The city behind the palace is nothing much but a bunch of houses and shops. I feel like as I get closer and closer to the wall, its way more debris and burnt houses and buildings.
The city fun center is almost tall like a mini mall. I could see the electronic wastes, the broken computers and stuff from outside. This will be a quick in and out, go to the roof, careful not to fall into the sight of any dwarfs, find out how much more distance to reach the north wall and comeback quietly trying not to get anything's attention. I am feeling too much impulsive, to do this, before the nightfall.
I plucked a bunch of mushrooms out from the land of the dead city. I entered the city center carefully, eating the mushrooms raw with one hand and the other hand holding the battery gun. Not bad, I guess next time, I should try boiling these mushrooms with the sea water. I reached up to the roof safely. No killer dwarfs here. The north wall looks closer from here. A bat like creature flew across the dusky sky. I quickly ate all the mushrooms in my hand and jumped on to the next building nearby and followed it jumping from building to building and looked around for the flying creature. I instantly regretted the decision to follow the flying creature as soon as I saw the shadow appearing from behind.
Not again, no it shouldn't be him, not him. I turned back slowly. As soon as the golden masked freak's trench coat bottom appeared in the corner of my eye. I ran towards the exit and shut the shutter door there. I gripped my hands on the battery gun, standing behind the grill shutter door, aiming the gun towards the masked freak through the holes in the grilled shutter. The masked man coldly walked towards me calmly, he didn't care to hurry. I pulled the battery gun's lever. Nothing happened. Great timing, the battery gun is not working.
I stood there behind the shutter lifelessly without knowing what to do next. The whole place shook like there is an earthquake as the masked man walked towards me. Debris started to fell down from the ceiling above me. I have to run, my body says so. Now I know what happened back there when the city was drowning. I ran because my body, my soul remembers him, though my brain doesn't. It is like a muscle memory, like a pain of a past memory triggered when thinking about it.
I ran down two floors but I suddenly stopped running as I sensed something. Two eyes glowed from the darkness, like the eyes of a nocturnal wild four legged creature. A rugged wolf snarled and slowly approached me from the stairs, like I am a beast and he is wary of me. Another wolf came from behind. The two wolves slowly climbed from the stairs snarling at me. I stepped back, but I am really in a hurry to get out from this building. I don't know where this confidence came from. I could take them down easily, if I try. I must do this anyway.
The wolves jumped at me, I startled and pushed away a wolf accidentally while moving my hands to protect myself but another wolf made contact with my stomach and I pushed it down too. The wolf I pushed away first got smacked against the wall and the latter one was down on the floor. Blood trickled down from my stomach as one wolf scratched my stomach with its fangs while I was focusing on the other. I thought I was strong and fast, but I couldn't react faster, no it wasn't that I didn't react faster, I didn't even notice the other wolf scratching me from my blind side. My confidence from before is completely shattered now, there is no way I am winning while fighting two of them. I ran down the stairs before the wolves could get on their feet and kill me.
I reached the ground floor but got blocked by long and sharp ice spikes on either side of the wall. The sea breeze from the ocean which flew through the windows smothered against the ice spikes made me trembling in coldness. I jumped out from the window avoiding the spikes. Two thin ice men, their body made of ice, stood behind the building, holding spears made of ice with them. They didn't notice me, I should avoid them at any cost, if I encounter them, when I am fighting one guy the other will surely thrust his spear through my neck.
Strange monsters has being coming out since the sun set. The closer I get to the wall, the more monsters I'm facing. I never imagined the dead city would be filled with deadly monsters. I ran away as fast as I could, hoping I would reach the wall. I ran in zig zag thinking I am confusing the monsters whichever which spots me. I reached the sea shore, instead of arriving at the great wall. The golden masked freak is real after all. All I do is run away, I chose to fight back, like a hero, but I am no hero. I never thought it is that hard to face two foes at the same time. Back there in the palace, I tried to fight a whole army of dwarfs, they would have torn me apart part by part into pieces. Running away doesn't make me tired anymore. It's just my agitated heart which beats faster like a race horse.
My brain literally got a loose nut. I can't stop thinking what should I do now? How could I get away from this dead city? The thought keeps on running in my mind, searching for an answer. Stop thinking, stop it my stupid brain, this is killing me. I jumped into the sea, thinking that would dull my loose brain. The heavy wet clothes weighed me down when I tried to get back to the shore. The cool breeze smothering my wet body, my eyes dimmed, no if I sleep, the dreams would haunt me. At least I could run away from danger when I am awake but I couldn't even run away in my dreams, I just stand there watching the horror with no sense of hope or anything like I am already dead.
