Chapter 3 - Chapter 02

'I've lived through this life, so I'm not going to be surprised by anything.'

He took out a cigarette, lit it, and inhaled. He was in a car with his secretary and several bodyguards, but he didn't care about their presence.

'I've been through a lot in my life.'

He thought about the game he had played, and the more he thought about it, the more excited he became. He had lived like a gaming addict because he wanted to experience the pleasure and dopamine that he couldn't get in real life. He had even become the owner of the game and had no financial worries.

'I've played the game to the end, so I have some knowledge.'

He was aware that Go Mu-yeol was a complete idiot, but he decided to ignore it.

'Let's see... Goryeo Entertainment? If it's an entertainment company, I should be looking for actors or producing idols, right?'

He wasn't really interested in this field, so he wasn't sure what to do. He thought about it for a while and came up with some ideas. He could bring in pretty and sexy aspiring idols or celebrities and take advantage of them, or he could bring in successful celebrities and do the same.

He couldn't help but think of all sorts of vulgar things.

"But I don't have to do that. I can just change it to an investment company, and no one will say anything."

He didn't know everything about the game, but since he had played it to the end, he knew all the major events and important information. He was confident that he could increase the capital to over 1 trillion won within a year by converting it to an investment company and investing aggressively. If that didn't work, he could commercialize the RK-99, which had turned the world upside down in the game, and make a lot of money.

The problem was that he didn't know what he wanted to do in this world. He needed to think about it.

"Should I just play for a while?"

Around the Kumsusan Sun Palace, there was the largest skyscraper district in the North. There were countless giant buildings that easily exceeded hundreds of meters, and numerous AVs (Aero Vehicles) were moving around. The Korea Hotel was also located there.

The car stopped, and men in black suits quickly came to open the door.

"Welcome, sir."

As he stepped out of the car, employees surrounded him and bowed deeply until he passed through the glass door. He felt excited by the unfamiliar treatment, but tried to suppress it. It would be strange for a prince to be so easily impressed by such things.

"Secretary Han."

"Yes, sir."

"Do you know anything about Goryeo Entertainment?"

While walking to the room, he received a brief briefing. Secretary Han didn't seem to know much.

"It's a company established last July. It has only one actor, Han Seong-gi"

"What? A male actor? Get rid of him."

"What?"

"Get rid of him."

"Oh, yes, I understand."

He had no intention of managing a male actor or training one.

Only female actors.

Only female idols.

This was 'common sense' and 'justice.'

Ding.

When the elevator reached the top floor, the door opened, and a secretary came forward and swiped a card.

Beep.

As the door to the Royal Suite opened, Secretary Han suddenly came forward and bowed deeply.

"I'm sorry, sir. There's been a personnel change, and it seems I won't be able to serve you anymore."

"What? What do you mean?"

"It's a command from the headquarters."

"..."

It seemed that the chairman was very disappointed in Go Mu-yeol and wanted to get rid of him. If they were taking back even the secretaries...

"Then what about me?"

"I'll prepare a new team of secretaries by tomorrow morning."

At least they weren't getting rid of him completely.

"Okay, I understand. Take care of it."

"Yes."

It seemed they were taking the competent secretaries to the headquarters and sending the new or problematic ones to him.

He felt a bit disappointed.

When Secretary Han and the secretaries left, he was finally alone. He threw himself onto the large bed, and only then did he feel like time was passing normally.

Before that, I couldn't quite grasp the reality of the situation. It was like I understood it in my head, but didn't truly feel it.

'Thinking about how I transmigrated... it probably doesn't matter now, right?'

There's no point in thinking about the abilities I've lost. Nothing will change.

With that thought, I picked up my phone and called Secretary Han, who had just left.

He answered on the first ring.

-Yes, sir. Do you have something to say?

"About Goryeo Entertainment's funds, can I use them as I please?"

-...If we strictly apply the law, it could be considered embezzlement or misappropriation. But in the Republic of Korea, you won't be subject to any legal issues.

"I thought so. Please prepare it for me."

-Yes, I'll link it immediately.

"And about the secretaries, don't let Secretary Han choose them. Just send me the candidates for the representative position, and I'll choose."

-You want to choose directly?

"Yes. How can I know if they're good or not without seeing them myself?"

-Yes, I understand.

After ending the call, I walked towards the window. Being on the top floor of the Korea Hotel, which was over 100 stories high, the night view of Pyongyang was truly breathtaking.

