All you can do is walk to stay awake and stay warm. You trudge up and down Main Street, checking the time and calculating how to stay warm. You manage to jump from coffee shop to juice bar to Greek diner before ending up at a pizza parlor that stays open until 1 AM. But they want you to order, and when it's obvious that you're broke, they throw you out into the freezing dark.
Then you walk. And walk. Everything is shut down, streets dark except the big digital clock in the middle of town that you see five or six times. Your guts churn like you're poisoned, but it's just the hunger. And thirst. You try to ignore it.
As Gaia is my witness I will never spend another night like this again.
Despite everything, I miss Clay's pack. Werewolves don't treat each other like this.
I keep focused on why I'm here: to find and destroy the source of the Banes.
