The room seemed to hold its breath, the students exchanging nervous glances. Crinix and Takahishi looked at each other, their eyes wide with shock. They had heard that name before, Zeigan. It was Shina who had mentioned it to them when they first entered the Shadow Realm.
Hiruki's gaze swept across the room, his expression serious. "After the Grim era, that's how we Grim hunters came to existence. The Divine beings decided to form an alliance with the humans in order to fight these Grims, giving us their power to fight them."
As Hiruki spoke, he started pacing up and down the room, his movements slow and deliberate. His eyes fixed on the students.
"Given the power of gods to slay Grims, our duty was to slay every Grim that existes in this word. A war broke between the Grims and the Grim Hunters"
The room was abuzz with excitement as Hiruki's words hung in the air. "Huh, a war between Grims and Grim Hunters? What kind of war was that? Did it really ever happen?" someone asked from the front row.
Hiruki's gaze swept across the room, his eyes locking onto the student. "Yes, there was a war, but this war was different," he said, his voice low and mysterious.
The room seemed to lean in, the students' faces rapt with attention. Hiruki paused, his eyes glinting with a hint of intensity. "This war was called the Grim War."
The words seemed to echo through the room, the students repeating them in hushed whispers. "The Grim War."
Hiruki's eyes closed, his chest rising and falling with a deep breath. When he opened them again, his gaze was serious, his voice dripping with an air of foreboding. "Just as I said before, this was a war between humans and Grims. This war was started by the Grims after they tried to invaded the Shadow Realm one hundred years ago, and leading the Grims was the Grim Lord Zeigan."
The room seemed to grow darker, the shadows deepening, as if the very presence of the Grims was seeping into the air. Hiruki's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing. "Many Grim Hunters lost their lives on that day, but however, hope was not lost. The Grand Reaper fought and defeated the Grim Lord. After defeating the Grim Lord, the Grand Reaper performed the Divine Seal and sealed Zeigan and his thirteen Grims in the Nether Realm. "
The room erupted into a chorus of gasps and whispers, the students exchanging awestruck glances. "Wow, the Grand Reaper is awesome! I wanna be like him one day!" someone exclaimed.
Hiruki's face broke into a warm smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to stop here for today," he said, his voice tinged with regret.
As if on cue, the siren rang, signaling the end of the class. Hiruki stood up, his movements fluid and effortless. He gathered his books and headed for the door, disappearing behind it.
The students slowly filed out of the room, their faces still buzzing with excitement. Niski stood up, his eyes locking onto Crinix and Takahishi. "I better get going. See you tomorrow, guys," he said, his voice low and casual.
Crinix and Takahishi nodded, their faces somber. But just as they were about to leave, Niski stopped and turned around. "Hey, you guys wanna hang out?" he yelled, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Crinix and Takahishi exchanged a hesitant glance, before Crinix nodded. "Yeah, that would be great."
Niski grinned, his face lighting up with enthusiasm. "Well, what are you waiting for? Let's get out of here!"
Takahishi and Crinix slowly followed Niski, their eyes fixed on his back. Takahishi craned his neck, his voice barely above a whisper. "Hey Crinix, you got any idea where he's leading us to?"
Crinix's eyes remained fixed on the road ahead, his voice low and cautious. "How am I supposed to know that?"
Takahishi leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "What if he's taking us somewhere to kill us?"
Crinix's eyes flickered to Takahishi's face, but he didn't say anything. The silence between them was oppressive, the only sound the soft rustling of leaves and the distant chirping of birds.
As they walked, the buildings around them seemed to grow taller and more ominous, casting long shadows that stretched and twisted in the fading light. Takahishi's eyes darted nervously around, his heart pounding in his chest.
Finally, Niski stopped in front of a massive mansion, its walls towering above them like a monolith. "Hey Niski, whose house is this?" Takahishi asked, his eyes wide with wonder.
Niski turned around, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "This is where I stay," he whispered, his eyes glinting with a hint of mischief.
Takahishi's eyes widened in awe, his voice barely above a whisper. "Man, this house is a castle. You really live here?"
Niski shrugged, his eyes fixed on the mansion. "Yeah, I live here."
As they stood there, the mansion seemed to loom over them, its walls exuding an aura of foreboding and menace. Takahishi's heart pounded in his chest, his mind racing with doubts and fears.
Niski turned around, his eyes locking onto Crinix and Takahishi. "You guys wanna come inside?" he asked, his voice low and inviting.
