The Great Wilderness, Northern Qian Continent.
Tang Yue stared at the barren mountain before her, falling into silent despair.
She was one of the countless Earthlings swept away by the wave of transmigration. One nap — and when she woke up, here she was, dressed for another world.
Luckily, the moment she landed, she bound herself to a Sect-Building System. As long as she followed the system's tasks — building the sect, recruiting disciples, and boosting its reputation — she'd earn generous rewards.
According to the system, she'd soon become the strongest cultivator in the Great Wilderness. Then marry a tall, rich, and handsome man, and walk the path to the peak of life.
But...
"This is the sect you promised me?" Tang Yue pointed at the desolate mountain, not even a single blade of grass growing, and took a deep, steadying breath.
"As the saying goes, all beginnings are difficult. As long as the host diligently completes the tasks, there will be bread and there will be milk," the system replied dryly.
Tang Yue suppressed the urge to curse, trying her best to stay calm."Sect construction, sect construction... shouldn't we at least have an actual sect first?"
"This place is one of the ten Dead Zones of the Northern Qian Continent, an ownerless land. The host may freely build a sect here," the system explained immediately.
"Build it with what?" Tang Yue spread her hands wide. "Even the clothes I'm wearing were loaned to me by you, remember?"
"Take a look at your system panel — your points are at negative ten."
"And check the system warehouse — even a mouse would cry its eyes out from the emptiness."
"There's not even a single bush around, let alone trees."
"So, am I supposed to pile up dirt and call it a sect?"
"Even if I were willing to scrape the ground barehanded to dig out a sect......with a sect this shabby, who'd actually want to join? Who'd be desperate enough to become my disciple?"
"The host has a point," the system admitted sincerely.
"Just having a point isn't enough!" Tang Yue took another deep breath, then another. "Shouldn't you offer me a solution first?"
"The host can borrow points to exchange for a sect," the system suggested. "Would you like to proceed with the exchange?"
"Of course!" Tang Yue nodded without hesitation.
She wasn't about to start digging a sect out of dirt by hand.
She was just an ordinary person, suddenly dropped into a world of cultivation — no talent, no resources, no money.
Now that she had a system, and a way to grow stronger through tasks, she had to hold onto it for dear life.Otherwise, in this world ruled by survival of the fittest, she'd be nothing but "meat" on someone's chopping block.
As her words fell, a loud rumble echoed across the barren mountain.
In the blink of an eye, a sect materialized out of thin air.
But...
Tang Yue looked at the rickety sect gate, which creaked ominously in the wind, and instantly felt her heart shatter.
Then she glanced at her task panel — her points balance now read -5,000,010. Her face turned black.
"Five million points... for this piece of junk?"
"Yes, host. The points have been borrowed. Please repay the debt within five years, or your soul will be stripped and tormented by eternal flames for millions of years," the system answered flatly.
Tang Yue's legs trembled as she sat down, clutching her chest, speechless for a long while.
Damn. She got careless.
She should've asked the price first.
Other transmigrators start with god-tier luck. She? A full-on disaster start.
Landed, and already deep in debt.
No choice but to pay it back.
"As long as the host works hard on building the sect, recruiting disciples, and completing system tasks, the debt will be paid off in no time," the system added encouragingly.
"Yeah, yeah, got it." Tang Yue took yet another deep breath and forced herself to stand. She wandered around the newly born sect.
And felt even worse.
The sect might be small, but everything was technically in place. Only...
The dilapidated main hall — sit there at night, and you'd get an unobstructed view of the stars through the roof.
The technique pavilion, the treasure vault, the spirit beast yard, the medicinal garden — all present, but so clean and empty they practically sparkled.
There was even a back mountain, though it was as bald as the front.
Forget spirit veins — she hadn't even seen a single low-grade spirit stone.
It was a perfect display — an empty frame. And a broken, half-rotted frame at that.
At least a dung ball looks smooth on the outside, right? Her sect couldn't even manage that.
"How could you have the nerve to charge me five million points for this dump?" Tang Yue choked back the urge to spit blood.
"Please name your sect," the system replied, completely ignoring her outrage.
"Call it... Star-Moon Sect," Tang Yue said, her voice drained of energy.
"Ding! Sect name confirmed. Congratulations, host, you now own your very own sect."The system sounded unusually cheerful.
"Please check the task panel, complete tasks, grow stronger, and soar to the top!"
Tang Yue flipped open the system panel — sure enough, a new task section had appeared.
Main quests, side quests, daily quests, and high-score quests — all neatly listed.
Before she had a chance to check them out, two sharp "ding dings" echoed in her mind.
