Chapter Nineteen: Deathless March
Inside the Abyssal Spire, the battle raged.
Mutated beasts — once proud creatures of legend — now twisted into abominations, lunged at Crow's forces with desperate savagery.
Yet the elven army moved like a machine: precise, merciless, and fearless.
And when a monster's claw found its mark — when an elf was struck down —
something strange happened.
Instead of dying... their bodies shimmered.
[Dungeon Rule Detected: Deathless Dungeon Mode Active]
[Effect: Fallen Units Are Automatically Teleported Outside Instead of Dying]
[Penalty: Minor Energy Drain Upon Exit.]
Crow watched through his connection with Seraphina, his golden eyes narrowing slightly in interest.
So that was how the dungeon balanced its difficulty.
A safety net for the world's strongest — but also a trap for the greedy.
Because here, only survival mattered.
Victory demanded sacrifice — and even temporary losses weakened momentum.
On the battlefield, two C-Rank elves were struck down by a mutated chimera's tail.
Their bodies glowed softly, dissolving into particles of light, and were immediately teleported to the dungeon's entrance —
alive but unconscious, drained of all stamina.
The rest of the army didn't flinch.
They closed ranks around the fallen spot, arrows and spells raining down with ruthless efficiency.
The mutated chimera didn't even have time to roar before it was torn to bloody pieces.
Outside the dungeon, the two teleported elves lay on the grass, breathing shallowly.
Healers assigned by Crow's order immediately moved in, tending to them with gentle magic.
Nearby, Lyravex, still clinging adorably to Crow's side, glanced at them worriedly.
Crow simply waved a hand.
"They'll recover."
He wasn't concerned about minor setbacks.
This was part of the grand machine he was building: an army that learned, adapted, and grew stronger with every battle.
Even losses were useful.
Every teleportation would reveal hidden weaknesses — and Crow would crush them out of his forces.
Perfection demanded no less.
[Battle Report Incoming...]
[Fourth Floor — Cleared.]
[Mid-Boss Defeated: Abyssal Guardian]
[Loot Acquired: SSS-Rank Dagger — "Fang of the Abyss"]
[Loot Acquired: Bloodline Fragment (Unidentified)]
Crow's eyes gleamed at the notifications.
A Bloodline Fragment.
Exactly what he needed.
Because he knew: with enough fragments, he could awaken something even the gods would fear.
Something that no player — not even the strongest reincarnators — would be able to match.
Crow closed his hand into a fist slowly.
The world would belong to him.
And it was only just beginning.
