—he couldn't. His gaze was locked on Ayana.
Both men stood there, captivated. She was stunning, and neither could deny it. They exchanged a glance and a grin. Each had the same idea—to find a way to talk to her.
But Ulrik had a glint in his eye.
"I'll be right back," he said casually, already walking away.
Ebin didn't notice the smirk forming on Ulrik's face.
Whatever he was up to, it wasn't innocent.