Ding! Return System binding in progress…Ding! Sign-In System binding in progress…
Tang Yue was dumbfounded.Even the Sect-Building System was left speechless.
What the hell? How could there be other systems?
As both the host and the system stared at each other in confusion, two more "ding dings" rang out in her mind.
Ding! Return System successfully bound.Ding! Sign-In System successfully bound.
Regaining her composure, Tang Yue hesitantly called out: "System...?"
"We're here, host!" Two crisp, childlike voices — one male, one female — answered in unison inside her head.
The Sect-Building System also snapped back to attention, roaring, "I bound her first!"
"So what?" The Return System, a boyish voice full of pride, snorted. "We didn't cut in line or anything."
"Exactly, exactly!" The Sign-In System — a soft, sweet little girl voice — chimed in cheerfully.
"A host can only have one system!" The Sect-Building System fumed. "Where the heck did you wild systems come from? Don't you know the rules?"
"You're the wild system!" the Return System snapped, though his voice betrayed a trace of guilt.
"If you don't want to share the host, you're welcome to unbind and leave," the Sign-In System said sweetly, like candy laced with arsenic.
The Sect-Building System instantly blew its top. "Why should I unbind? I got here first!"
"Because we're way more powerful than you," the Return System snorted again, proud as ever. "We can make the host strong in no time."
"Exactly, exactly!" the Sign-In System added in her sugary voice. "Unlike you — forcing the host to grind through boring tasks."
"Five million points for a broken sect like this? You're the real scam system here," the Return System kept jabbing mercilessly.
"Exactly, exactly," the Sign-In System parroted, still soft and sweet. "Unlike us — the host doesn't even have to do anything."
As if to prove her point, another "ding" echoed in Tang Yue's mind.
Ding! Automatic sign-in at Star-Moon Sect Main Hall complete. Congratulations, host — you've obtained Imperial-Grade Spiritual Roots.
"Holy crap!"
Before Tang Yue could even react, the Sect Construction System couldn't help but burst out swearing. Its voice cracked — and even stuttered.
"Earth-grade... Earth-grade…"
At the same time, Tang Yue felt a warm sensation spreading through her lower abdomen.
Then, colorful light bloomed around her body.
The seven-colored glow wrapped her up like a cocoon from head to toe.
Roughly fifteen minutes later, the light finally receded into her body.
Tang Yue only felt refreshed and comfortable all over.
Other than that, there didn't seem to be any noticeable change.
Just as she was about to ask, the Sect Construction System freaked out again.
"Holy crap, holy crap!"
"It's not Earth-grade — it's Emperor-grade!"
Tang Yue interrupted, "That sentence sounds like a grammar mistake."
"Mistake, my ass!" The Sect Construction System's voice was still cracking. "The first 'Di' is for 'Earth,' the second 'Di' is for 'Emperor' — as in Emperor-level potential!"
"So what's the difference?" Tang Yue asked sincerely. She was still a total newbie in the world of cultivation and didn't know a thing.
"Spiritual roots are divided into nine ranks. Above the ninth rank, there are the four tiers: Heaven, Earth, Black, and Yellow. And above that, there's Emperor-grade."
The Sect Construction System was so excited its voice trembled.
"You mean my Emperor-grade spiritual root is the best in this world?" Tang Yue's eyes widened.
"Of course," the system replied without hesitation.Actually, it wasn't just this world.
"Wow!" Tang Yue's voice was full of excitement. "Sign-in System, you're amazing!"
"As long as Host likes it~" The Sign-in System replied in a soft and sweet loli voice, so cute it could melt hearts.
Not to be outdone, the Return System quickly chimed in. "Host, I can do cool stuff too!"
Ding! The Return System has voluntarily gifted one handful of yellow sand from the system space. Triggering a tenfold upgrade return — Emperor-grade spiritual veins x10.
Ding! The Return System has voluntarily gifted one handful of yellow sand from the system space. Triggering a tenfold upgrade return — Emperor-grade spiritual veins x10.
Note: The spiritual veins have been placed in the rear mountains of the sect and can be moved at Host's will.Reminder: Emperor-grade here refers to the 'Emperor' of imperial might.
As soon as the Return System finished speaking, the Sect Construction System exploded again.
"Holy crap! Holy crap! Holy crap!"
"Emperor-grade... Emperor-grade spiritual veins..."
"Ten of them! Ten freaking veins!"
The system's voice couldn't even be described as cracking anymore — it was more like a dying kettle, hoarse and strained beyond repair.
In this world, forget about Emperor-grade spiritual veins — even Earth-grade veins didn't exist.
The best veins were merely Upper-grade.
And even those were extremely scarce.
In the entire Northern Qian Continent, there were only seven Upper-grade spiritual veins, controlled tightly by the Three Great Clans and Four Major Sects.
