A TOUCH IN THE DARK

"See! There's a shadow!" Anne whispered, her voice trembling.

"What?" Leo turned his head, but before he could catch a glimpse, the shadow had disappeared into the trees—too fast to recognize.

Without wasting another second, Leo started his bike. Anne quickly got on, holding onto him tightly as they sped away. The unsettling feeling in her chest refused to fade.

After a short ride, Leo dropped Anne off at her house. Without even saying goodbye, she rushed inside, her heart pounding. The eerie presence of that shadow haunted her thoughts. She locked her door and collapsed onto her bed, trying to push away the fear.

But just as she started to drift off, the room plunged into darkness. The power had gone out.

A chill ran down her spine when she heard the faint creak of a window opening. She sat up, her breath hitching. The curtain fluttered wildly, though there was no wind.

Her throat felt dry, but she forced the words out. "Who is there? Tell me who's there?"

For a moment, there was only silence. Then, a voice—low and haunting—whispered from the darkness.

"I want you."

Anne gasped and spun toward the window. A shadowy figure stood there. Before she could scream, it turned and bolted, vanishing into the night.

She ran to the window, eyes wide with terror. The shadow became smaller and smaller as it disappeared into the darkness. Without thinking, she sprinted after it, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and curiosity.

She chased the shadow as fast as she could, her gaze locked onto the figure. He had a strong, well-built frame, his movements swift and confident. Even from behind, he looked incredibly attractive. A wicked thought crossed her mind—if he looks this good from the back, how stunning would he be from the front?

Her eyes flickered to the dimly lit street around her. Passionate couples were lost in deep, intoxicating kisses, their bodies pressed together, lost in desire. A warmth stirred inside her—a feeling she hadn't embraced in a long time. A smirk tugged at her lips.

But then reality snapped back into focus. She looked ahead—only to realize the shadow was gone.

She came to a halt, frustration bubbling inside her.

Suddenly, strong arms wrapped around her waist from behind. Her breath hitched, a shiver running through her as warm lips brushed against her ear.

"What are you thinking, babe?" a deep, husky voice murmured.

Before she could react, soft lips pressed against her neck—then, just as quickly, the presence disappeared.

She spun around, her heart hammering in her chest.

No one was there.

A cold breeze swept past her, making her shiver. And then—

"Anne..."

The voice was close. Too close.

Her breath caught as she turned in every direction, but the street was empty and darkened. The night was eerily silent, standing still yet she could feel something—someone—watching her.

A chill ran through her. Someone had called her name....

But who and why?

And where was she?
