Chapter 1 - Chapter 1, Born Again: New Family

?: (Huh?)

?: (Where am I.)

?: (I was... what was I doing before this?)

?: (Taking out the trash, or was it eating something?)

?: (Oh right, I was... it doesn't matter anyway.)

?: (So, where am I, all I see is pitch blackness.)

?: (Well, I'm not seeing much of anything.)

?: (So... *Yawn* so, sl-)

??? Weeks

?: (What, was that. I felt so tired.)

?: (Am I in a coma?)

?: (What, is that white light.)

?: (It's so bright!)

?: (Get it out of my face!")

"As he struggles to escape the light, his body collides with hard surfaces. After a few seconds, the brightness fades, replaced by a soothing, inaudible hum."

█ █ █ █ █ █ █ █ █

?: (What the hell!)

?: (Why is... that so ni-)

??? Weeks

?: "█ , I can █ █ move!"

?: (Someone talking, wait. That means I'm a baby, from... what was it again 20 or it's 25?)

?: (Damn it, I can't remember... What was I talking about again?)

"He keeps questioning himself, searching his memories, but finds nothing. Eventually, sleep takes over."

??? Weeks

?: (Does, that mean I am growing, how long till I'm- ahhhhh. It's so bright!!!)

"A sudden brightness floods his vision as a sharp wind pricks his skin, sending shivers up his spine. Pain surges through him, forcing a scream loud enough to pierce the air. Moments later, warmth envelops him, and the last thing he hears is a soothing voice welcoming him to the world."

19 Hour Later?

?: (How long was I out? It felt so long.)

?: "Honey, look he awake."

?: "Hello buddy, had a good sleep?"

?: "He can't respond to you."

?: "I think he can."

?: "Then your del-" *Wahhh*

?: "See, I told you he would respond."

?: "I guess you were right."

?: "When am I not?"

As the man laughs to himself, a light tap lands on his arm. After a few more seconds of laughter, the door opens and a female doctor steps into the room, causing him to stop and both of them to turn toward her. A name tag pinned to her coat reads: Alana Jade.

Alana Jade: "Hello, Mr and Mrs. Myles. I hope you're having a great day."

Amber Myles: "Just call me Amber, and I am."

Phill Myles: "Yep, how can we not with this bundle of joy here."

Alana Myles: "That's great to hear, I am here to get the final paperwork for him. Can you please tell me his name?"

A smile spreads across Amber's face, radiating happiness. But Phill is the complete opposite—gloomy and down in the dumps—revealing who lost the battle over naming rights for their new joy.

Amber: "Glady, his name will be Jon."

The female doctor and the parents finish the paperwork while the newly born Jon remains confused, struggling to grasp the situation he's in.

Jon: (So, my new name is Jon, huh. Neat I guess but this still does not explain why or how I died.)

Jon: (Wait, I got it... So, I wonder how this new life going to turn out.)

Jon: (Were Am I anyways? Anime, fantasy, uh what else is there? Warhammer 40k, please no.)

Jon: (Hopeful it's Marvel or DC. Wait, would that be even good? I don't see a system anywhere, I'm not that lucky.)

As if the very universal was mocking him, a ding is heard followed by a green flat surface appearing before him.

Jon: (Well, shit. I do have the luck, the power, I WILL BECOME A GOD AMONG Mortals.)

Jon: (So, what do you even do?)

Jon: (Hello, anyone home?)

Even after several minutes of waiting, nothing appears on the screen except two numbers: 0 and 1. Frustrated, Jon feels his dreams of having superpowers slip away.

| 0/1 |

Jon: (What? System what does this mean?)

|Question system, 10 points per question|

Jon: (....)

Jon: (Serious, why do I need to pay, I don't even how to get points.)

Jon: (Huh, what's that?)

A blinking red dot appears in the top-right corner of the screen, practically begging to be pressed.

Jon: (Ok, uh how am I supposed to press it.)