Even the Sect Construction System itself only had two Black-grade spiritual veins in reserve, meant to be used as rewards once Tang Yue completed major quests.
But now...
Forget offering them — it was embarrassing even to mention.
From the system's shocked rambling, Tang Yue could already tell just how extraordinary these Emperor-grade veins were.
Still, she couldn't help asking, "So, how are spiritual vein ranks classified?"
The Return System immediately answered like a diligent assistant. "Aside from cultivation levels, all item rankings follow the same system as spiritual roots."
"First, from ninth to first grade. Above that are Heaven, Earth, Black, and Yellow. And above those — Emperor-grade."
As it spoke, the Return System materialized a booklet and gently dropped it into Tang Yue's hands.
"This booklet has the detailed classifications, Host can read it when you've got time."
Tang Yue flipped through it casually, then got excited all over again. "Return System, you're awesome too!"
Hearing her praise, the Return System practically floated with joy. "We'll always be this awesome, Host!"
Then it sneakily added, "That Sect Construction System, honestly, you don't need it at all."
"Yeah, yeah!" The Sign-in System immediately joined in with its soft, cutesy voice. "Just unbind from him — you've got us, and that's more than enough!"
"Unbind? I can actually choose to unbind?" Tang Yue asked curiously.
"Of course, Host! Your soul strength is beyond normal, you just need to—"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold up!" The Sect Construction System hurriedly interrupted. "Host, I'm actually super useful too!"
Ding! Host has completed the main quest: Establishing the Star Moon Sect. Reward: 10,000,000 points. Debt deducted, remaining balance: 4,999,990 points.
The Points Store is now open — Host can exchange for any item.
Tang Yue opened the store and glanced through it. It was full of stuff: spiritual tools, pills, techniques, and more.
But most of them were low-grade — between 5th and 9th rank, mostly 8th and 9th rank.
There were only a few dozen Yellow-grade and just a handful of Black-grade items, plus a single lonely Earth-grade one.
The Sign-in System glanced at the list, and though its voice was still soft and adorable, the words were sharp as knives:
"Wow, your store is full of junk."
The Sect Construction System nearly coughed up a mouthful of blood on the spot.
Just as it was about to defend itself —
Ding! Auto sign-in successful at the Star Moon Sect's front gate. Congratulations, Host, you've gained a vast amount of cultivation power!
In an instant, Tang Yue felt a torrent of spiritual energy surging into her veins, and her Emperor-grade spiritual root started circulating on its own.
From an ordinary mortal, she instantly leaped into the Incarnation Realm.
The sudden burst of power made her instinctively throw a punch —
The already crumbling sect hall collapsed into rubble on the spot, kicking up a cloud of dust.
It even startled Tang Yue herself.
Before she could fully process the shock, another ding echoed in her head.
Ding! Auto sign-in successful at the Star Moon Sect's rear mountain. Congratulations, Host, you've acquired an Emperor-grade Water Technique, automatically mastered to perfection!
A water-based spiritual technique naturally appeared in her mind.
She casually waved her hand —
With a dragon's roar, a water dragon materialized out of thin air, sweeping forward in an instant.
The broken debris in front of her was shredded into dust, perfectly blending with the barren yellow sands of the mountain.
Ding! Auto sign-in successful at the Star Moon Sect's herb garden. Congratulations, Host, you've obtained an entire garden of Emperor-grade spiritual herbs.
The once-empty herb garden was suddenly filled with glowing, fragrant herbs, their golden light dazzling the eyes.
Ding! Auto sign-in successful at the Star Moon Sect's beast yard. Congratulations, Host, you've obtained a menagerie of spirit beasts with Emperor-grade bloodlines.
The beast yard, once empty, was immediately divided into two sections.
One side was the "Edible Zone" — all the spirit beasts there contained 1% Emperor-grade blood. Eating them could boost cultivation.
The other side was the "Combat Zone" — all the beasts there carried at least 30% Emperor-grade blood, making them fierce beyond belief.
"My turn, my turn!" The Return System wasn't about to fall behind.
Ding! The Return System has voluntarily gifted one Emperor-grade herb from the system space. Triggering a tenfold return — Emperor-grade spiritual weapons x10.
Ding! The Return System has voluntarily gifted one Emperor-grade spiritual weapon. Triggering a tenfold return — Emperor-grade techniques x10.
Ding! The Return System has voluntarily gifted one Emperor-grade technique. Triggering a tenfold return — Emperor-grade cultivation manuals x10.
Ding...
"Enough! Enough with the dinging!" The Sect Construction System couldn't take it anymore.
"Where the hell did you two even come from?!"
