Back at home, Dawn immediately fell down into his bed as he reached his dorm.
His mind dozing off on what he could deduce after the bandit attack...it was aimed toward him.
He knew the Arceid family was despised since their fall but to have them killed...it would be too much.
So what is left is his father's side family and the main suspect would be...viscount Zickard, Luna's father.
Dawn : This is starting to get heated...
If they are moving now...mean something was going on and for that they needed the Lavane family gone.
And since he was reputed to be the weakest and failure children of the family, he was the easiest and obvious target.
Dawn : That would mean the purpose of the ambush would either be a warning or a serious attack toward the rest of my family.
Covering his eyes with his arm, those bandits were merely following orders and were offered money for it.
Things slowly started to piece up as Dawn got up.
Dawn : I'm missing a lot of information...
He originally wanted to rest after this tiring trip but as things are evolving, he couldn't allow himself that luxe.
Dawn : For now...i should meet with Luna.
Doing as he says, he got out and went toward the girls dorm...on the way he looked up, the sky was already orange and night time was incoming.
Dawn : Mmh ?
Stopping as he reached the building in question, he looked up at Luna's room window...there was no light.
He had come here a few times since they were close friends and she has the habit of never turning off the candle which was the light for everyone here.
Dawn : (Snowie?)
Snowie : (She isn't here, master.)
Nodding, it seems this will have to wait...well at least he had something else to do at the moment and this was...
Dawn : You should come out now, I didn't know I had a night time stalker.
As he said, he turned his head toward a tree...the leaves were dense as if someone was hidden inside.
Hearing no answer, Dawn signed and sent a dagger of ice...it was fast enough where a single blink would have let you die.
But to his surprise, the dagger was deflected as a man in corpulence jumped away running as fast as he could.
Because of the surprise, Dawn didn't follow him...how could he have defeated his attack when his magicule was so weak.
Dawn : A physically superior opponent ? No, his build was literally one of a student...
Dawn Pov
A student, huh...i see, so that is how it is, they got me pretty well.
Clenching my fist, I approached the tree this spy was hiding on a moment earlier...this wasn't here, my memories are flawless.
They planned to spy on me for a moment now...no, they should have been watching me since the moment I left the Arceid mansion.
My classmate ? My teacher ? Maybe among those I call friends ? I can't trust anyone at the moment...
Even Sola, she knows and I know her secret, we have an agreement but at the end we are still human...betrayal is something normal at this point.
Dawn : And Luna...
I can't honestly picture her doing that but she is still part of a rival family...this sucks, was everything until just a lie ?
I could only close my eyes and leave quietly, after all she wasn't here tonight...usually in her room beside me.
Coincidentally, someone followed me and did it in an obvious way.
Well at least there is one thing I'm certain of...the mastermind behind all this is taking action and so his plan has already started.
I need to move faster before I lose something I will regret afterward.

The night passes smoothly as Dawn decides to avoid staying in an open field and suggests spying like his room.
He stayed outside, the composition of his body was not one of a normal human due to magicule.
He was already not really one to sleep much before but now he could stay a few days without feeling tired at all.
Time just passed slowly as he continued his training and experience with his skill.
The next day, as the sun rose, Dawn finally got out of his hiding spot which was underground in the training ground...the choice of this location was purely practical.
As the training ground isn't used during night so any sound and movement can easily be detected.
Anyway, now a new day he had things to do...class was ongoing in the afternoon but he wasn't going to take part in it.
Dawn : For now, let's take care of some trash.
His eyes turning cold, he had plenty enough time to get his thoughts in order and the conclusion naturally came.
Now, he was going to execute his plan of action...his destination being the traveling study classroom...it was neer occupied and generally a quiet place as not even the teacher would be there.
The classroom was empty with just a few desks and that was all.
Well not totally empty as someone was inside...hidden behind the door, Dawn carefully observed his classmate Laos writing.
Laos : This should do, Lord Falmuth should be pleased with the result...thought this Dawn is a problem...
