Chapter 3 - Three

Mate..?" I asked, repeating what he said.

His eyebrows furrowed as he stared at me with confusion. I didn't even notice the sheet that was in my hand was already crumpled, concerning that my hand was in a tight fist for trying my hardest not to jump at him any given moment. I didn't want to shock anyone by my actions and gave such impression on the very first day of school.

"You don't know?" He questioned, his strong deep voice made me want to purr with delight. He took a deep breath as I shook my head vigorously.

Would I ask if I knew?

"That's odd," he muttered.

I held my head high as I returned his stares. I could stand here all day and stare at those bright whirlpool of eyes that made me drown.

"I don't really know what you're talking about," I pointed out, "besides, I'm just new here."

"I know," he admitted.

I slowly nodded my head as I glanced around. A number of students were already looking at the two of us, circling us as if we were a good movie to watch. Amusement was dancing in their eyes while the other students just shrugged their shoulders. Some of the girls were glaring at me which I wasn't used to. I meant, it was just my first day and I already had someone not liking me. Not good at all. Most of all, I didn't have anyone to turn to and vent out my anger and frustration.

I bit my lower lip and heard someone groan. A low, husky and deep groan that made my stomach twisted into a knot. I looked up and saw his stare that was boring right through me with full of lust and desires which were clearly evident on the bluest eyes I've ever laid eyes on.

I smiled apologetically, "I'm sorry for bumping into you, but I have to get going or I'll be late for my class. So, bye and sorry again."

He didn't respond which I was a little thankful for. I walked past him without bothering to turn around and see if he ever was staring at me. I felt it though.

How I know? I didn't.

I walked into the class with an uneasy feeling once again. The students stopped laughing as their eyes bored on me, following every step and move I took. There were several empty chairs left, I gritted my teeth and walked near a girl.

"Excuse me," I started.

She cocked her head to the side and gave me a faint smile. Her hair was the color of brunette that was pulled back into a tight ponytail, her eyes were brown, and she had a dimple on her left cheek. She was smiling at me for no reason but that smile lessened the frustration I was feeling. She looked like a nice person.

"Yes?" She asked in her melodic voice.

I smiled back, "Do you mind if I ask you something?"

She shook her head, "Nope, fire away."

My smile grew wider, "Are there any students that's going to come in?"

"Yes," she responded.

"Oh," I frowned, "Do you know where I can sit? Because I don't want to be rude and sit on someone's chair."

"You're nice," she muttered. "There, as far as I remember, no one sits there," she pointed at the seat that was near the window.

"Thank you."

"Anytime," she mumbled and stretched out her right hand, "by the way, I'm Marissa. Marissa Harper."

"Alexa," I replied and shook her hand, "Alexandria Scott."

She nodded her head with a small smile, "Nice name."

"You too," I blurted out.

"This is Michael," she pointed at the guy besides her, "my twin..."

I nodded my head at him who was staring right back at me with a small smile. He had messy brunette hair just like Marissa, hazel eyes and a mole under his left eye. They were both twins and everyone could see that even at first sight.

He leaned in and whispered something to Marissa. She nodded her head and glanced at me.

"Do you want to come with us at lunch?"

"Sure," I replied and felt a glow of happiness surging through my veins.

Being in this new school and meeting new friends, wasn't so bad at all. At least on the first day, I met new people that I could join with. I didn't like to be treated as an outcast on the very first day of school, so why should I turn down the offer?

I heard the door opened and laughter from the students that were coming in. Marissa looked up and lost the smile that was on her face a while ago while looking at the ones who barged in. I turned around and sit on the empty chair, feeling so uneasy at the moment. I heard footsteps coming near me, probably someone who was going to sit in the chair besides me near the back.

"Hi," a deep earthly voice greeted.

I knew that voice. That voice was the one who gave me tingles a while ago. I anxiously looked up and was met by a pair of blue eyes staring right back at me. He smiled, showing a perfect set of white teeth that made my heart pump faster.

"I forgot to ask your name. I'm Spade Lights, you are?" He muttered while stretching out his huge rough hand that could elope my hand in any second.

"Alexandria Scott," I responded as though I was hypnotized by his blue eyes that I didn't even notice that my name just slipped out of my tongue as I took his outstretched hand.

"Alexandria," he breathed as he gave my hand a small squeeze which shots electricity through my whole body.

The way he said my name was so deep, low and husky; seductive. It rolled out of his tongue as if it really belongs there. A small blush crept up my cheeks as his smile grew wider.

I have a feeling that I would like my stay in this school.
