The God of Killing was busy within the Slaughter City.
Ever since he descended into the Douluo World, he immediately followed the will of the Asura God and appeared before Tang Chen. He awakened Tang Chen, who had been under the control of the Blood-Red Nine-Headed Bat King and used the backup plan left by the Asura God during the divine trial to transform Tang Chen into a High Priest infused with the power of the Asura God.
After Tang Chen left, the God of Killing did not idle around. He took over Tang Chen's position as the King of Slaughter and continued collecting necessary resources in the City of Slaughter.
The blood sea beneath the City of Slaughter was refined by the God of Killing. He extracted pure blood essence from the blood sea, which had accumulated for an unknown amount of time, and infused this energy into the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Serpent.
With the enormous boost from the blood essence, the age of the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Serpent was forcibly elevated to 100,000 years. However, due to the unique nature of the City of Slaughter and the restrictions imposed by the God of Killing, the serpent's wisdom did not increase but instead regressed to an even lower level than before.
More importantly, only a small portion of the blood essence was absorbed by the Ten-Headed Fiery Sun Serpent. The majority of the energy was sealed within its core, making it impossible for the serpent to absorb despite appearances suggesting otherwise.
Clearly, this was a man-made opportunity. And the one destined to receive this opportunity was undoubtedly Tang San.
Additionally, the God of Killing was searching through the City of Slaughter for high-quality, long-aged soul bones. These soul bones were refined using the divine power left behind by the Asura God, altering their attributes to make them more suitable for carrying the power of the Asura God.
Undoubtedly, these actions violated the divine world's rules against interfering with the lower realms. However, the problem was that no one could punish the God of Killing.
First, the City of Slaughter was originally the domain of the Rakshasa God, later taken over by the Asura God. As it was a land of inheritance, it was loosely managed, and the divine world could not excessively monitor it.
Second, the law enforcement deity of the divine world was the Asura God, and the God of Killing was the Asura God's foremost general. Usually, it was the God of Killing who carried out the Asura God's orders to maintain order in the divine world.
Now that the God of Killing was violating divine rules under the Asura God's instructions, who could arrest him?
God of Killing believed that his master, the Asura God, would never punish him, as everything he was doing was in obedience to the Asura God's commands.
The Asura Demon Sword, which had originally been in Tang Chen's possession, was now enshrined in the City of Slaughter. The sword was brimming with divine power and brimming with spirituality, ready to enter battle or summon the Asura God's divine consciousness to descend into the Douluo World at any time.
However, before Tang Chen left the City of Slaughter, half of the Asura God's divine consciousness stored within the sword had been placed into Tang Chen's mind. Through this connection, the Asura God could observe Tang Chen's every move and adapt to any changes in the future.
In summary, from the Asura God's perspective, the changes surrounding Tang San, though not ideal, were not insurmountable. At most, they were problems that could be resolved in a few days.
The most pressing issue at the moment, however, lay with the successors of the Angel God and the Rakshasa God.
Tang San could afford to ascend to godhood later than the other two, but the gap must not be too large. If the successors of the Angel God and Rakshasa God inherited their divine positions and solidified their dominance, the Douluo World would become harder to control. Even if the Asura God intervened directly, it would be difficult to find a good excuse or opportunity.
This was especially true given that a few years ago, the Asura God had failed in his attempt to manipulate the Angel God's successor by amplifying her inner negativity and leaving a backup plan. As a result, the Asura God found it harder to control the Angel God's successor and could not delay their cultivation and ascension. The Asura God began to ponder ways to create a connection between Tang San and the Angel God's successor, whether through conflict or other emotions, to lay the groundwork for future plans.
As for dealing with the Angel God's successor, the Asura God did not intend to let his subordinate gods intervene directly. Instead, he planned to use Sea God Island and the inheritance of the Sea God to target the Angel God and the lineage of the Spirit Hall.
Speaking of which, a few months ago, Sea God Island had sent three Title Douluo, among the Seven Sacred Pillars, who were less reliant on the ocean environment, to the Douluo Continent. However, there has been no significant news from them so far.
This was not due to negligence. Led by Sea Dragon Douluo, the three Title Douluo, upon learning of the Spirit Hall's strength and reputation on the continent, dared not act openly. Instead, they kept a low profile, quietly gathering information while following the orders of the High Priest Bo Saixi to investigate matters related to lightning tribulations.
...
In an unremarkable small town, Sea Dragon Douluo, disguised as an ordinary soul-hunting soul master, sat in a tavern. He quietly listened to the conversations around him, occasionally sipping the bitter ale he was not accustomed to. A heavy and oppressive aura surrounded him.
If it were not for Sea Dragon Douluo's superior emotional control compared to the other Sacred Pillars, the aura he emitted might have already exposed his presence.
"Clear Sky Sect's Tang Chen reappears, defeated by High Priest Qian Daoliu. Tang Hao has been captured by the Spirit Hall. Both sides are using the upcoming... high-level tournament as a wager to decide Tang Hao's fate. The victor will have the right to decide Tang Hao's future and the allocation of his soul bones."
"Tang Chen offers a 100,000-year soul ring bounty to find young, talented soul masters. Many young soul masters are gathering at the Clear Sky Sect."
"A turbulent time, a turbulent time indeed."
Sea Dragon Douluo silently processed the mix of true and false information. A wave of frustration welled up within him.
Since arriving on the Douluo Continent, aside from the first few days, the trio had avoided revealing their identities. They feared being discovered by the Spirit Hall, which could lead to an overwhelming force of ten or more Title Douluo being sent to eliminate them.
Due to the minimal interaction between Sea God Island and the Douluo Continent, they had little access to useful information through their usual channels. They were forced to wander from town to town, gathering clues.
If not for Sea Illusion Douluo's ability to extract additional information using his Mirage Snake martial soul, their progress would have been almost nonexistent.
Over time, however, Sea Dragon Douluo gained a clearer understanding of the Douluo Continent. The arrogance he had once felt toward the continent's soul masters gradually dissipated without him realizing it.