After several minutes of focusing and failing to press the button, he's suddenly interrupted by a cold jolt shooting through him.

Jon: (What the hell, unhand me!)

Alana Jade: "It's ok honey, just stay still while I check your temperature."

He continues to struggle against the cold thermometer, forcing the doctor to hold him down. After a few seconds, she finally takes his temperature.

Phill: "He gets that feistiness why his mother."

*Smack*

Phill: "Ouch."

The smack echoes through the room as Amber shoots him the stink eye.

Amber: "He gets his weird face from you."

Phill: "Yeah, he does have a weird face."

Phill: "What? Don't give me that look."

After a few more checkups, the parents say their goodbyes, leaving Jon to join the other newborns.

2 Days later.

Alana Jade: "He should be all good to go. If their any problem call me."

Amber: "Thank you, doctor."

Alana Jade: "Just doing what I should."

Phill: *Mumble* You get payed enough *Mumble*

Phill: "Ouch, don't kick me."

Amber: "Quite you."

A small argument breaks out, causing the female doctor and everyone around them to share a light laugh.

Phill: "So."

Amber: "What?"

Phill: "Can we change his name."

Amber: "No."

A flat no is all he gets in response to his question.

Phill: "Come on, the name Atomic Jon June is so much better than Jon Alex Myles. It just sounds wrong."

Amber: "Well, I think it's great."

Jon: (You both have horrible naming sense.)

The baby stroller, accompanied by the two parents, rolls down a colorful street adorned with lights and a large inflatable snowman on the street corner, signaling that Christmas is near. A particular little store catches their attention, its building surrounded by colorful, bright lights and a neon "Open" sign glowing softly, giving off a cozy, welcoming vibe.

Amber: "That looks nice, let's see. It says "Tim's miscellaneous"."

Phill: "Then, what are we waiting on? It doesn't seem, like I'm the only one interested."

The happy giggle of a baby fills the air as he waves his arms toward the lights, wrapped tightly in blankets.

Jon: (Damn baby body, making me want lights.)

Amber: "Fine, let's go in."

They enter the door with a ding, causing a voice to sound from the back.

Tim: "Welcome to Tim's miscellaneous. How can I help you?"

Amber: "We just browse for now."

Tim: "Ok, feel free to ask me if you need anything."

Phill: "Will do."

A few minutes pass, with Phill admiring the cars and robots while Amber inspects the wooden chairs and birdhouses around the store. Jon does his best to turn his eyes from one thing to the next until a glint blinds him for a moment.

Jon: (Ow, that's bright. What is it?)

He looks toward the light, but the brightness overwhelms him, leaving him unable to see anything. Even after trying to nudge himself into a better position, nothing changes.

Amber: "What's wrong honey."

Phill: "Something happened?"

Amber: "I don't know, he just keeps moving around."

Phill: "Maybe he is not comfortable, pick him up and see if that helps."

She picks Jon up, giving him a better view of what's blinding him. In the next second, he pauses, unable to believe what he's seeing.

SCP information and superhuman

Jon: "F~u~c~k."

Jon: (Why, why does it have to be this universe. Almost any other would be better.)

Jon: (At least if it was a, um, a peaceful anime then I could survive or at least know how to.)

Jon: (But no, have to be a universe where, one sec you have a normal life then you turn into a house or some shit like that!) As he goes on a long rant in his head, the parents stare at their child with a blank look.

Phill: "Honey, did you hear that?"

Amber: "Yeah, did he just try to speak."

Phill: "I mean, he does have my genes."

Amber: "Well, hope he can go far."

Phill: "Hey, that's uncalled for."

As they argue playfully back and forth, their child is having a midlife crisis in his head. It takes him a minute or two to snap back into focus on the problem right in front of him.

Jon: (Ok, ok, just calm down. Everything is alright, nothing has happened yet.)

Jon: (One problem at a time, now... *sigh* how do I get it.)

