Chapter 6 - Myriad Hoop of Hours [Epilogue]

Ayaka Aikawa's POV

"My head... My head..."

I woke up in an unfamiliar room with a headache as usual. The interior of the room was metal, but the bed was soft and comfortable; so comfortable that I didn't even wanna get up anymore.

The door opened, revealing my sister Mayuri, my ally Haru, and my best friend Ophelia.

"You're awake!" Mayuri rushed to hug me, "I thought you were never gonna wake up, the old man said you exerted yourself too much and that it wouldn't be a surprise if you had a one year comatose! Geez..."

"Ah-hahaha," I chuckled, "How long was I out for?"

"An entire week!" Mayuri exclaimed.

I signed at Mayuri's statement, well I did overexert myself too much so I guess that's normal.

"Haru told me everything..." Her mouth curved downwards, and her eyes showed a hint of guilt.

I hugged Mayuri,

"What's important is that you didn't turn into an insane lunatic reversing time eternally, hahaha." I joked.

"It's not funny..." She said, her tone was serious.

"Listen, it's fine Mayuri. I'm just glad you're safe..." I tightened my embrace.

"I'm sorry..." She said, her voice full of guilt.

"It's fine, it's fine." I caressed her head.

"She couldn't sleep you know?" Ophelia said, "She was worried about you, Haru here called me over just to comfort her."

"Yeah, well, she threatened to reverse the time if I didn't comply so..." Haru said. His voice trailing off at the last part.

"Thank you for taking care of Mayuri while I was asleep, I really appreciate it." I bowed my head to them.

"You're welcome." Ophelia said.

"Don't mind it." Haru replied.

"Come to think of it, what happened right after I blacked out?" I asked Haru.

"Well I carried the both of you here, to my grandfather's home, so he can heal and examine the both of you, and we found out a lot of things." Haru explained.

"And stop!" The door to the room suddenly opened with a bang, an old man stood there with sunglasses. "I will do the explaining!" The old man said.

"But first let me introduce myself," He said. "I'm Ike Hayashi, grandfather of Haru. It's a pleasure to meet you, girl that my grandson has his eyes on!"

Haru smacked his grandfather's head, an annoyed look visible on Haru's face. I averted my gaze in embarrassment at Mr. Ike's last statement.

Still, for an old man, he sure was lively.

"Ouch. Anyways," Mr. Ike said, "When I examined Mayuri, I found out that her body contained a dense amount of Willnergy."

"Willnergy? What's that?" I said.

"Oh right, ordinarily it would be called Willpower, but I prefer to call it Willnergy haha." He chuckled, "Her having a really dense amount was what allowed her to awaken power that was so grand, it allowed her to manipulate time itself, and it was what allowed her to use it over two hundred times without killing herself! It's amazing!"

"Uh-huh..." I nodded, trying to take this all in. Mayuri could've died yet he just said it so nonchalantly.

"But that's not the most interesting part." He said, "The most interesting part is you, Ayaka."

"Huh? Me?" I tilted my head, how could I be more interesting than someone who could reverse time itself?

"You're not an Idealist." He bluntly stated.

"Eh!?" I reacted, I'm not an Idealist!? B-but... Cool superpowers... I won't be able to have them anymore? My shoulders slumped down. "My bankai... No..."

"Ah-hahaha cheer up," He laughed. "Even though you're not an Idealist, your Willnergy is a lot more denser than Mayuri's."

"Meaning?" I asked.

"You have good-- no, superb fighting potential." He said, "I can teach you to utilize that dense Willnergy of yours if you want me to."

I think for a second.

Haru told me that there could be other Idealists out there that wants to take Mayuri's power for their own selfish gains. If I want to protect Mayuri, and protect other people from getting harmed then...

"I'll be in your care." I bowed my head.

"Mhm. Great!" He exclaimed, "One last thing. I'm sure you'll love to hear this."

"What is it?" I asked.

"I previously mentioned you're not an Idealist, but that's because you're something else. Something I've never seen before." He explained.

"Uh-huh?" I nodded.

"Idealists are dreamers, they wish to create a world ideal for them but you... You're different. You don't dream at all, in fact, at the face of a world changing power like Mayuri's time reversing ability, you remained rooted to the absolute and constant reality. Do you get where I'm getting at?"

"I... don't." I was confused at what the old man was trying to say.

"Simply put, you're the exact opposite of Idealists. You're the first of your kind! You're a realist!"

"..." I hid my face in embarrassment, that was so cheesy...

"Anways, I made some pills that would negate your headache everytime you wake up. Take it every night before sleeping." He hands me a small container of those pills.

My face brightened up, "Woah! Thank you so much Mr.Ike! Now I can finally wake up in the morning without a stupid headache!"

"You're welcome." He replied, "You go get some rest for now. You exerted yourself too much on those time reversals."

"Thank you." I bowed my head, Mr. Ike nodded then left the room.

"Good for you, huh Ayaka?" Ophelia said.

"Mhm, I'm really glad about these pills!" I said.

"I'm so glad you're fine..." Mayuri said, still clinging to me. Her embrace becoming more tighter.

"Hey," I said. "Loosen up a bit please... I'm not going anywhere." I said to Mayuri.

"Oh by the way," Ophelia said, "I won the election but you..."

"I lost huh?" I asked, "That's only natural, I was out for a week."

"Haha, yeah..." Ophelia's shoulders drooped.

"Don't worry Ophelia, I can always support you from the sidelines. If your incompetent ass ever needs help, feel free to come to me." I said.

"Heh," Ophelia's shoulders lightened up, "It's quite reassuring to hear you say that. Thanks Ayaka."

"Mhm." I smiled at her.

"Well then I'll be going back to school now, you keep recovering okay?" She said.

"Mhm, roger that." I said then waved goodbye to Ophelia.

After she left the room, there were only me, Haru, and Mayuri left.

"So... Got your eyes on me huh?" I teased. A mischievous grin crept on my face.

"You actually believed that stupid old man?" He said, "Don't be stupid. I'll be going now so you best get your much needed rest."

He said then left the room. Guess he can't be honest with his feelings huh.

I took a deep breath then stared blankly at the wall. What's going to happen now? How will this incident change my life? I have no idea. But I swear that no matter what challenge faces us, I'll overcome them to keep me and Mayuri safe.
