When Jade repeatedly rejects him, he comes up with a plan to get what he wants: to sleep with her and prove she was just another one, nothing special.
"How much do you want?" he asked, visibly angry.
"Excuse me?" Jade couldn't believe he was asking how much money she wanted to sleep with him. She knew he was a jerk, but this was a new low.
"Don't play the saint with me, that act doesn't suit you. You're nothing but a wh..." he didn't get to finish, because her hand landed hard across his cheek.
"You're not going to insult me. You have no right..."
He grabbed her wrists roughly.
"Speak! How much do you want? Five hundred thousand? A million? Name your price, I'll pay anything" his eyes were burning with pure rage "money's not an issue for me"
She went silent. The doctor's words echoed in her mind. She swallowed her pride, along with the hatred she felt in that moment for the man standing in front of her, and accepted.
"One million dollars. That's what I want. Happy now? You'll get what you've been so desperately craving" She wiped away a tear.
"I knew your true colors would come out eventually" He looked her up and down.
She turned around, fully aware that she had just sold her dignity... But also knowing it was for a greater good.
In that moment, the end justified the means.
