Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10: THE MOMENT WE MEET

The city buzzed with its usual energy—honking cars, the distant murmur of conversation, the sound of shoes tapping against the pavement. But for Aira, everything felt muted. Her heart beat in her chest like a drum, louder than any of the noise around her.

She didn't know why it felt so important, so monumental. She had met people before. She had been places, had conversations, shared moments with strangers. But this… this was something different. Something her soul had been preparing for.

She stood on the street corner, scanning the crowd, her breath shallow.

Then, she saw him.

Ravi.

He stood near the entrance of a small café, looking as uncertain as she felt, yet somehow like he belonged exactly in that spot. He wasn't what she had imagined. He wasn't a dream. He was real—more real than she ever expected.

He was tall, dressed casually but with a grace that made his presence undeniable. His eyes, the same ones she had drawn so many times, met hers across the distance, and for a moment, neither of them moved.

Aira's breath caught in her throat, and she could feel the world narrowing down to just the two of them. She had only seen his face in dreams and sketches, but now, seeing him in the flesh, it was like everything clicked into place.

Ravi took a hesitant step forward, as if unsure of what to do, what to say. His eyes were filled with a quiet understanding—like he had been waiting for this moment too, even though neither of them knew how it would unfold.

Aira took a step toward him, her legs feeling both heavy and light at the same time. The closer she got, the clearer it became that this was the moment they had both unknowingly prepared for.

When they were standing just a few feet apart, there was an overwhelming silence. Neither spoke at first. It wasn't awkward, though. It was the kind of silence that spoke volumes, filled with years of wondering, of dreaming.

Ravi's lips parted, and his voice came out low, almost unsure. "You… you're real."

Aira laughed softly, the sound almost nervous, but warm. "I think we're both real."

She took another step, then hesitated. "I'm Aira."

"Ravi," he said, his voice soft but steady.

They stood there for a moment longer, eyes locked. The connection between them was palpable, like a thread woven between their hearts, and in that moment, nothing else in the world mattered.

Aira felt her chest loosen, the tension she hadn't even known she was holding melting away. "So," she said, her voice quiet but certain, "What happens now?"

Ravi smiled, the kind of smile that reached his eyes, lighting them up with warmth. "Now… we see what comes next."

And just like that, everything that had once been a dream, a feeling, a sketch—became something real.

They didn't need to speak any further. They didn't need to rush. In that moment, they were exactly where they were meant to be.
