Within the Spirit Realm – The Bridge of Memory Fragments
There was no flow of time in the spirit realm, only the slow descent of consciousness.
After stepping through the mirror gate, Lu Feng and Kaelin found themselves standing on a bridge made of fragmented memories—Each tile beneath their feet reflected moments from their shared past:Their first soul-link, the Gray Domain trials, the battle they almost didn't survive.
At the end of the bridge stood a tower—silver, glowing, and softly pulsing as if alive.
It was the Tower of Reconstruction.
Internally designated as the Soul-Link Core Nexus,it was the only remaining operating protocol deep within the spirit realm.
Its purpose: to rewrite broken soul-links, purify chaotic resonance, and attempt what was once deemed impossible—to redefine the rules.
This time, Lu Feng volunteered to go in alone.
Kaelin objected at first.
"Your soul-mark is still unstable. The core is unregulated."
"I have to try," he said."If we want to create a future without depending on the old system—I need to try… to redefine the soul-link itself."

Above the tower, a vortex of light formed—clear and fluid, surrounded by thousands of floating runes.
Lu Feng extended his hand. His soul-link unwound like starlight, reaching into the core's anchor.
One second—stable.
Three seconds—trembling.
At six seconds, the interface turned red.
"Warning: Soul-link desynchronization detected.""Warning: Identity breach in progress.""Alert: Soul resonance retroversion—Unclassified signature forming."
Kaelin's expression tightened.
"Disconnect now! You've deviated from your natural soul-path!"
But it was too late.
—
Lu Feng's pupils began to glow.
Not blue. Not gray-white.
But both—twisting, clashing, flickering.
He shuddered violently, collapsing to one knee. His lips moved, but no sound came. The auto-protection protocols tried to eject him—But the core blocked them.
His soul began to fracture—caught between memory and illusion.
Kaelin acted fast. She forcefully severed the connection and pulled him out.
He collapsed in her arms, barely breathing.
But as she held him—she saw it.
Behind him, a faint projection of his soul-link flickered—
And within it—
A second figure. Vague. Human-shaped. Smiling with hollow eyes.
"You finally let me out."
—
Lu Feng regained consciousness in the soul-restoration chamber.
"I… I'm still here?" he murmured.
Kaelin sat nearby, eyes shadowed with concern.
"Your soul-link… it's been infiltrated."
"There are now two chains within you—One is yours…"
"The other… may be the version of you that was copied inside the mirror realm."
She hesitated before adding:
"We don't know… if you're still completely you."

Kaelin stared into his eyes.
There was still warmth—still the person she knew.
But deep down…She could see it—
A part of him was now someone else.

The experiment had failed.
But destiny… had just opened a new fracture.