It was a mesmerizing and dazzling sight, as if it would flourish forever.

"Fucking hell, this is all mine."

At the moment, I only had a talent agency with no celebrities and about 10 billion won, but I felt like I already owned Pyongyang, the Republic of Korea, and the world.

I even felt affectionate towards the game developers whom I had cursed with hatred.

"Ah, since it's a game, there should be a status window or something, right?"

Then I remembered something that I had forgotten because the game was so realistic.

The UI, the status window, that made the game feel like a game. In the game 'Devil's gate 2077', there were also status windows and items.

"Oh... Oh my..."

As expected, there was a status window.

But...

"How has this guy been living so far?"

His stats were truly pitiful. Even for an average person, their specialized stats should be around 70-80 to be considered barely usable, but Go Mu-yeol only had a leadership stat of 69, and the rest were at the bottom.

Even that leadership stat was probably due to the chaebol buff.

"Wow... By the time the story starts next year, most of the characters will have main stats above 90, but this guy is worse than a middle school student."

That's not all.

The various debuffs listed in the traits, like a string of sausages, also gave me a headache. Weak willpower, smoking addiction, drug addiction, sex addiction? Why? He even had an alcohol addiction. Why did they leave that out?

"Let's think about it from tomorrow."

As soon as I saw the status window, I felt overwhelmed and threw myself onto the bed.

.

.

.

The next day, I woke up with bleary eyes and a pounding headache. It was hard to keep my mind straight, and it seemed like withdrawal symptoms.

Smoking addiction, drug addiction, sex addiction.

It was truly maddening. Especially the drugs...

'Damn it, I'm definitely getting rid of this, no matter what.'

As I made this vow, I searched for the drugs. Despite the withdrawal symptoms, I couldn't help but look for them.

I silently cursed Go Mu-yeol about ten times in my head and tried to recall where he might have kept the drugs. He wouldn't have kept them far away. Maybe in his clothes or wallet?

"Ugh... Ugh..."

Even walking to the wardrobe felt like a long journey. I stumbled with each step and almost fell to the floor several times.

When I finally reached the wardrobe, I stuck to it like an octopus and fumbled with my trembling hands to take out the clothes.

Fortunately, there were drugs in the outer pocket of his clothes.

"Haa... Haa... This idiot... Really,"

I remembered how to fill the syringe with the drug and roughly inject it into my veins.

The large needle pierced my skin, but I didn't care about the pain.

I only cared about the immense pleasure that was about to come.

"Kkhoooop?!"

The momentary euphoria overwhelmed me.

I felt like a god, looking down upon the world.

With the wisdom of enlightenment and understanding of the universe and all things, my thoughts reached the essence of the truth.

'This is why... drugs...'

I melted away.

.

.

.

After the effects of the drug wore off, my body finally calmed down. The excruciating headache also subsided.

"Haa... Haa..."

It was the first time I had experienced such euphoria.

I instinctively knew that if I did this again, I would fall into ruin.

I must never do it again. I need to fix my drug addiction, even if it means tearing my brain apart.

'I need to live a long and happy life. If I live like a drug addict and die early, how much of a loss would that be?'

Fortunately, the effects of the drug lasted for a day. I need to find a way today.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

I checked the intercom and saw Han Secretary and some people who seemed to be secretary candidates.

-It's Secretary Han. I've brought the candidates.

"Come in."

I quickly put on my outerwear and combed my hair.

I realized that my whole body was drenched in sweat. Was it due to withdrawal symptoms? Or was it because of the drug?

Either way, it wasn't a good look.

But it didn't matter since I didn't need to impress the secretaries.

I drank some water and sank into the softness of the sofa. Secretary Han and the secretary candidates entered. Four of them were men, and the remaining one was the woman I had seen yesterday.

I hadn't noticed before, but when I saw her face from the front, she was quite beautiful.

'They all seem inexperienced... Are they just going to be assigned to me without much thought?'

It could be because Secretary Han was ignoring me, but it was also possible that it was the headquarters' decision. After all, it was the headquarters' order that disbanded my secretary team and transferred Secretary Han.

"Introduce yourselves. You first."

"Ah, yes, sir. I am-"

The man I pointed to started introducing himself, but he didn't seem very enthusiastic.

I listened half-heartedly and opened the information of the only woman. I figured a young woman would be better than a man.
