CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
đź“… June 10th, 2005
The Contract Signing Was Supposed to Be Civil.
Two black steel chairs.
One long black table in the center of the ring.
Two pens. Two signatures.
A handshake. Maybe a staredown.
That was the plan.
But when Malik "The Tribal Chief" Smith Jr. sat across from Brick Bronson, the air felt like a lit fuse.
General Manager Tony Vance stood between them with a BWF clipboard in hand.
🎤 GM Tony: "Gentlemen. At Heatwave, it'll be Malik Smith Jr. vs. Brick Bronson for the BWF World Championship. Sign here, make it official."
Bronson leaned forward first, smirking, and scribbled his name across the line.
🎤 Bronson: "Enjoy your fifteen minutes. The belt comes home next week."
He flicked the pen at Malik.
Malik caught it—without blinking.
Slowly, he signed.
Then leaned back in his chair.
🎤 Malik: "You still talk like a champ… but I don't see the gold anywhere."
Bronson lunged.
Chair flies. Table flips. Pens scatter.
BRAWL BEGINS.
Bronson throws a haymaker—Malik ducks.
Spears him into the table!
Trainers rush in—but they're too slow.
Malik snatches Bronson—deadlift style—and hoists him up!
BOOM!
POWERBOMB THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!
The wood EXPLODES beneath Bronson's body.
The crowd loses it.
"HOLY SHT! HOLY SHT!"
Malik stands above the wreckage. Calm. Cold.
He holds the BWF title high—not just champion by belt, but by destruction.
Backstage – GM's Office Moments Later
Malik storms in, sweat still dripping from his face. Trainers try to stop him. Vance stands up from his desk.
🎤 GM Tony: "Whoa, kid, that's enough—"
🎤 Malik: "No. That's not enough."
He throws the championship on the table.
🎤 Malik: "Heatwave isn't gonna be some cute pinfall contest. No count outs. No rope breaks. No rules."
🎤 "I want a NO DQ MATCH."
A pause.
The GM blinks. Slowly, a crooked grin spreads across his face.
🎤 GM Tony: "...You sure you wanna go that far?"
Malik steps closer.
🎤 Malik: "I don't want to beat Bronson."
"I want to finish him."
BREAKING BWF NEWS – LIVE TICKER:
MAIN EVENT UPDATE: Heatwave's BWF World Championship Match is now OFFICIALLY a No Disqualification Match!
Fans lose their minds on forums.
Backstage wrestlers whisper.
Bronson? Still recovering in medical.
Malik walks down the hallway, belt over his shoulder, nodding to every cameraman and wrestler staring at him.
This wasn't just about holding the title anymore.
This was war.
And Heatwave?
That was the battlefield.
