The village of Victory Bell Island heard the news of the troublemaker, Nixon, defeating the boss of the creek bandits, Rorgun. They were in complete disbelief. Rorgun had been terrorizing the island for a few years now, even if it wasn't to an extreme degree. Whenever he came around, he asked for food, booze, and women. If he didn't get what he wanted, he would take it forcefully.
When Rorgun went to the village chief, Boyd, a geezer just trying to live out the rest of his days in peace, he asked for all of the meat, barrels of booze, and women he could offer him. The village chief gave him food and beer, but told him that handing over the village women was prohibited.
This angered Rorgun, "How dare that geezer try to tell me no? Doesn't he know me? The great Rorgun! The blood bandit! The king of treachery!"
Later that night, Rorgun rallied his men. The creek bandits descended throughout the forest through the creek and left chaos in their wake. Rorgun, with an axe to the chief's throat, ordered that he hand over his women. But not just any woman, but those closest to him.
The chief, with a heavy heart and fearing that he'd just kill the entire village, alongside those he loved, had no choice. So, he handed over his eldest daughter, who is Gilly's sister. Rorgun, unsatisfied, took 2 more women with him that he liked, and that was that. There was nobody strong enough to go against Rorgun's might.
That was, until now...
"Rejoice! That brute has been defeated! We don't have to fear him taking our things and people any longer!"
"No way...Rorgun was defeated? By whom?"
"You haven't heard yet? It was by that troublemaker, Nixon."
"I refuse to believe it. All he did was steal and get into fights. When did he get so strong?"
"Who knows, let's just accept it as it is!"

"My daughter...look at you. Your face is riddled with bruises. Please don't hate me, I know I'm pathetic, and I'm weak. I know that I handed you over to that beast, but...It was for he people of the village. I knew he wouldn't kill you. I hoped that he would let you go once he got bored."
Boyd, the village chief, spoke to his silent daughter. He was scared, so curious as to why she had yet to speak. Then, seconds later, tears broke from her void-like eyes, and a quivering smile came with them.
"Dad...I missed you."
Just behind them was Gilly, who cried just from watching them reunite.
'I'm so weak. I couldn't do anything. If only...If only I could be stronger. No, I will be. I will get strong like Big bro Nixon.'
A hand touched Gilly's head. He turned, seeing none other than the man he was thinking about.
"Big bro.."
"What's got you so deep into thought?" Nixon said with a smile.
Nixon was then bombarded by the village people, and question after question came, but he did not answer other than with a nervous smile.
"You know, I'm not the type to ask for a favor. But, if you guys could help me out here...I need a small boat and some food."
The villagers were silent, then they started laughing.
"Of course we'll help you! What are you guys waiting for? Go get some food, and someone get him a fishing boat!"
It took no time at all for a modest wooden fishing boat to rest at the edges of the island on the blue waters. On the boat was a bag of food and some barrels of water. Nixon couldn't help but smile at the sight.
"A boat. My first boat," He said as his fingers ran across the creaky wood.
Nixon was set and ready to go. He had decided to keep the cutlass as he had it by his side at his waist. He wore a lace-up linen shirt, the sleeves a big baggy. And with it, he wore some type of black leather jeans and buckled black boots. This is what was given to him by the villagers, and he appreciated it a ton.
Just as he was about to get on the boat, his name was called.
"Nixon, big bro!"
He turned, seeing Gilly waiting for him.
"Thank you. This village won't forget you. And...I've decided to work hard too. So that I can protect my family and my people. Just like you!"
Nixon smiled, "Alright then, the best of luck to you," and with a nod, he jumped onto the boat and set the sails.
.
.
Having been at sea just drifting, Nixon knew that he just had to let the winds take him where they would take him. He had no log-pose, and he had no navigator, so he knew he had to find one quickly. With his wish for luck and destiny to favor him, he was sure it wouldn't fail him and would set him off right.
After drifting for what seemed to be a few days, his boat started to leave a light mist that had blinded his view from far out. Nixon saw some tall, ancient Chinese-looking buildings, and when his boat got closer, he made sure to dock it.
As he made his way onto a large island, he was met with more architecture and other normal-looking buildings. He saw an open bar and read the sign, "Kano Country bar?..."
The location he found himself was a place called Kano Country. Nixon tried to recall the place from the story of One Piece, and remembered the character, Chinjao. He had fought Luffy in the coliseum way in Dressrosa, but this is where he was originally from.
"Kano Country..huh?"
He made his way into the bar, and he saw nothing special, just people chatting and drinking, and a few weird glances at his self. Nixon made his way back out, walking down the fairly busy streets of Kano Country.
As he was walking, he spotted a man he recognized. Nixon's eyes broadened, wondering why the man he was seeing was here in the West Blue. "Why is Van Augur here in the West Blue? Wasn't he born in the East? Has he perhaps already started traveling and made his way here? Maybe he's yet to join Blackbeard, it is still unknown when and where he joined him. And this is an entire full year before the One Piece story begins."
'He's a talented sniper, one of the best in the show and manga that we know. I need him. I don't think he's eaten the warp-warp fruit yet, which is a bummer. Hopefully, we can get a hold of it one day in the future.'
