"Alex, stop putting broccoli in my purse!" Elena shouted, chasing after the tiny tornado who had just declared war on vegetables.
"It's for emergency monster defense!" Alex yelled back, dramatically diving behind the sofa.
Ethan stood near the entrance of his luxurious house—now a battlefield—holding two coffee mugs and blinking like he had walked into a cartoon.
"This was a mistake," he muttered.
"You invited me!" Elena huffed, yanking a broccoli floret from her handbag.
"It was meant to be a quiet, fake marriage," Ethan said, walking toward the kitchen. "Not World War Broccoli."
"I didn't bring the war," she pointed to Alex, who was now wearing socks on his hands and sliding across the marble floor like a ninja penguin. "He did."
Just then, Lily—the ever-so-dramatic assistant—entered with her signature clipboard and way too much energy.
"I brought the marriage welcome kit!" she announced cheerfully.
Ethan frowned. "Marriage welcome kit?"
Lily opened the bag dramatically. "Matching mugs, photo frames, a couple's schedule calendar, and—oh yes—fluffy bunny slippers for both of you."
Elena held up one slipper with suspicion. "Is it cursed?"
"It's cute," Lily corrected.
Ethan groaned. "Lily, it's a fake marriage."
She gave him a knowing smirk. "Yes. Fake. With matching toothbrushes, too. Very fake."
Later that night, Elena was shown to her room—which was directly next to Ethan's. He tried to explain it was just practical layout.
"I'm watching you, CEO," she said, narrowing her eyes playfully.
Ethan raised a brow. "Scared I'll sneak in?"
"No, scared you'll cry at night when Alex kicks you out of your own bed."
"I am not—!"
"DAADYYYY!" Alex's voice echoed.
Ethan sighed. "That's my cue."
As Ethan walked away in his bunny slippers (thanks, Lily), Elena chuckled and flopped onto her bed.
She stared at the ceiling and whispered to herself, "Okay. One fake marriage. One wild kid. One too-handsome CEO. What could possibly go wrong?"
Cue a very loud crash from the hallway and Alex yelling,
"THE TOILET IS FLOODING!"
Elena facepalmed.
"Everything. Everything can go wrong."
