We soon started our final year exams. Within a month, we were done with the exams. Weeks later, the results were out, and I did wonderfully well. My family was super proud of me.
After the results, I was left at home deciding between going to Stanford University, New York University, or Harvard University. I had applied to all three. I called Andy to see if he still planned to attend Stanford University, and he said yes. Stephanie had also applied to Stanford. Maybe I should just go to Stanford too.
My graduation was in two weeks' time. I had gotten my dress, and I was beautifully dressed in my navy blue gown. Andy and Stephanie came all the way down to attend my graduation at Orland High. Although Graceland High doesn't normally hold proms, it turned out that Orland High did, so I invited Andy and Stephanie to our prom night.
Andy arrived, holding a bunch of rose flowers, which he handed to me. I didn't know what to say. "Where's Stephanie?" I asked. "I'm right here," she replied. "Sophie, we have something to tell you," she said. "Okay," I replied.
"Andy and I broke up," she said. "What? Why?" I asked. "Okay, here's the thing: we just figured out that he's actually my half-brother. It turns out his dad once dated my mom in the past, she got pregnant without his knowledge, and then he went on to marry Andy's mom. So, that's it. Also, we got admission into Stanford University." "Wow!" I exclaimed.
"I'll take it from here," Andy added. "So, the red roses are for you to rethink my proposal." "Okay, I get it now. Is there still a need to rethink?" I asked. "Well, I accept your proposal. I love you, Sophie," he said to me, and we kissed.
"Congratulations on your admission, guys!" We went out to have fun. After our time out, it was too late, so they slept over at my house. The next day, we got ready to attend their graduation at Graceland High.
I was at the graduation hall when I saw an email from Stanford University. I had just gotten admitted! I also got admission into NYU, although Harvard University turned me down. I had already made my decision – I was going to Stanford too.
Olive got admitted to NYU as well, and I was so happy for her. I was going to study Law at Stanford University with Andy and Stephanie. Andy was going to study Journalism, and Stephanie was also going to study Law. Olive was going to NYU to study Journalism as well. I was really happy that my friends and I had gotten admitted.
Raymond apologized for his attitude, and I forgave him. Life was too short to hold grudges. My high school diary was a constant in my life throughout this wave of experiences.