Getting his confirmation, the reason Dawn found him so easily is that he had marked Laos with a magicule tracker since the bandit ambush.
Why ? Because their attack was way too timed that it became suspicious...at this moment Dawn concluded or hypothesized that there was someone who gave them information.
And the only two who could have possibly done that are Raska and Laos...Laos who didn't even try to help during the fight.
This could be explained by fear because he is still a student...but then there was no other ambush afterward.
It was too calm and the only thing Dawn could come up with is that Laos had written and given the information of his feats against the bandits.
Otherwise, they would have at least one or two back up plans, the fact that a spy was immediately set behind Dawn at his arrival at the academy forced the point of having an inner spy.
Dawn : Well...there was some flaw in my theory but all worked out.
Sighing, when Laos got up...he tried to activate some kind of special magic but failed as both his hands froze.
Laos : Huh ? (Ice...)
The memories of 2 days ago when Dawn showed his dark side against bandits flashed in his mind...he had witnessed his main magic, Ice.
A chilling feeling running through his spine, he immediately stopped whatever he thought of doing...running, screaming, begging ?
All mattered to void as the sword placed right under his neck threatened him.
Dawn : Don't move and talk only to answer.
The neutral voice Laos had heard so many times while being his classmate was gone...it was colder than even the eyes he displayed in front of the bandits.
Dawn : Good, who sent you ?
Hesitating an instant, Laos suddenly screamed as the blade threatening went down...cutting one of his frozen arms.
Laos : Ahhhh ! M-my ar-arght !
Grabbing him by the hair before he could fall on his knee...the pain was unbearable for Laos.
Dawn : I repeat, who sent you ?
Laos : S-arght !!!
His second arm now gone, Laos was way too panicked to answer...well it didn't matter at the end Dawn could just redo the process he did with the bandits.
He just wanted to see if this kid, who was really a student and got involved in this conflict, he was feeling guilty for trying to ruin someone's life.
Until now, he was still begging for his life...this was truly the pathetic side of humanity...maybe all this was just a lie in Dawn's mind.
As he just wanted to see how ugly humans were in those desperate moments...wrong or right didn't matter at this point.
Dawn : Thank you Laos, out of all those I killed, you are the one who showed me the best representation of a human.
Bandits, thieves are all guilty for their sins...similar to Laos, they were people who stood in Dawn's way.
Killing them is natural in this world...the survival of the fittest but at the end, the are still human and just now Dawn could remind himself of that.
He was slowly losing the notion of life, this was a good way to remind him how life was precious to one, to the point where even the proudest being would beg for it.
Dawn : Rest well, sir Laos, you were a good classmate.
Louding his sword directly through his skull...Dawn showed no hesitation, at the end it will benefit him.
That was all it mattered.
Dawn Pov
Reading through his information, I was able to confirm the involvement of viscount Zickard and surprisingly Baron Falmuth.
Father of my former classmate who looks like Edmaris...so it's the revolution I predicted that will change Muth to Falmuth.
But from what I've seen, Zickard was the mastermind...so why is it called Falmuth ? Another betrayal on the enemy side ?
All could be possible at this point...Though Laos was also limited as I only got basic information.
Nothing that could help me prevent this...even if I had, should I prevent it ?
Falmuth is an important piece for Rimuru's evolution...so this is bound to happen...
Anyway, I didn't even get the course of action of this revolution...the only thing Laos had was the order to eliminate me and monitor me.
Dawn : Wait...he was writing a letter before I attacked.
Remembering this detail, i went to grab the piece of paper on the ground...taking a close loo to it.
It was a coded message, heh i didn't know that...infusing magic through the paper the text unfolded in itself.
The content however made my eyes go wide...
Dawn : What...
The oldest son of the Lavane family, Luc was killed...they had multiple targets it seemed.
The mode of operation was using a girl to attract him in an isolated place and ganging on him...tch, this idiot.
Dawn : Well one head for another, I guess.
