Chapter 1 - Prologue; Curse

"AAARGH..."

"AHHH..."

"HEEELP!!"

"..."

"..."

Screams of agony and pleas echoed from every part of the world.

Earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and other natural disasters erupted—the Earth seemingly fed up with its inhabitants, trying to root them out.

Chaos ensued.

Death and destruction painted every corner.

The skies darkened with smoke from the flames below, dark clouds looming yet refusing to pour.

Streaks of lightning crackled, descending like tribulation, claiming flora, fauna, and human life.

....

In a space separate yet part of the Earth, a beautiful virgin garden stood, its purity unbroken by man.

The sky, a brilliant blue, dotted with stars like a nebula.

A lone figure sat on a tree-like chair, the thick foliage above shading her from the sky's brilliance.

Her bright green hair cascaded to her feet, covering her motherly bosom and sliding between her thighs, veiling the doorway to her womb.

"Hey!! The heck is going on...?"

She turned to the foreign voice that had entered her territory.

Her gemlike emerald eyes met a chaotic crimson red—its owner a bear of a man, clad in pristine golden robes, his sleek black hair falling to his shoulders.

The perfect specimen of a man.

"Mammon, see for yourself..." The beautiful woman gestured for him to join.

Mammon appeared instantly by her side with a single step, his crimson eyes reflecting the projection before him—the chaos of their realm, and something else: foreign energies seeping through nearly invisible dimensional cracks.

"Could this be his doing...?" He narrowed his gaze, brows creased in worry.

"Gaia, stay put. I'll investigate this myself." With that, he vanished, leaving the otherworldly woman with a strange glint in her eyes.

Mammon reappeared on Earth, his gaze sweeping across its entirety in seconds, searching for the dimensional cracks fueling the chaos.

"Found them."

He dispersed again, appearing miles north—where a dark purple, fingernail-sized fissure hovered inches above the snow.

He bent down, crimson eyes glowing subtly as he scrutinized the crack.

"It really is him..." A shiver ran down his spine.

His fists clenched, thoughts racing for countermeasures.

"It's still not too late." He relaxed his grip, expression loosening.

Orange energy surged through his veins, condensing at his fingertips.

With a saturated glow, he pinched the crack, snuffing it out like a flame—but not without consequence. A stinging pain wracked his body.

He winced, fatigue etching his face. One crack down. Hundreds remained.

"Okay, onto the next." He disappeared again.

...

Hours later, he had sealed every fissure—his body nearing collapse, breaths ragged, eyes drowsy.

Too weak to return to his realm, he staggered into Gaia's domain: the Garden of Eden.

The goddess stood waiting beside a pond oozing divine energy.

"Th...anks, Gaia..."

He discarded his robes, sinking weakly into the water.

"Ahhh..." He sighed in relief—until his body grew heavy, his remaining energy seeping through his pores.

"What the—?"

A sharp pain pierced his back. His pupils dilated in shock.

He turned slowly, fading crimson eyes meeting Gaia's gemlike gaze.

A gentle smile curved her lips—her hand buried in his back, clutching his heart.

"Why would you—?" Golden liquid trickled from his lips, confusion drowning the pain.

"I need this. Please understand, my Lord."

With those warm words, she ripped out his heart.

Darkness swallowed him as his life force faded—his face forever frozen in confusion.

...

In the void, his spirit floated, lifeless.

"What is a foreign god doing in my dimension?" An ethereal voice boomed—yet to him, it sounded like whispers.

"Why don't we make use of it? This could be... useful." Another voice, soft yet sadistic.

Silence. Then—judgment.

"You shall be bound. A slave to greed. A slave to greater power. A slave with countless masters."

A curse sealed his fate as he continued to slumber—his destiny unknown.
