Chapter 1 - EPD 1: CHP 1 : DEMON PORTAL

Tokyo - Japan.

The streets of Tokyo were illuminated by the neon lights. The night was still busy. Though some parts of the city was dull due to the recent attack in Tokyo by demons. About seven demon portals had been opened in Tokyo in the past one month. Thanks to the Hunters, the demons were slayed early enough to avoid the annihilation of the Japanese capital. Despite the early take down, Tokyo recorded about 300 deaths.

The story of demons and Hunters all began about the 7th century on Earth. The mystery about how these beings came into existence is unknown, but researchers presumed that the demons once co-related as one. The demons and elves lived in peace for about three hundred years before a war broke out between them. The elves were the originators of the Hunters. The Elves lost power to the demons at the command of the Supreme Demon Lord.

With the few elves left, they began to co relate with humans and married humans and their offspring began to possess magic. This discovery enticed the elves and they married as many humans as they could.

Little did they know that excessive sexual acts with humans would result to their vulnerability. They all died, leaving a new race amongst humans - hunters.

The Hunters with their magic and technology managed to create a barrier between Earth and the demon world. They created a parallel world - and with the strongest magic, they sealed the portal. The hunters had peace for a while before a portal was opened around Russia. A swarm of demons raided relentlessly, slaying about 8000 persons.

The Hunters managed to seal up the opening without querying how the portal broke. Not too long after that more portals broke apart and death tolls rose beyond limit. The Hunters struggled with the demons.

With the demons extremely powerful, the Hunters had to exert a greater force in taking down the demons. But the demons were too strong as they absorbed energies from earth to become stronger than the would have been.

Their war lasted for 3 years before the Hunters sealed up the portals and discovered the cause for the outbreak.

The demonic were overfull and the energies within their space gave rise to the depletion of the portal gates. Since their magic was not a first hand class, they decided to create routes into the demon world called Dungeons. These Dungeons were only visible when the demons in the vicinity was at the peak. With this mechanism, they could easily handle an impending outbreak.

In the present, the citizens were going about their activities. Some were asleep to wake up early in the morning to begin their own activity. The air in the atmosphere was warm but the citizens didn't notice this. They were drowned in their own activities to notice the change in the humidity.

'BOOOOM!!!!' A loud deafening sound echoed across the city.

Everyone screamed in shock. One could only phantom the cause. The citizens looked at each other in fear. They were afraid of their imaginations. What was their imagination? – They feared the greatest terror to mankind. They feared that a demon portal must have been open.

From rear a shimmer of red light glowed and its brightness glowed brighter than the neon lights of the city. A red circular and wavy portal curled in the open air above the citizens. A demon portal was opened. They stared in awe and confusion and felt rooted to the spot.

Their greatest fear had come to pass –A demon portal opening up again in Tokyo. The wave of the portal seemed to draw the earth towards it. Cars were levitated up by an unseen great force. Everything within the reach of its magnetism began to levitate above thr ground. The humans then realized that doom was approaching.

In an instant, everyone began to run for their lives. People began to stumble on themselves to get away from the danger. It was a wrestle for the fittest. They slow runners were left behind to let the stronger and faster ones to go forward.

The portal continued to suck up every object before it. The circular circumference of the portal began to expand slow and when it had reached its elastic limit, the force of magnetization stopped. Those who were far behind paused to look. Their inquisitive eyes wondering what had happened.

In the next second, a creature leaped out of the portal to land on a man. It's fang deep into the flesh of the man, the man screamed in pain. Everyone screamed in horror and began to run. The creature plung its claws into the man's heart and ripped off his heart. Instantly, the man closed his eyes in death.

The creature with four legs and a face of a wild cat but huge body howled loudly and that very moment more of its kind leaped out of the portal. They began chasing after the helpless humans who were running in fear of death.

The creatures being faster than normal caught up with the few slow runners and began to eat them alive. The demons began to savour the blood of humans causing their body to feel more energetic than before. The humans felt more energetic due to the apprehension and a will to survive. They ran on not feeling the weakness or fatigue in their body. All wanted be alive and they were determined to get that done.

The demons continued to flood in. Each being fast enough and taking down humans quite easier than normal. The population of Tokyo was decreasing evidently and if nothing was done on time, the inhabitants of Tokyo might go into extinct

The humans befan to shout out the names of the Tokyo Hunters. They began to beg for help . No one knew why the Hunters were not showing up. No one understood the reason for their ignorance. Every human was racing towards one place – The Home of Peace.

The Home of Peace was a special large hall built by Hunters in every city to accommodate citizens on flee from demons. It was built by sub magic. This made the building somewhat hard to destory. But the Home of Peace had a specific capacity. Not all the citizens and inhabitants of Tokyo would get a space in there. Once it is filled up , the rest would have to strive to survive until the Hunters come to play their role.

The demons still charged forward not withdrawing back their might and cruel power. They slaughtered and feasted on numerous humans , yet their thirst for blood was not conquered. They advanced forward cruelly slaying humans nearby and taking advantage of their weakness and ignorance.

Suddenly, a demon on two legs walked put of the portal majestically. It's red body glowed with unsen power and energy. It's eyes glinted in pure absolute cruelty. His body was of cartilage and bone all making him masculine and dreaded. Deeply rooted on his right arm was a strong large claw that erupted from his elbow. The length of this secondary claw was extremely massive and scary. Its sharpness glinted in the rays of the neon lights .

"What a day. A day of reckony and absolute fear in humans. So much to feed on and so much to fear us. Well struck plan. Now let's see what this city has to offer." the demon said in pride. His grin was bold and evident.

In every of his word ,he had a dark reason. He had manipulated his way out of the portal, now he was going to fill his blood bank. Earth was at the mercy of the Hunters. But first the Tokyo Hunters had to save the remaining survivors while taking down the demons. Only one question could be asked over and over – Where were the Tokyo Hunters?
