Three figures could be seen walking in a forest, one was a orange haired girl looking around the forest for bug type pokemons, one was a brown hair man humming a soft tune and in the middle was a black haired boy with a pikachu on his shoulder
These three were Ash, a rookie trainer with his starter pikachu, misty and brock the ex gym leader.
Determined to become a pokemon master, ash continues on his quest gaining skill and knowledge along with catching new pokemon on the road
His fierce battle with gym leader brock earned ash a boulder badge and a brand new friend, brock hoping to be an excellent pokemon breeder decided to join ash and misty on their journey
As the trio walk through the forest, they are stopped due to a small sound
"vulpix vulpix!!"
Intrigued by them sound and thinking if a pokemon is in danger, they go towards the sound, with each step the sound of the pokemon getting louder.
Behind a tree is a vulpix!! thats a rare pokemon in these areas, it seemed to be calling for someone up above the trees
Looking up they are startled as they see a boy hanging on a tree branch high up in the air!! he seemed to be holding a red berry
the boy had red hair pushed to the back of his face, he was wearing green cargo pants and a black shirt along with a red jacket
"Hey what are you doing!! your gonna get hurt, come back down!!" brock shouted to the trainer while ash looked at the vulpix on the ground
It looked very clean and elegant, it had shiny fur and a purple tint to its eyes, it was standing on a Black bag pack looking worried for who they assumed was his trainer
The boy, startled by brock's shout yelped and slipped from the branch falling towards the ground.
Brock immediately jumped into action and caught the trainer who was rather light and placed him on the ground (damn i guess bro was a ex gym bro)
The trainer had a look of surprise on his face as he quickly got up, still holding the red berry
"Th-thankyou for saving me"
His tone was low and his head bowed in an apologetic way. brock was startled by this sudden gratitude while ash and misty were intrigued by the trainer
Brock came out of his shock and shook his head
"no need to thank me, im just glad your safe but what were you doing by being so reckless?"
The trainer sighed in relief at brocks dismissal before showing him the red berry he was still holding
"i-i was umm getting this berry for vulpix, she has grown tired of packed pokemon food"
Brock hmed before bringing his gaze up in realization
"wait a second, are you that challenger i faced a week ago.. carmen!! right?"
The boy now identified as carmen nodded as he tossed the berry to the vulpix who yipped in joy and munched at it even sharing some with the curious pikachu
"yes mister Harrison, im sorry for the late introduction"
Brock sighed at the mr part but waved it off
"are you on your way towards vermillion city?"
carmen shook his head and showed the inner part of his jacket showing two badges, the boulder badge and the Cascade Badge hanging there
Ash static about meeting another trainer did the same and showed the same badges
"hey we both have the same badges, i guess you must be on the same route as us, i wonder how many pokemon you have"
Carmen stepped back not being used to such a energetic person but was also delighted to find another pokemon trainer
"thats amazing!! how many pokemon have you caught, i-i only have my vulpix and my ni-nidoran"
Ash and misty paused, didnt he have the Cascade Badge? how the hell did he beat the gym with those two? and the battles were 3v3, did he seriously not need the 3rd pokemon even with the type advantage?!
Brock snapped his finger
" thats surprising but not with your bond with vulpix, ash he came a 2 days before you with only his vulpix and defeated me, his tactics were brilliant and he only had to use vulpix"
Ash gaped, he had lost with two pokemon even though pikachu had a disadvantage it was still a little hard to believe
Misty also snapped her finger
"Hey since your a challenger and have the boulder and the Cascade Badge, your probably going towards the next city, why dont you join us?"
Brock nodded, he had liked the kid who had a gentle and easy going nature and would not mind the company
Ash pondered then nodded encouraging carmen to join
carmen suprised by the sudden invite pondered on it
" i mean i-its not bad to have company i guess so why not?"
Ash's face brightened at the agreement calling pikachu to his shoulder
"That's great, this here is my partner Pikachu say hi!!"
Carmen stepped back as sweat poured from his forehead and his face became more nervous as his body became tense
"h-hi p-pi-pikachu" he said weakly throwing the trio off
"Um is something wrong?" Ash inquired
Carmen quickly shook his head and apologized
"No no im sorry its just um ... i get a little nervous around pokemon"
The trio nodded, it was natural to get nervous around pokemon after all they were in the end powerful an d sometimes violent beasts, though odd for a pokemon trainer to be nervous, it was nothing out of the usual book

The group along with the newly joined comrade carmen continued their journey towards the next city, in the way getting acquainted with carmen finding him as a person with a kind soul
" dont worry im positive this path will lead us to the main rout" Ash said as the one leading them through the forest
"positive huh? thats what you said a hour ago!" misty pointed out
"clearly we are lost and dont know where to go"
Ash snorted but did not refuse the claim, he had no idea where they were and was just relying on instincts
"Ok guys chill chill lets take a break"
brock broke them off getting a encouraging nod from carmen and so they set up a fireplace and a stove where carmen volunteered to cook some tomato stew
A sweet aroma filled the air as the stew was being prepared, it made pikachu drool who was eagerly waiting for his part with a bottle of ketchum in his hands
The rustling off grass nearby caught their attention as a odish emerged from it
"A odish!! im gonna catch it"
Ash jumped up with pikachu as he prepared to catch the pokemon while the group observed in interest
