Adlof and Nouraldine returned to the shelter, bringing all the necessary supplies.
Adlof gathered the team and declared firmly:
"Time to get to work."
Everyone jumped into action. They immediately began raising the new walls built by Sam and reinforced them with underground defenses for emergencies.
After expansion, the shelter now spanned around 20 square kilometers.
However, a major issue remained:
No houses... only barren land and the old company building standing alone.
Plans were made to build housing in the future, but the immediate next step was clear: Bring in new residents.
Sam had restored an old military transport vehicle they had "borrowed" from the warehouse.
Sam, Adlof, and Sinan set out to find survivors, while Nouraldine and Kim stayed behind to guard the shelter.
Their journey took them beyond the forest to a small abandoned village, where they found an old, crumbling shelter filled with starving, terrified people.
Adlof immediately realized the opportunity.
There, they met a young woman named Nilufer D'Artois, a doctor struggling to treat the sick.
She was the missing piece Adlof needed.
Without hesitation, Adlof decided to bring all the survivors back to their base.
When they arrived, it became clear: there was nowhere near enough housing.
Without a hint of mercy, Adlof announced:
"If you want to stay, you must work to build your own home."
Sam proposed a plan: a series of apartment buildings, four stories each.
The 15 new residents (5 children, 6 women, and 4 men) threw themselves into the work,
building tirelessly for two days straight (except for the children and Adlof).
Thanks to Sam's powerful machines, the construction moved at an impressive pace.
They finished the first building and slept in it, pushing forward for a month and a half until a small village had begun to take shape.
Adlof knew what had to come next:
They needed to form a protection squad, especially with another massive dog attack looming on the horizon.
