Chapter 2 - Dreaming of an Angel of Death

Shinji would slide out of his bed, he held his head confused about what happened. "Wh..what happened?" He asked Rose confused but only confusion could be seen in Rose's face, his eyes hidden by his curls "Shinji what do you mean? You just woke up silly!! You were going to take me to Shoto! Hehe" he explained but it only sounded like deja vu to Shinji "o..of course...and what about destiny?" Shinji asked before Rose tilted his head "Destiny? Who is that?" He asked confused more "is that what you were dreaming about?!" He asked giggling cutely as his tail swayed in a excited manner "did you meet someone while I was away?!" He exclaimed shocked as Shinji looked at the picture of Rose and himself on his dresser Destiny wasn't there, was there a Destiny to begin with, or was it all in Shinjis head "that's right didn't you go on vacation with your mother?" Shinji asked Rose and he smiled brightly "There you are shinji!! I thought I'd have to smack you out of it teehee!!" Rose laughed and Shinji chuckled patting Rose's head before getting up and getting dressed. Rose lived with Shinji and Shinji's brother Drake since his father abandoned him and his mother was sick she couldn't take care of Rose anymore so she asked the both of them to take care of him. Now Rose is eighteen and joined the Angel Corps with Shinji who is now twenty four and lives in his parents house who died in a demon attack, there's only been two demon attacks since he's been born, one killed his parents, the other attack killed his big brother. Rose smiled and ran out to get dressed in his skinny jeans and black band top which had "The Hanging Angels" on the shirt a famous band that the two loved, "I heard the band is playing in Shoto today Shinji! Is that the surprise you had for me?!" Rose asked excitedly as Shinji huffed "oh now my surprise is ruined." He shook his head in grief, he suddenly revealed two tickets to the show, and Rose squealed in joy "I don't deserve you!!" He shouted and hugged Shinji tightly "oh big brother!! How much I love you" He continued showering Shinji with compliments and Shinji laughed softly "oh hey now Angel Corps got us a week off...since there has been no demon attacks recently, and we rarely get to go out so I'm going to take you to shoto city for your birthday coming soon" Rose's ears flatten as Shinji explained and Shinji frowned "did you forget your own birthday...again?" He crossed his arms chuckling causing Rose to blush "oh hush Shinji it's not my fault" he pouted adorably looking away "I've been so busy with work I forget sometimes..." Rose explained and Shinji sighed "true but with this week off we don't have to worry about Angel Corps for now" Shinji comforted Rose patting his head again "now let's get going!" The two would be ready and walked out the door, Shinji locked it and walked towards the car he expected someone to be inside "You shouldnt leave your door unlocked!!" Rose crossed his arms already in the passenger seat scolding Shinji "Random demons have been seen hiding in people's cars and houses lately." Rose explained as he put on his seat belt, Shinji huffed "now now demons haven't been seen for years..not after the last attack..." He said softly remembering the last time he saw his brother, Rose's cat ears went down sadly "I..I didn't mean to bring up old wounds" Rose exclaimed upset and Shinji smiled "no no don't worry it's not your fault" he would pat Rose's head and drove away to Shoto city. The large city was full of people today of course it was because The Hanging Angels were playing in the city, there were many ads of them, the electronic 3D billboards were showing them playing of course the two got front row seats, Shinji found a parking spot and parked turning off the car before the two of them got out of it, Rose's tail swayed excitingly as they walked to the stadium the band was playing in, Shinji would sigh trying to get the dream he had out of his head. Rose would pull on Shinjis arm as they walked "C'mon C'mon!!" Rose said smiling brightly, looking at Rose's face it felt like time slowed down, seeing his cute smile, his best friend being so happy meant everything to Shinji. Until he saw the dream in his head play out seeing how Rose was murdered in cold blood so fast..it had to be a dream, Shinji shook his head a little and Rose tilted his head getting close to Shinji "are you okay?...are you still thinking about that dream?" He asked Shinji worriedly and Shinji played it off "oh it's fine just." Shinji smiled it off and pointed to the their spots "there they are!!" Shinji smiled distracting Rose from himself and Rose gasped and ran to the spot as many others were walking in as well it was quickly getting crowded. The two quickly got to the front "Oh my god!! You guys are here too!!" A females voice was heard as Shinji and Rose turned to see Phoebe "oh Phoebe it's been a while!" Rose shouted hugging her, Phoebe had long shaggy jet black hair, her eyes were jade green, and her body was shaped like a model you'd see in magazines. Shinji would smile brightly "its been a bit Phoebe! How have you been and who's this with you?" Shinji asked looking at the strange quiet man he has never seen before he had white dreads his eye was brown his other eye was covered by his bangs, as well as his skin it was like a beautiful caramel. He sighed and put his hand to his head "oh come on shinji don't be such a dick..." he had a deep voice with a soft touch. The man huffed and Rose flicked Shinji's nose "he's our leader you idiot..." he giggled adorably but Shinji still looked utterly confused and Rose raised an eyebrow "James..James Lightbane..." Rose sighed and