Chapter 32 - chapter 32

August was drawing to a close.

During this time, besides studying Potions with Vison, Harry also had an extra class — Charms.

Moreover, at someone's strong insistence, Potions lessons were cut short while Charms sessions were extended.

After a month, with the help of Vison and Lupin, Harry had almost finished previewing all the Charms he needed to master in his first year.

Although his talent in Potions was only average, he picked up Charms quickly.

In fact, he was quite good at it.

Vison believed that if Harry truly applied himself to Charms, becoming a Charms Master someday wouldn't be out of reach.

However, that all depended on him studying seriously.

From what Vison knew of Harry, "studying seriously" wasn't entirely foreign to him, but it wasn't his strong suit either.

...

Now, it was the end of August.

Today was Harry's last day visiting Vison's shop.

Tomorrow, he would be heading to Hogwarts to begin his schooling.

Harry felt excited but also a little reluctant — Hogwarts was a boarding school, after all, meaning he wouldn't be able to visit Vison for lessons during the term.

His luggage was packed and ready.

But there was one problem: he knew his Aunt and Uncle would never willingly take him to King's Cross Station.

And he had no desire to ask them either.

Just imagining their mean faces made Harry's skin prickle.

Still, he wasn't too worried.

He knew Vison would definitely help him.

After finishing his daily Charms practice, Harry approached Vison nervously.

"Professor, can you take me to King's Cross tomorrow? My Aunt and Uncle definitely won't send me."

Vison had expected this.

He waved his hand casually.

"Of course. No problem at all. Actually, I was already planning to."

As he spoke, he pulled a certificate from his pocket.

Harry leaned in to see — it was a driver's license, with Vison's photo on it.

Vison smiled, a hint of nostalgia in his eyes.

He missed the days when his own parents had driven him to school — sitting anxiously in the back seat, eager to arrive at the station.

It was a rite of passage for every new student.

"I've even prepared a Muggle car," Vison said with a grin. "Relax, Harry. I'll pick you up around nine o'clock tomorrow morning."

Relieved, Harry nodded eagerly.

Even his footsteps felt lighter as he left.

Just then, Lupin emerged from the door of the plantation.

"Has Harry gone?" he asked.

Vison nodded, but then he remembered something.

"Lupin, I'm taking Harry to King's Cross tomorrow."

Lupin glanced at the calendar and realized today was already August 31st.

"Also," Vison added, "You'll be coming with us."

Lupin blinked in surprise.

"I have to go too?"

"Of course." Vison spread his hands. "Who else is going to drive the car back? Harry and I will be boarding the Hogwarts Express."

Lupin looked puzzled.

"Wait — you're not coming back with me? Vison, what about you?"

Vison chuckled.

Only now did he realize he hadn't told Lupin the news yet.

Smiling, he explained, "Starting tomorrow, I'll be teaching Care of Magical Creatures at Hogwarts."

Lupin's eyes widened.

"Wait, what? When did this happen? Why am I only hearing about this now? And what about your plantation?"

Vison spread his hands, as if it were no big deal.

"Just this summer. Professor Kettleburn retired and suggested I take over his class.

As for the plantation — don't worry, Lupin. You won't be losing your job. I'm not shutting it down; someone will still need to take care of things while I'm teaching."

Lupin slumped back onto the sofa, staring at Vison with a complicated expression.

"This is... really unexpected, Vison. It's no small thing to be a Professor at Hogwarts."

Vison shrugged lightly.

"Thanks to Professor Kettleburn, I got this opportunity. And honestly, teaching sounds like a pleasant change."

Lupin nodded slowly.

"Well then — congratulations. It's actually a good thing. You're definitely qualified, and Harry will have someone looking out for him at school."

Vison smiled and fished out a set of car keys, tossing them to Lupin.

Lupin caught them, looking confused.

Vison pointed toward the door.

"I think you'd better practice using Muggle transportation — just in case."

Lupin grinned and headed out.

To be honest, he was curious about driving a car.

...

Early the next morning, Vison and Lupin drove to Number 4 Privet Drive.

"Is this Harry's place?" Lupin leaned out the window, peering around.

Vison nodded as he stepped out.

"This family isn't the friendliest. I'll handle it."

He walked up and rang the doorbell.

Footsteps approached from inside.

The door swung open, revealing Vernon Dursley, Harry's uncle.

Harry stood behind him in the hallway, juggling his many packages.

Vernon had never met Vison before.

The last time, Vison had disguised himself as an ordinary neighbor when he'd spoken to Harry's aunt.

"Good morning, sir," Vison said politely, adjusting his hat.

"I'm a Professor from Hogwarts, here to collect Harry. I believe he mentioned this to you—"

At the word "Hogwarts," Vernon's face darkened instantly.

His lips curled, and his disgust was obvious.

"Oh, it's you people again—" he growled, glaring at Vison.

But though his anger boiled, he restrained himself.

The memory of that pig's tail someone had once cursed onto his son still haunted him.

Flushing red, Vernon barked, "Fine, take the brat away to your freak school! I don't want to see any more of you—these abnormal people!"

With that, he turned and stomped off, shouting over his shoulder, "Get out!"

Harry was unfazed — he'd expected this.

Vison merely smiled, undisturbed by Vernon's rudeness.

Or rather, he simply ignored it.

He turned to Harry, lifted his luggage with ease, and said cheerfully,

"Alright, Harry — let's go."
