Going All Out
The moment I activated the skill, the bones of my fingers grew longer, sharper, and stronger.
They looked like the claws of a beast.
Once the transformation was over, I began to attack the rat on his back.
As expected, however, I could not do enough damage to weaken it.
Meanwhile, the rat was wiggling around trying to get me off his back.
While the rat was struggling, I found a really big open wound and decided to attack that spot.
The moment I struck the wound with my claws, the rat screamed in agony and tried harder to get me off his back.
Eventually he succeeded; I jumped off his back, falling face-first to the ground.
Pretending that nothing happened, I checked the rat status, and I was really happy to see
His status effect [Bleeding: Lv4] worsened to Lv6.
I distanced myself from the rat and asked the mechanical voice for help as the fight was going to be harder from now on.
'[Global Wisdom] How can I create a distraction?' I asked the mechanical voice, but instead two descriptions appeared.
...
[Life Drain: Lv1]
Description:
A characteristic skill only the undead are supposed to have.
Effects:
It allows you to steal your opponent's HP.
and adding it to your HP and weakening them.
The higher the skill level is, the faster it will absorb the HP of the target.
...
[Lesser Curse: Lv1]
Description:
You are able to give status abnormalities such as slowness, paralysis, and blindness.
The higher the skill level is, the more things you can do.
Effects:
Debuff the opponent or remove the debuff.
...
[I highly recommend the host to first activate [Lesser Curse] and then the [Life Drain] skill as well.]
'Why?'
[With the [Lesser Curse] you can blind the rat, and with [Life Drain] put it in a state of confusion.]
'I see, then...'
After hearing this news, without a second thought, I extended my hands toward the rat and
activated the [Lesser Curse] skill, blinding the rat. I was sure it worked because the rat was looking to the opposite direction I was in.
Without even waiting for a second, I activated the [Life Drain] skill as well and started absorbing his HP.
'He will not stay in this condition forever, so let me search for a place to hide and focus on the [Mind Magic].'
After I hid myself behind a big rock, I closed my eyes and focused on what to do.
I started feeling weird, like my mind was being overused and expanded, but at the same time it was not uncomfortable or stressful; more like I was in a state of hyperactivity.
I felt like I could do anything.
After some seconds, suddenly the strange feeling stopped.
'Did it work!?'
I could not ponder too much over the skill activation that the rat had recovered from the status effect that I gave him and found where I was hiding.
He charged toward me at full speed, but I managed to jump away in time.
Instead, he destroyed the rock behind me, reducing it to smithereens.
'Whether it works or not, I don't care; now is the time to kill you!'
I activated the skill thinking to crush the rat on the ground, and out of nowhere a strong pressure crushed the rat to the ground much harder than I expected; I mean, one of his eyes popped out of his head from the pressure.
The rat cried out desperately as it tried to resist the pressure.
'I'll not allow you to do that!'
I shouted as I focused on what remained of the stone he had destroyed not long ago.
The stone debris started to lift up and float in midair. I extended both my arms.
towards the rat, and the debris from small pebbles looked like bullets from how fast they were flying towards the rat; however, the rat was not ready to die.
He started spitting the annoying [Poison Bullet], but this time I didn't bother to dodge the attacks.
[You have been poisoned. the status effect [Poisoned: Lv2] is now [Poisoned: Lv8]
[You have learned the [Poison Resistance: Lv1] Resistance Skills.]
[Your [Poison Resistance: Lv1] Resistance skills have become [Poison Resistance: Lv3].
[Due to the [Poison Resistance: Lv3] skill, the status effect [Poisoned: Lv8] has become [Poisoned: Lv5].
I ignored the notifications from the system and focused more on the fight.
The pebbles that were flying toward the rat melted instantly after coming in contact with the poison.
So I decided to attack the rat from two different directions: from above and from the front.
The rat was unable to react because of fatigue. Thanks to this, I was able to reduce it to a piece of meat full of holes.
I've reduced it to something that's better not to be described; people can not watch it without censorship.
Right now I'm just so happy to not have organs.
'I did it! What do you think of this [Global Wisdom]?'
Proud of what I did, I asked for the opinion of the mechanical voice.
[Warning. The host has only 14 HP remaining.]
[Due to the status effect [Poisoned: Lv7], the host has 1 minute left before dying.]
'Wait, what? I just defeated the rat, and now I am equally about to die!?'
I exclaimed in panic.
'I don't have any skill that will allow me to survive this.
What do I do now? I don't want to die again because of poison.'
[You have 40 seconds before dying.]
[If the host doesn't want to die, I advise activating the [Unique Skill: Sin Of Gluttony] on the rat.]
'What does this skill do? Whatever it is, it is not important.'
And just like this, I activate the skill on the rat.
The last thing I remember is a black mist coming out of my hand.
In the end, I passed out from exhaustion.