James looked at Rose "Did Shinji hit his head or something?..." James asked Rose and Rose shrugged "he's been acting strange since he woke up..." Rose would look at Shinji "is everything okay?..." Rose asked as James looked at Shinji something on James mind, Phoebe would smile before her phone goes off "What?!..." She looked down at her phone before pouting "that's work...I have to go" she looked at James "I'm sorry James but it seems I have to miss our date.." she walked away waving "see you soon!!" She smiled bright before disappearing into the crowd and James huffed "what a mess...well it looks like I'm with you two now.." he crossed his arms as Rose smiled "Yay!! The three of us together! The whole team!" Shinji chuckled as he nodded "true true" he said as the band got ready, and they started playing their songs. After the band was done the three of them would go get something to eat, Shinji smiled as he gave Rose a new band shirt for him. Rose squealed in excitement before he jumped on Shinji happily snuggling into him, Shinji laughed patting Rose's head softly "now now let's go to Shoto Noodles!! I heard they have good ramen!" Shinji said as he walked with Rose on his back, James would stop as he felt something was watching the three, he turned to where he felt eyes on him but saw nobody, Rose smiled shouting "Come on James you're gonna miss out on the tasty ramen!" Rose giggled, Rose eats alot he loved ramen especially the Shoto Noodles ramen, it was Rose adored restaurant. James would catch up to the two on guard "hmph.." he huffed while he walked "I thing we're being watched" he quietly said to the two and Rose looked around "weird...why do you think someone would want to follow us?" Rose asked James curiously and James answered "We do work for a famous military corporation..." He said sarcastically "who wouldn't want the private information I know..." James added looking at Rose, Rose pouted "I know that!! But you think someone would really follow us in the day..." he sighed softly and they continued to Shoto Noodles. The place was clean with alot of people inside eating their favorite ramen, Rose would walk to a table with Shinji and James right behind him once Rose and James sat down Shinji felt something was wrong, time suddenly stopped and a cloaked man was standing right behind Shinji it was the same one from his dream "its you?!" He shouted after he turned facing the cloaked man, he seemed smaller than Shinji the cloaked man looked up at Shinji with a sadistic grin "oh my you're telling me you know who I am?..." he giggled creepily "kekeke what a surprise..." Shinji would look into the man's black eyes they had red pupils "a demon?!.." Shinji gasped surprised "not just a demon...you're a demon lord Controller of demons" he said as the cloaked man put a finger to his black lips "the end is nigh...little Shinji~" he said vanishing his words echoed in Shinjis mind. Shinjis eyes were wide and afraid as Rose touched Shinjis shoulder "Shinji what's wrong?" Time was back to normal and Shinji turned to Rose with a forced smile "oh..nothing..it's just..I can't talk about it..." Rose frowned "is it about your brother again?..?" He sighed "do you want to go home? We can take our food to go" Rose suggested and Shinji sighed "I think that will be best for all of us..." he looked at James who was still on his guard, the three ordered their food to go and walked out of the restaurant, James waved and walked away as the two walked towards Shinjis car and getting in, on the way home Rose was asleep and Shinji would smile softly before the cloaked man's voice echoed in Shinji's head. "What did he mean, something bad is going to happen" he thought to himself quietly "I'll have to talk to General Blane about this" he softly spoke to himself while almost to the house, he would park in the driveway get out and pick Rose up gently and took him into the house. He sighed and put Rose into his bed and walked out before taking a remote out and pushing a button the house lights dimming and the giant TV would turn on he would call the general on the TV, the TV changed screens showing the general as he was at his desk, he was an older man he looked about in his forties, he had blonde short hair and dark blue eyes like lapis "hmm Shinji you know Rose is only allowed to call me without warning since he's a higher rank than you" Shinji huffed "yeah yeah but this is important I promise you..." Shinji said in a serious tone "is anyone else around you sir?" Shinji asked as General Blane would cross his arms "no but make this quick.." Shinji would take a breath as he then explained the situation at the Shoto Noodle restaurant. General Blane had a serious look "you know the seriousness of a demon lord don't you Shinji..." Blane asked Shinji as he would then look at Blane in the eyes "The man was short but he had Black eyes with red pupils..only demon lords have eyes like that..." Blane would think "but time stopping abilites....I'm not saying it's impossible buts it's barely heard of.." Blane explained "I've only heard of it from an old demon lord..if it's the same we will have to talk about this to the higher ups" Blane said as he sighed "we'll talk about this when you get back from your vacation...does Rose know about this?" Blane asked curiously and Shinji shook his head "James was on guard...he felt someone was following us...it could be the same person..." Shinji explained and Blane put a hand to his face "I see...we can talk about this later...enjoy your vacation you guys will be busy when you get back" he chuckled and Shinji turned off the TV and sat down "it will be hard to enjoy this..." he sighed before looking out the window.