I still have 3 other siblings aside from Sola who might get targeted...I don't care much about them so I should bother with that.
Anyway with that I also cleared Sola and Luna's innocence...i had just some doubt but they are cleared now.
Now what should be my course of action...staying in this school isn't a need anymore.
And soon the disappearance of Laos would be found and the chance of me getting accused are high, I didn't even try to hide my action.
In either way, I will become wanted in this kingdom...ahh, I forgot to count all the variables.
Dawn : Running away to another kingdom isn't an option either.
Again, those damn feelings are getting in the way...Lara, Luna, Sola and the others I had interaction with.
Should I just go kill those bastards ? But then the timeline would change and i won't be able to use my knowledge of the plot.
Also, I don't know when the revolution would truly start...all those actions until now were sort of warnings.
Like a prelude to the incoming disaster...it could be tomorrow or in a month or even in the incoming year...
Dawn : (What do you think, Snowie?)
Snowie : (I am not well versed in human politics but I will follow whatever master chooses to do.)
Dawn : I see...
Well for now, i should check on the Arceid mansion...if they targeted my siblings then other members of my family aren't safe.
As I said, screw my school life at this point.
3rd Pov
Taking steps away from this classroom bathed in drenched in blood, Dawn halted as he felt a quick pain in his chest.
Dawn : Huh ?
Placing his hand on his chest, he felt nothing abnormal...neither did Snowie, it was as if something in his soul reacted.
Dawn : Was this my imagination ?
Shrugging it off, he just continued to walk...as later that day he reached his home.
Nothing bad seemed to have happened, it was only 3 days later when the alert was given and Laos's death was made public.
The suspects were as Dawn expected him and his teacher...it was only a matter of time now before the royal guards came to the Arceid mansion for him.
Dawn : Well well, I'm not really worried but it's still annoying.
Staring at the front gate through the window, it was still calm but he could already feel multiple stronger than average magicule signatures coming this way.
Dawn : Still 3 whole days...they sure took their time.
Lara : You don't seem bothered when a direct order of arrest was set on you.
Entering, Lara was already informed of what her son did days ago...just now she also received an official letter from the royal guards.
Naturally she was displeased with what he did but at the end, they weren't normal, she was more preoccupied with what Dawn was going to do now.
Dawn : Honestly, the royal guards are a total joke...beside a few individuals none in this kingdom even pose a threat to the current me.
Lara : If you say so...don't be too arrogant.
To this Dawn became quiet, he thought about it a moment...those last days he sure felt above all, it was because of the lack of real challenge.
He knew beings like the demon lord, true dragon or hero were still unreachable but in this weak human kingdom...
He was already blessed with a greater spirit and ability superior to all.
Dawn : (Am I becoming arrogant ?)
He asked himself, perhaps he was but could he control this ? Maybe losing wouldn't be bad for his mental health but now ? No he had no room for mistake and defeat now.
Lara : By the way, I received a letter from a certain Luna, she is from a rival household so the letter was carefully given to us without the Lavane family's knowledge.
Dawn : Luna ?
Lara : Yes, I read the first few sentences and it seems she wanted to talk to you but since you basically dropped out of the academy by skipping 3 days of class, she decided to send a letter here directly.
Handing him the letter, a sudden smirk formed on her face.
Lara : Is that your girlfriend ? Ara, my son grows so fast.
Wiping an imaginary tear as Dawn ignored her teasing and ran through his eyes over the letter.
Dawn : I see, it seems I will have to leave for a while.
Lara : Is that so, what should I do with the guards ?
Dawn : Can you keep them away for now ?
Lara : You sure are a troublesome son...
Sighing, Lara opened her eyes as she nodded.
Lara : Then go, she must already be waiting for you.
Dawn : Right.
Opening the window, Dawn jumped out as he wanted to avoid getting seen.
As he left, Lara's smile faded away...she looked down as a total different emotion filled her.
Lara : Bye Dawn-chan...
Those words left her mouth as the first piece was moved on the chessboard.
