The Beast Soul Archives

• Beast Souls

Definition:

Beast Souls are the crystallized essences of lifeforms—whether beasts, monsters, or extraterrestrial entities—that contain fragments of their power, instincts, and evolutionary traits. When a creature dies under specific conditions (typically during high-energy combat or through special methods), their soul condenses into a Beast Soul rather than dispersing.

• Beast Soul Ranking System

Ranks:

Beast Souls are divided into ten primary ranks, from the weakest (F) to the strongest (EX). Each jump in rank represents a tenfold increase in raw power, energy capacity, and evolution potential. Ranks not only determine the strength of the beast, but also the difficulty in taming, absorbing, or merging with its soul.

Beast Soul Ranks:

F Rank

Color Code: Grey

Description: Minor animals and low-tier beasts; barely combat-capable.

E Rank

Color Code: Green

Description: Basic wild-type monsters; slightly enhanced physiology.

D Rank

Color Code: Blue

Description: Elite variants of E-rank creatures or minor magical beasts.

C Rank

Color Code: Purple

Description: True monsters; capable of tactical thinking and elemental use.

B Rank

Color Code: Red

Description: Advanced beasts, often commanding packs or territory.

A Rank

Color Code: Gold

Description: Highly intelligent, near-boss-level creatures.

S Rank

Color Code: Black

Description: Mutated, ancient, or awakened beasts with complex abilities.

SS Rank

Color Code: White

Description: Beasts of legend; often tied to natural phenomena or myths.

SSS Rank

Color Code: Silver-White

Description: Beings on the cusp of divinity, planetary-level threats.

EX Rank

Color Code: Void/Prismatic

Description: Unique class. Either singular in existence or beyond classification; often tied to cosmic law or fate itself.

• Elemental Affinities

Beast Souls also come with one or more Elemental Affinities, which define their strengths, weaknesses, and special skill sets when fused or summoned. These affinities can clash or synergize depending on the soul-user match.

Beast Soul Types (Function-Based)

Types define how Beast Souls manifest and evolve within a host. This is separate from elemental affinity and rank. A soul can be, for example, a D-Rank Fire Elemental Summon-Type Beast Soul.

Types:

1. Summon-Type

Manifests a spectral or spiritual projection of the beast that fights alongside the user.

2. Assimilation-Type

Alters the user's body at a genetic/soul level; gives traits like claws, wings, exoskeletons.

3. Core-Type

Becomes a passive source of elemental power, often enhancing spellcasting, resistances, or regeneration.

4. Instinct-Type

Improves reflexes, combat awareness, danger sense, and battle analysis.

5. Domain-Type

Allows the user to generate a limited "field" based on the beast's original territory (e.g., Fire Field, Blood Mist Swamp, Gravity Well).

6. Artifact-Type

Transforms into weapons or tools the user can summon—blades, cannons, armor, etc.

7. Symbiotic-Type

A sentient beast soul that communicates with and grows alongside the user; may offer insight or guidance.

8. Rebirth-Type (Very Rare)

Protects the user from death once or mutates the user upon near-death, triggering an evolution.

9. Phantom-Type (A-ranked and higher)

Exists between the material and immaterial worlds; often has reality-bending powers.

10. Fusion-Type (Unique to EX-tier)

Can merge with another Beast Soul or with other entities; unstable but limitless potential.

Note: From Rank A and above, Beast Souls may possess multiple types simultaneously—making them drastically more versatile and dangerous.

A-Rank Beast Souls can have up to 2 types (e.g., Summon + Instinct).

S-Rank and SS-Rank may possess up to 3 types (e.g., Domain + Artifact + Core).

SSS-Rank Beast Souls can manifest 4 types, creating complex battlefield strategies (e.g., Domain + Summon + Artifact + Instinct).

EX-Rank Beast Souls are the pinnacle of existence, capable of embodying up to 5 different types at once, essentially functioning as a divine toolkit.

> Additionally, EX-Rank Beast Souls are always sentient, possessing full awareness, intelligence, and sometimes even their own goals or personalities.

They are known to speak, form contracts, or even resist absorption unless the host is worthy or offers sufficient compensation.

Some EX Souls act like companions or patrons, while others function more like ancient sealed deities—only cooperating when their conditions are met.
