"We're finally here!"
"Yeah! This is getting thrilling. Haha!"
Excitement filled the air—confidence, fear, hope, and raw energy crackling like static. It was the day everything changed. The day their journey as awakened beings truly began.
But standing amidst the cheers and laughter of the class, Jiang Yu felt nothing.
No thrill.
No heartbeat racing with anticipation.
Only stillness.
His mind was quiet, unnaturally so.
In this second life, Jiang Yu had only one wish—one fragile dream:To become strong. To find a peaceful family. To live a quiet life.
But reality was merciless.
And this world? It didn't care about dreams.
Here, only strength was honoured.
And the weak?
They were meant to be stepped on—robbed, beaten, and forgotten.
Just like him.
His father now lay in a hospital bed, barely hanging on.
His mother worked long nights in shady places—not by choice, but because her looks gave her just enough value to survive.
All of it… all of this misery began the day a random gate opened in their town.
Without warning.
Without mercy.
In a flash, 90% of the population was wiped out.
And somehow, the three of them survived.
If that could even be called luck.
Though! Now that he had made up his mind to become awakened.
Jiang Yu had put all of his past 4 years into it, like a madman, training his sword to acquire sword skill based on skill at his awakening, which is common knowledge: how, after awakening, one can get acquired skill if they had trained in that thing for a long time in the past.
These skills, which are acquired by hard work before getting awakened, are called [Acquired Skills], something that is acquired by human effort.
"Lin Tian."
"Yes!"
"Awakened: Spellcaster, Water attribute."
"Duan Man."
"Yes!"
"Awakened: Shieldman. Non Attribute."
In this world, awakened are awakened as 2 different lines. Spell type or magus line awakened, though for them being awakened with an attribute is very necessary.
On the second line came weapon class, and they can be awakened both as non-attribute or attribute, as they are needed to fight on the front line with a weapon in arm.
They are two major fields.
Then come with those acting behind the scenes.
Non-attribute, Non Combat class.
They are also great. But they can't become strong on a personal level.
Though Jiang Yu believes that is only idiotic, given even non-combat types have their own way of fighting, and he, who has read many novels, has a versatile mind, so he really doesn't mind getting any class, given he has confidence that he will get strong either way.
"Jiang Yu."
"Yes!" He shouted and walked.
Standing in the field, he looked at the mini orb that had complicated runes etched on it. While touching it, his body felt warmth, while both the teacher looked at him silently.
Until a small burst of light appeared on the globe, and it shone with a class name appearing above it.
"Awakened: Ancient Archive, Non-Attribute. Unregistered Class."
"Huh!" Jiang Yu silently cursed. As he looked at the weird class, he had not read about all this time after coming to this world.
"Haha! Is he going to throw a book to fight or something?"
"No! He might need to throw ancient books to fight."
Jiang Yu was thinking when one of the classmates started to mock him.
And with a single glance he could tell it was Wei Yan and his team who were at the centre of this commotion, after all; he had reigned at the top of the class for all this time.
"It's alright! It is just a new class. You might be able to walk on your own path with this." Teacher smiled; after all, they all had seen many who were awakened with weird class but ended up at the centre of their world later.
"I know! Though, I don't think my class is that weak." Jiang Yu said with a smile, making the teacher smile as he asked him to go back to class, where all awakened were heading. With a single badge that denotes him being awakened.
'System.' He spoke under his breath.
"System!"
Name: Jiang Yu
Class: Ancient Archive [Abyssal Rank]
Ideal Training Bot: 1
Physique: 1.8
Mana: 3
Strength: 1.7
Agility: 1.3
Spirit: 1.1
Training Skill: 0
Class Skill:
Mind Eye [Level 0 (0/10)].
Aeon Archive [Max] [Entry Pass: 5].
Observation [Level 0 (0/10)].
Acquired Skill:
Basic Body Strengthening [Level 1 (20/100)].
Basic Swordsmanship [Level 1 (5/100)].
"System."
'Yes! I do have it.' Jiang Yu felt thrilled, given that at that awakening he did see this blue screen flashing before his eyes.
And with him being a reincarnator, it did not take much time for him to realise that he might have a cheat.