After a few minutes of back-and-forth, Amber and Phill glance at their baby, then at the jar, repeating the cycle a few times. Finally, Phill decides to grab it, triggering a high-pitched scream from Jon. Despite several attempts to retrieve the jar with the same result, Phill stops and walks over to the owner.

Phill: "Hey, Tim. That jar for sale?"

Tim: "Yep, everything on display is for sale."

Phill: "Ok, you mind getting the jar over there. It's a little high, and I don't want to knock over other stuff."

Tim: "One sec, let me get the step ladder."

The owner goes in the back for a few seconds, coming out with a step stool, after a moment Tim goes to grab the Jar.

Jon: (Wait, if he touches it, don't it spread.)

A scene flashes through Jon's mind—Tim slowly turning into crystal, then exploding, shards flying everywhere and killing his new family, leaving only him alive by some miracle. Before he can scream, the jar is already off the shelf and in Phill's hands.

Phill: "Thanks, Tim."

Tim: "No, problem. Besides, this jar has been here forever."

Phill: "Oh, what's inside it?"

Tim: "That, I do not know. Never got it open."

After a few minutes of discussion, they walk out with a jar that costs only $10. Jon never takes his eyes off it, even as it's handed to him.

Amber: "What are you doing? Don't give our baby something that can shatter and hurt him." *Smack*

Phill: "Ouch, ok."

Phill: "Let daddy, see the jar." He goes to reach for the jar but with no success, as Jon is tightly holding on to it.

Phill: "Come on, just for a second. *groan* where did you get this grip."

Jon: (You are so not taking this.)

Even after a few tries trying to take the jar away from Jon, Phill gives up.

Amber: *sigh* "Just let him have it."

Phill: "Fine."

They stop at a few more stores, with Jon looking everywhere, but he never lets go of the jar for a moment. Under the bright lights and signs of this beautiful night, Phill and Amber walk hand in hand with their son, heading home.

30 Minutes Later

Phill pulls up to a brick house with a black roof and a single-door garage, big enough for two cars, and drives in. Turning around, he sees Jon fast asleep in his car seat.

Amber: "Ok, how do you take a baby out without waking them?"

Phill: "Why are you looking at me?"

Amber: *Sigh* "Fine, I do it." She goes to grab Jon, causing him to tighten his grip on the Jar but not wake up.

The next day, Jon wakes up to find the jar in his hand, covered by a race car blanket and nestled in a crib. It takes him a moment to remember that he was reborn as a baby, and his attention immediately shifts to the SCP.

Jon: (Ok, so how do I deal with this."

Jon: (System, what do I do with it?)

Question system, 10 points per question

Jon: (Well, you're no help. Oh right, do I have a status?)

Even after repeating several words he can barely remember, nothing happens—just the same screen floating in front of him.

| 0/1 |

Jon: (So, it did not increase even when I got the SCP. Then do I open it?)

Jon: (Wait, if I open it. Will I be turned into a crystal? Can I even open it with my strength?)

After a few attempts of trying to get his hand to the lid with no success, he stops trying.

Jon: (I just wait till I can sit up.)

6 Months Later

A baby sits in the living room, surrounded by two people who cheer him on.

Phill: "Come on, you can do it."

Amber: "There you go, you can do it, honey." After a few seconds of him trying to sit up, it is a success.

Phill/Amber: "Yaaaa, good job buddy/honey."

Jon: (That is embarrassing, but I can't deny it feels good.)

Another surprise occurs, stunning both parents—he starts to crawl, heading straight to his room.

Phill: "Is he really going to the jar instead of one of us."

A small mumble is heard right beside him, the sadness in her voice echoing through the house.

Amber: "A jar... more important than his mother."

Phill: "I go get him." He walks towards Jon's room, to see the baby trying to open the jar but to no avail, even after using all his tiny strength.

Phill: "Ok, hold up buddy. Let me get it." When the father tries to take something from his son, causing him to scoot backward.

Phill: "Just trust me."

After a few seconds of contemplating his options, Jon gives up the jar.

