Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Awakening

"Damn, Miya awakened a magic world with a 7,918-mile diameter."

"Yeah, she got a personal offer from True God Academy! They say if your world's over 7,000 miles, they fight over you."

"She's definitely gonna reach the Elder God tier in a decade..."

Michael James stood silently among the sea of murmuring students, the sound of awe and excitement echoing through the massive auditorium. The Awakening Ceremony was underway, and it was a dazzling, terrifying, life-defining moment for everyone turning 18. In this world, a person's entire future was determined by one touch — one moment of contact with the Awakening Stone. You either become a god... or remain a mortal.

Michael had just finished fully digesting the memories of this world's Michael James — they had fused with his own memories from Earth. Reincarnation. Another life. A second chance. Whatever you called it, this was his new reality.

He now understood this world's terrifying hierarchy: at the age of 18, students go through the Awakening Ceremony. If they awaken a world — a real, living world — they become gods. These gods grow in power by developing their worlds, which start off as small planets and grow into realms, dimensions, even full-fledged universes. The size and quality of a god's initial world determined their potential — the higher the potential, the faster they rose through the divine ranks.

Newborn God. Veteran God. Elder God. God King. God Emperor. And the legendary, nearly mythic stage: Primordial God.

The students before Michael had been ascending in a wave of excitement. Fire-based worlds, shadow realms, arcane kingdoms — each one more impressive than the last. And the sizes…

6,002 miles.

7,418 miles.

8,000 miles.

Every time a number was announced, cheers or gasps followed. When someone awakened nothing… silence. Pity.

It was finally Michael's turn.

The government staff nodded toward him. A woman in her late twenties with a kind face and a clipboard smiled and spoke softly, "Don't be nervous. Just walk up, touch the stone, and let the resonance happen. Your soul will guide the world into existence."

Michael nodded. His heart beat like a war drum in his chest.

He stepped onto the stage.

The Awakening Stone pulsed faintly, like a giant piece of quartz infused with starlight. It stood on a marble pedestal, taller than he was, humming with divine energy. Michael took a deep breath and placed his hand against it.

Everything went white.

Then—

Boom.

A ripple of divine essence shot through him. Images flashed in his mind — oceans swirling, land masses forming, a lonely sky above a barren sphere. The process lasted mere seconds, but he could feel it. His soul had created something. Something real.

The world settled, spinning gently in the void.

The voice of the announcer cut through the silence.

"Michael James… has awakened a world with a diameter of 1,476 miles."

The room went quiet.

"Potential: Class B. Small-scale world. Room for growth."

The audience gave polite, scattered applause. A few students exchanged glances. Miya — his childhood friend — gave him a soft smile from the crowd. She had already awakened her massive 7,918-mile magic world, and her divine aura shimmered faintly around her, her hair also turned silver blonde, her eyes slightly longer like an anime Elf girl.

Michael descended the stage.

"At least you didn't stay mortal," Miya whispered.

"Yeah," Michael replied, forcing a smile. "At least."

But deep inside… disappointment festered. His world was the size of Pluto. And compared to the planetary juggernauts around him? He was small. Weak. B-Class potential meant he could never reach God Emperor or Primordial status. Not with normal growth.

That night, he lay in his room, the quiet buzz of city lights outside his window. His mind was still racing. He reached into his divine sense — the connection every god had to their created world — and peered into the dark, tiny sphere now tied to his soul.

It was a barren rock. Gray, cold, floating silently in the void. No magic. No life. No atmosphere.

Useless.

And then—

[World Simulation System Activated.]

His heart skipped a beat.

Text appeared in his vision, golden and glowing.

Michael sat up in bed, his breath caught in his throat.

"It's real. It's finally here. My cheat… my golden finger…"

Simulation #1 – Begin

Parameters:

Initial World State: Barren, lifeless

Interference: None

Energy Level: Low

[Year 0] – Your planet begins to stabilize. Volcanic activity stirs the crust, forming basic terrain. Lava cools into stone.

[Year 35] – Water vapor condenses. Oceans begin to form in the deep canyons. The atmosphere is thin but stabilizing.

[Year 108] – Microscopic life emerges in the oceans. Carbon-based. Evolution begins.

[Year 304] – Cambrian explosion analog. Complex multicellular life bursts into existence.

[Year 623] – The first land-based flora appears. Fungal forests bloom under the dim sun.

[Year 880] – Amphibious life crawls onto land. Predatory instincts evolve.

[Year 1,210] – Reptilian and avian species dominate. Food chains stabilize. Ecosystems thrive.

[Year 1,562] – A massive asteroid threatens extinction. You choose to intervene subtly, nudging its course away.

[Year 1,843] – The reptilian creatures evolve to become dragons with magical powers and mana

[Year 2,021] – Dragons dominate the planet with them being on top of the food chain with other animals and creatures below

[Year 2,144] – Dark Dragon King rage war against dragons his own kind and other creatures

[Year 2,201] – The war ended with death of dark dragon king and the rest of dragon, with your planet also on verge of destruction due being too weak and not being able to withstand the impact and mana overload

[Year 2,389] – Your planet self destructed after persisting for so long

'Understandable, my world is too weak and can't stand such an impact right now, maybe after a few simulations….' Micheal thought quietly.

Micheal exits the simulation and looks at his real world, it now has microscopic life and due to the trait 'evolution' they are evolving at a fast rate.

Michael was grinning now, wide-eyed. The once-dead world was now alive. Not just alive, but growing.