'Hmm! I can assign a skill to Ideal training bot, and then it can continue to train it stop and collect it's mastery for me.' With a wave, all the detail of the system appeared in his mind as he continued his slow walk toward the class.
But to the teacher, it looked like Jiang Yu was having a lot of pressure to walk that slowly. Though, there was nothing he could do about an unknown class.
'Well, I can at least give him a nice non-attribute skill for being top of his class. That way, he will have a little chance to fight in the next high school selection exam.' The teacher wondered, not knowing that Jiang Yu was grinning from ear to ear due to his new cheat.
After all, that cheat of his was completely broken.
First, the reason why awakened class skills are important is because they are easier to master, and those acquired skills are hard to train in without the support of the class.
Second, training is hard; it puts a lot of pressure on physique and Mana consumption, so how much one can train depends upon how one can increase their physique and, especially, mana level.
But his training bot has no limit to physique and mana since it is not a living entity. Plus, it did not feel tired and is very creative like him.
So, as long as he just sits, the other thing will continue to train 24 hours a day every day. And in reality, one can train in mana-based skills only at best for around 2 to 5 minutes daily.
After all, it takes around 9 to 10 hours of rest for one to get their mana back. Though once one reaches a higher level and increases spirit and mana, the regeneration of mana increases gradually, and it is said that at a certain level one can get full mana back in 5 minutes.
But even for them, training 24 hours a day is a long stretch and they can only train in one skill at a time.
So, according to the system, for every level he will get 1 free bot to train. That clearly means that he can train hundreds of skills at a time when he reaches level 100.
Too OP!
Too overpowered.
That is what Jiang Yu believes.
And he finally chose Basic Swordsmanship to train for now.
Jiang Yu took his seat quietly, his fingers brushing the edge of his desk as if nothing had changed.
But deep inside, everything had.
He could already feel it—his muscles warming, slightly tightening. The training bot had started. It was as if a shadow of himself somewhere in another layer of reality was endlessly swinging a sword.
'It's subtle… but it's working.'
And this was just the beginning.
The class continued their awakening ceremony, and one by one, each student stepped up to the orb. Some cried tears of joy. Others were silent, lost in disbelief or despair. A few were smug, revelling in powerful attribute classes.
Wei Yan awakened as expected:
"Awakened: Elemental Spear—Fire Attribute."
The class broke into whispers of awe and envy.
Wei Yan cast a glance at Jiang Yu, a smirk tugging at his lips.
"Hope your books are fireproof."
Jiang Yu didn't reply.
He just smiled.
Calm. Silent.
Unbothered.
Then Jiang Yu closed his eyes.
His first class-based skill, named [Mind Eye], was activated. Making his surroundings turn silent as all of his senses shut down, he realised how he was able to see everything within a 10-meter radius.
It was like certain white eyes from the anime. Which was able to give its user 360-degree vision; his mind's eye was able to do the same. Not only that, as long as he tried, he was able to concentrate on anything beyond the wall or terrain without any touch and use observation skills to have a whole detail of it.
Just like his class said. He was able to see all the detail, like when it was made, how much time has passed since its creation, and even the expiry date of it. Not to say, it was at level 0 and being able to tell all this, so what will happen if he were to level it up? What else will he be able to see in the future?
When Jiang Yu sensed.
"I am also done with awakening." A quiet voice echoes beside him.
"Which class?" Jiang Yu smiled and asked, looking at the brown-haired girl with a slim figure and quiet eyes staring at Jiang Yu.
"Elemental Magus." The girl muttered. "Let's go, I had asked teacher and we can leave." She continued, sitting beside Jiang Yu.
"Are you sure? I am not a combat-orientated class." Jiang Yu smiled. Thinking how this girl was adamant about letting him join with her to form a team to challenge the high school exam, since many students do so in their first entry to the dungeon.
"Hmm! I am sure you will be fine with any class." She spoke in a quite confident tone.
"Good! Then let's do it." Having heard that. Jiang Yu had no reason to reject this girl. After all, having her is quite reassuring, plus having a beauty beside him can be a rather ideal situation for him, who had read how MCs tend to impress girls with their skills.
"Good!"