Phill: "Let open this jar. *Groan* Come on, open." (Don't look weak in front of your son)

Even with the motivation of his son watching, the father tries but fails to open the jar. Frustrated, he heads to the shed in the backyard to grab some tools, but even they can't get it open.

Phill: *huff* *huff* "Damn Jar." *Smack*

Amber: "Watch your words."

Phill: "Sorry, darling."

Phill: "Here son, the jar is not opening anytime soon."

After a few moments of discussion, Amber brings Jon to the living room while Phill heads to the store, searching for something to open the jar for Jon. The light noise from the TV fills the room, but it goes in one ear and out the other, causing no reaction from him.

Jon: (So tools don't work. Adult strength can't open it, then their only one option left.)

A small drop of blood slowly falls onto the jar lid as the baby's face contorts in pain. His expression shifts to surprise at the sharpness of his nails, which cut through his skin with ease, even though they break off so easily. With a small *pop*, the lid comes off, revealing a dangerous white crystal—ready to kill or transform anything it touches in a matter of seconds, changing it into the very thing it's made of.

Jon: (What do I do next?)

| 0/1 | | SCP, detected. Absorb? |

Jon: (Yes?)

| 1/1 | | Proceeding to Upgrade |

After what feels like a decade, nothing happens. Jon stares in disbelief at how the system can be so useless, giving him nothing even after he potentially risked his life to open the jar. Frustrated, he flails around in anger, accidentally knocking the jar over.

Jon: (Shit! No, no, no pick it up.)

It's a close call, but he manages to pick the jar back up successfully.

Jon: (What was that, I know I get angry but never that much.)

Phill: "I'm home, oh. He got it open..." A sad look can be seen on his face as the defeat of a baby gets the best of him, only for second thought as the thought of that very baby being his son.

Phill: "I knew you could do it."

Amber: "Mhm."

Phill: "What? I did."

Amber: "Well, since he got it open, let's see whats in it."

They both lean in to look at it, but suddenly a lid covers the top, obscuring their view. After several attempts to remove it from Jon and open it with no luck, they're left frustrated.

Phill: "Dang it, why is it not coming off."

Jon: (That's good, it seems like no one can open it but me.)

Phill: "Fine, have your dumb Jar."

Stomping away in a mix of happiness and defeat, he heads to put the tool back in the shed. The rest of the day passes quietly, with nothing eventful happening, as Jon lays in his crib, staring at the jar.

Jon: (So, I know it's the SCP universes but this Jar can't be open without me is werid. Lets see.)

It is open again, but this time a letter falls off the bottom of the lid, causing it to land on his face.

Jon: (Rude. Is the Jar alive? Nah.)

When he opens the letter, it reads.-----

To the adventure that has found this jar, I hope this letter finds you well and alive. If not then I hope your soul has a peaceful afterlife.

This crystal has plagued me, slowly eating away at me as I fight against it. But to my horror, it grows faster with each passing day. Even if it means destroying myself to rid myself of this crystal, I will...

I have tried and tried, and tried again. I can't take it anymore someone help me PLEASE... HE- ME!

The treasures are left at the bottom of the hill, in the dream world, even though it is a dream it affects reality.

Jon: *Gasp* *Gasp* (What, was that? It felt like he was speaking in my head but at the same time I was reading it.)

After a few minutes of catching his breath, Jon looks at the letter—only to find it's gone, as if it was never there to begin with. A puzzled expression crosses his face, but then one word echoes through his mind: gone.

Jon: "Magic!"

Hello, again dear readers. Anyways I decide to rework it and make the chapter longer, from 2.5k to 5k words a chapter, and that includes the name, I'll try to not have as many and make a work around for it, but im only human after all. So, im going to do this story and another one which your can vote on.

It will range from storys that I have paused because I could not think of were to go with them or were to lazy to different consepts I thought of to make storys about. Anyways, have a good day/night. Oh, also tell me if I need to fix anything from grammar to other type or plot holes always eager to hear the positive criticism.
