Chapter Forty
Crow exited the portal, his boots touching the familiar dirt roads of the starter village.
The streets were crowded —
new players shouting, trading, begging for quests.
Low-level NPCs manned simple stalls, selling beginner weapons and potions.
But Crow ignored them all.
He knew exactly where to go.
He cut through back alleys and side streets, heading toward a half-hidden stall tucked into the corner of the village's outer market.
There, standing under a worn black canopy, was a shadowy old merchant —
an NPC most players would never even notice.
And behind him, displayed in a flickering, almost invisible cage of light, was her.
Crow's eyes locked onto the figure immediately.
She was beautiful and terrifying.
The upper half of her body was that of a stunning woman — flawless pale skin, long black hair, crimson eyes that shimmered with intelligence and cruelty.
The lower half was a sleek, monstrous spider body — covered in gleaming black chitin, sharp legs lightly tapping the ground.
Chains of divine energy wrapped around her wrists and ankles, suppressing her overwhelming aura.
Above her head floated a glowing label:
[Divine Rank Unit - Elizabeth, Queen of the Abyssal Silk]
[Price: 10,000 Gold]
[Time Remaining: 00:04:59]
Five minutes left.
Crow's heart didn't even race.
He casually opened his inventory, pulling out several heavy sacks of gold — loot he had stripped from goblin camps, boss monsters, and random events without even trying.
Without hesitation,
he slammed the gold onto the merchant's table.
[Purchase Confirmed!]
[Divine Rank Unit - Elizabeth has been bound to Player Crow!]
[Elizabeth's loyalty has been forcefully maximized due to Divine Controller Class Effect!]
The cage shattered.
Elizabeth's crimson eyes snapped open.
In an instant, the towering spider-woman knelt before him, her long claws clicking softly against the stones.
"My King..."
Her voice was silky and cold, filled with hidden violence.
"I am yours. My webs, my blades, my life... all belong to you."
Crow smiled faintly.
Another Divine Rank unit under his command.
Another future calamity turned into a loyal servant.
He casually waved his hand, summoning a teleportation array through Seloria's formations — and sent Elizabeth safely into his Pocket Dimension.
The players nearby didn't even realize what had happened.
They barely even noticed the ripple of divine energy fading into nothing.
But soon,
the world would notice.
And by then,
it would already be too late.
