Perhaps if Sunny hadn't just gotten beaten up, he could have appreciated the voice that had just bought him some time. But he was in no condition to do such a thing. He glanced at the voice but his vision was blurry, so all he could make out was the general figure of a girl wearing a lot of white, even her hair was white?
"I won't let you run amok like that. Stop at once."
Everyone in the alley was frozen by her presence
"It's not too late. Return what you stole from me."
"Eh? Lady, we ain't steal nothing from you…if you're not here for this guy—"
Sunny—the ever treacherous survivor he is—took this perfect opportunity to kick Tom in the balls from behind. He then dashed past the now crumpled man. Of course, Sunny just got beaten up so he immediately tripped and fell like a sack of potatoes only a few feet away.
Unseen by Sunny, the girl had shocked expression on her face. She did not expect this sudden development. And his next words surprised her more.
Propping himself up on his elbow, he turned to the girl and attempted to cut a deal with her.
"Hey lady! Beat him up and I'll help you find the thief!… Blonde hair little girl right?"
The girl was hesitant to say the least. She had no reason to trust this boy, but she couldn't help but pity his situation. She reassessed the situation and saw one unconscious person at the end of the alley, a second man wielding two knives and a very angry expression, and the now crumpled man holding his groin. She didn't know what had happened, but she came to realize these men were not her thieves. They might know something though.
"Tell me what you know about the thief."
Sunny would rather not talk casually in the middle of a fight, so his response was rather curt.
"Help me first! Then I'll tell you."
The girl was clearly not satisfied with that answer as she let out a "Hmph!" and turned her head. Sunny was fed up at this point. He's had a rather unpleasant day, and now he has to convince a random woman to save him lest he be killed by the idiots.
"Fine! A blonde hair girl about five feet tall just ran through here in a hurry. It's only been a few minutes but she's fast, you've already lost her!"
Sunny knew better than to give all the information he had at once. If he did that, what's stopping her from simply leaving to chase after the thief? In truth, she may or may not be able to catch up to the thief, as she had left about one minute ago.
So —he lied. It was more beneficial for him to exaggerate a little. Unfortunately for Sunny, he did not expect what happened next.
"Lia! That boy lies! If we leave now, we might be able to catch the thief."
From the nape of her neck, a small flying cat revealed itself. It floated just above the girls shoulders, and glared at Sunny with cold eyes. Just as quick as it appeared, the look was replaced by familial affection as he looked at the girl. She appeared to be considering leaving.
Realizing that he had just been caught by a talking, flying, miniature cat, Sunny inwardly cursed at himself. Then he called out one last time.
"Wait! Please!"
Sunny did not like to ask for help. Especially not from some random woman. But, Sunny had to say something, and this was his last resort. Well, actually, his last resort would be to kill the two stooges before they killed him. But doing so would be rather troublesome, as would the consequences.
Surprisingly, his call for help seemed to be the correct decision. The girl nodded, raised her arm and pointed at Tom and Dick, and with it came three spheres made of white ice—each about the size of a baseball—not that Sunny knew what a baseball was.
"A spirit user!
"Correct, leave now and I won't give chase."
The two stooges did not need to be told twice, they knew their current chances were slim against a spirit user. Maybe if it were 3v1 instead of 2v2, they could beat her, but all they could do now was grab their unconscious friend and leave. But they swore to murderize that brat next time they see him.
'Is her Aspect ice-related?'
