I was procrastinating, as usual. Sitting in my room, staring at a blank
wall, thinking about everything and nothing at the same time. The
sound of my own thoughts was so deafening that I couldn't even
remember what I was supposed to be doing. It was like that moment
when you're halfway through a YouTube video, but you're just
scrolling through the comments instead.
Then, out of nowhere, everything went black.
I didn't even have time to process what was happening before I was
yanked away. There was no flash of light, no warning—just an
overwhelming sense of being pulled in a thousand directions at
once. My stomach lurched, and the next thing I knew, I was standing
in a vast, empty space. The air smelled weird, like a mix of ozone
and suspension.
I looked around, confused, and then—a voice. A voice that practically
dripped boredom.
"Welcome, chosen one, to the realm of… well, I don't really care. It's
the God realm. Or whatever," the voice said.
I blinked, trying to get my bearings. A figure appeared in front of me
—a man, looking like he had zero interest in anything, not even in
my confusion.
"Who are you?" I managed to say, more confused than anything
else.
"Call me Glitch Daddy," the man said. "I'm the one who pulled your
sorry ass here."
"Glitch Daddy? You serious?" I scoffed, already regretting being in
this situation.
"Yeah, it's whatever. Anyway, you're here now, so just deal with it,"
Glitch Daddy said. With a lazy flick of his wrist, a rag-like item
appeared in his hand. "Here, this is for you."
Before I could ask any more questions, he tossed the Cloak of 'Nah,
I'm Good' at me. It looked like something straight out of a half-assed
fantasy RPG, but I was too stunned to argue. I caught it instinctively.
I opened my mouth to ask what the hell I was supposed to do with
this, but Glitch Daddy had already lost interest. He waved his hand
lazily, and suddenly, I felt my body get yanked up again. Before I
could even process what was happening, I was soaring through the
sky. And not just any sky—the sky. It looked like something out of a
Ghibli movie, clouds swirling and glowing with hues I didn't even
know existed.
I started plummeting.
My stomach dropped, my brain screaming for me to do something.
But I couldn't. The Cloak fluttered behind me like it was laughing at
my misery. Was it supposed to save me or something? Not even a
second later, I hit the ground. But—no damage. Nothing. I just lay
there, feeling like I had been hit with a truck made of zero fcks*.
And then, just as my body started to give up on me, everything went
black again.
